PRESS RELEASE!!!!!

Yoruba One Voice International Press Conference at the National Press Club on the issue of Insecurity, Terrorism, Genocide in Yorubaland, and Nigeria.

Ladies and gentlemen of the press, it is our distinct pleasure to announce to you our upcoming World Press Conference in Washington DC, USA, on July 1, 2021, at 12pm - 1:30pm ET to discuss insecurity, terrorism, genocide, raping, abuse of women and children, sex trafficking and the disintegration of Nigeria.

If these problems are not resolved they would impact global economy, immigration, and lead to global humanitarian crises.

The Conference will include reporters from major international news organizations including CNN, etc. and Nigerian panelists.

The Conference expected outcome is to develop and produce a peaceful road map to amicably resolve the current crises in Nigeria and to prevent further

disintegration that may lead to civil war.

Buhari's administration has been plagued with many atrocities across Yorubaland, including the two incidents at Igangan, killing of Pastors, businessmen and women, maiming, dismemberment, raping, killings of women and children and kidnappings for huge ransoms running into millions of naira.

Farmers are killed daily with their farm crops and harvests destroyed.

The outlined problems are reasons different ethnic groups are now demanding Self Determination.

We Yoruba with common language, value and culture are now demanding our own Nation.

We successfully ran our own government in the past that was a shiny star on the hill during Awolowo's era when we accomplished the following:

*First Radio Station.

*First TV Station in Africa.

"Free Education System.

*Free HealthCare System with the best hospitals in Africa.

*Functioning Public Water System and 24/7 Electricity Supply.

We are capable and ready to be part of the civilized world again.

Further disintegration is inevitable if nothing is done.

Therefore, we are asking for an internationally supervised referendum for self -determination before another civil war.

A new civil war will grossly affect all the international industries in Nigeria which are in Yorubaland.

Kidnapping has become a lucrative business with government paying huge

ransoms to the terrorist Fulani kidnappers and we find it very difficult that government negotiators can find their location but cannot arrest them.

We believe the government is complicit in this criminal enterprise where paid

ransoms are used to buy ammunition for terrorism.

We find it very difficult to believe that a President will rather lose his country to

foreign Fulani terrorists.

Herdsmen use Cattle grazing as a cover-up for terrorism, killings, kidnappings, and banditry.

Insecurity, terrorism, genocide, and disintegration of Yorubaland and Nigeria will likely continue, and this is why we want our Yoruba Nation Self-determination.

Thank you.

COALITION OF NIGERIANS AGAINST AMERICAN BLOCKADE OF CUBA ASKS NIGERIA'S FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO VOTE AGAINST BLOCKED

COALITION OF NIGERIANS AGAINST AMERICAN BLOCKADE OF CUBA ASKS NIGERIA'S FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO VOTE AGAINST BLOCKED

The coalition of Nigerian Movements Against the US-CUBA blocked has in a letter to the NIGERIA'S federal government demanded the country voted against the blockade at the UN general assembly.

In a letter tittles " Need for Nigeria to vote for an end to the blockade of Cuba at the United Nations General Assembly"  addressed to Geoffrey Onyeama who is the incumbent Honourable Minister of the country's foreign affairs ministry, the coalition expresses desire and the hope of millions of the Nigerian people that the country should vote at the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 for the resolution demanding a final end to the blockade against Cuba imposed by the United States since February 7, 1962.

The coalition said: " This final push is necessary because the American establishment has treated with contempt, the 28 resolutions adopted by the UN General Assembly condemning the blockade".

22ND JUNE 2021

WE ARE A COALITION OF NIGERIANS AGAINST AMERICAN BLOCKADE OF CUBA!

COPIED: The United Nations General Assembly, c/o UN Office, Abuja-Nigeria.

His Excellency Geoffrey Onyeama.

The Honourable Minister

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Tafawa Balewa building

Federal Secretariat

Central Business District

Abuja- Nigeria.

Your Excellency,

Need for Nigeria to vote for an end to the blockade of Cuba at the United Nations General Assembly

We, a coalition comprising the two labour centres in the country; the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC ) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), radical progressive groups, intellectuals in the Academic unions, Civil Society and Human Rights organisations organised as the Nigerian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, bring you greetings.

We write to express our desire and the hope of millions of the Nigerian people that our country should vote at the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 for the resolution demanding a final end to the blockade against Cuba imposed by the United States since February 7, 1962. This final push is necessary because the American establishment has treated with contempt, the 28 resolutions adopted by the UN General Assembly condemning the blockade.

Your Excellency, Nigeria as a country has consistently voted against the blockade, and at this final stage, we need to make our vote emphatic. This will be in line with the February 7, 2021 Resolution of the African Union (AU) Heads of State Summit, which in declaring “its solidarity with the People of Cuba” also expressed: “serious concern about the continuous and illegal Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.”

Needless to remind Your Excellency that Nigeria’s principled opposition against the blockade is basically in line with the very reason why the United Nations was established in 1945. Specifically, the United Nations Charter and Resolutions (Chapter 1, Article 1, part 2) states that the purpose of the UN Charter is: "To develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples, and to take other appropriate measures to strengthen universal peace."

The right of all countries to self-determination which the US is challenging by its unilateral blockade of Cuba for six decades now, is sacrosanct. It was this principle Nigeria stood for in ensuring independence for all countries particularly in the bloody liberation wars in Angola, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde, Zimbabwe, Namibia and South Africa. We need not remind ourselves of the fact that thousands of Cuban youths laid down their precious lives on the African soil fighting the forces of Apartheid and militarily defeating them to ensure the liberation of our continent.

Your Excellency, the US blockage against Cuba is tantamount to genocide as it blocks that country from free trade including freely importing and exporting goods, using credit from financial institutions or import life-saving medicines including for the Covid-19 pandemic. At the outbreak of the pandemic, the Chinese business mogul, Jack Ma sent life-saving medicines and emergency Covid-19 materials to various countries including Nigeria and Cuba. While all beneficiary countries received the aid, Cuba was denied because the American embargo forbids airlines delivering such aid to the Cubans.

In financial terms, the accumulated quantifiable cost of the blockade to Cuba over the past sixty years is $1,098,008,000,000. No country can be subjected to such haemorrhage and remain financially healthy.

Your Excellency, we urge our country not just to vote to tear down the walls of the American blockade, but also to give leadership to the African continent in delivering a strong ‘Yes’ vote against this unilateral and inhuman blockade against a sister country with ancestral roots in Africa.

As we look forward to positive results in this universal struggle for human liberation, please accept our high regards.

PRESS STATEMENT: Yoruba Nation: "Calling the agemate of his father foolish shows Aregbesola lacks the much coveted Yoruba Omoluabi ethos" - Ilana Omo Oodua

Says ex-Osun State Governor is a frustrated agent of the Caliphate

Sunday 6th June, 2021.

We at Ilana Omo Oodua, the umbrella body of Yoruba Self-Determination Groups, under the leadership of Emeritus Professor Banji Akintoye, want to say very expressly that for Aregbesola to call the agemate of his father foolish shows that he lacks the much coveted Yoruba Omoluabi ethos".

He is a frustrated agent of the Caliphate. His Interior ministry is in charge of the Department of Immigration under whom foreign herdsmen invaded our land with impunity.

He threatened Yoruba people with war yesterday, and within hours, Igangan, Ibarapa Zone of Oyo State was invaded by murderous herdsmen leading to scores of Yoruba people being killed and properties worth millions of Naira destroyed!

Has Aregbesola issued a statement to condemn the actions of the Fulani Herdsmen that had declared war on the Yoruba people under his watch?

"Aregbesola was governor in Osun State for eight years and he governed the people. It is very unfortunate if he said Yoruba Nation Agitators are foolish. Was he saying that the over 40,000 people who participated in the Yoruba Nation rally in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State yesterday were foolish?

"Was he saying that the Osun State people that he governed and who are currently at the forefront of the Yoruba Nation agitation are foolish? We were in Osogbo, Osun State and the crowd of people that received us was so huge. Was Aregbesola saying those people are foolish?

We in Ilana Omo Oodua know that we are not foolish and that the people who Aregbesola governed in Osun State are not foolish.

"He is merely expressing his frustration that the Yoruba Nation self-determination crowd, passionate and determined, is increasing, from one state to another, against the expectations of the Caliphate he speaks for.

"Aregbesola is currently serving those who are against the liberation of the Yoruba Nation. He is therefore just trying to impress his equally frustrated pay masters - the Fulani dominated Federal Government, who are determined to frustrate our freedom, but we are putting it to him that he and his likes have failed.

The power of the people is the ultimate In a democracy. No dictator has ever defeated the collective will of the people. Aregbesola and his cabal will fail.

"Aregbesola is a frustrated man and he will keep wallowing in the web of frustration untill the Yoruba people decisively achieve their independence from the hegemony of those who Aregbesola is trying to impress."

CORE LAGOS STATE CHAPTER CONDEMNS CRACKDOWN ON PROTESTERS AT ABUJA AND ATTACK ON OMOYELE SOWORE

CORE LAGOS STATE CHAPTER CONDEMNS CRACKDOWN ON PROTESTERS AT ABUJA AND ATTACK ON OMOYELE SOWORE

*Press Statement - May 31st 2021

The Lagos state chapter of Coalition for Revolution condemns the Nigeria Police Force’s crackdown on a protest at Abuja and attacks on Omoyele Sowore today.

Omoyele Sowore, National Chair of the African Action Congress (AAC) and the National Convener of the Take it Back Movement (TIB) was shot by ACP - Altine Daniel at close range, following the live footage from his personal Facebook account, it will be recalled that ACP - Altine Daniel was also instrumental to the assault of Omoyele Sowore and four others on 1st of January during a peaceful procession in Abuja.

The Lagos state chapter reaffirms to the general public that the right to peaceful assembly is legitimate and enshrined in the Nigerian constitution and international treaties that Nigeria is a signatory to, we thus demand;

• All police officers involved in the shooting be brought to book IMMEDIATELY,

• All trumped up charges against Omoyele Sowore be dropped forthwith,

• Sowore’s constitutional rights and freedoms to speech, movement, etc be fully and unconditionally restored.

However, it is expedient to stress that this act will not deter us and will not dissuade us from further actions. #RevolutionNow is our pathway in the popular quest to end impunity and insecurity and, win our total liberation. We shall thus not waver, as we remain committed to keep flying the banner as a revolutionary strata of working people, youths and oppressed class.

EL-RUFAI IS A CRIMINAL: JAF DECLARES MAXIMUM SUPPORT FOR THE NLC RESISTANCE IN THE KADUNA WORKERS' STRIKE

EL-RUFAI IS A CRIMINAL: JAF DECLARES MAXIMUM SUPPORT FOR THE NLC RESISTANCE IN THE KADUNA WORKERS' STRIKE

PRESS STATEMENT

JAF SUPPORTS THE NLC RESISTANCE IN THE KADUNA WORKERS' STRIKE,

• DECLARES EL-RUFAI A CRIMINAL FOR PUBLIC PROSECUTION,

• URGES NATIONWIDE SOLIDARITY STRIKE OF WORKERS & THE POOR MASSES!

• The Struggle of Nigerian Workers WILL DEFINITELY OUTLIVE El-RUFAI & his Cohort of Anti-Labour, Anti-People Governors & Vagabonds in Power!

1. The Joint Action Front ((JAF) salutes the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for the resistance in the ongoing 5-day Warning Strike aimed to compel the arrogant and criminally minded Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, to reverse his anti-people and anti-labour policies of sacking of over 30,000 workers, in the past five years, with the recent illegal sack of 4,000 workers being the latest.

2. However, rather than respond to the legitimate and popular demands of the NLC and the affected workers, the arrogant and criminally incensed El-Rufai adored the destructive and intransigence stance of violent repression of the peaceful protests, that commenced on Monday May 17, 2021 and which have been successful with the shutdown of work services and activities in Kaduna State.

3. JAF commends the NLC leadership and the entire workers in Kaduna for their principled defiance of the pre-strike threats and actual violence unleashed by sponsored thugs and the police attacks facilitated by the El-Rufai dictatorial and brutish government. The attacks unleashed against the peaceful protest marches and defenceless workers since the commencement of the popular strike is despicable and criminal and Governor El-Rufai should be held responsible for the current state of anarchy he is bent on foisting in the state by pitting other categories of workers and working people against workers in the services of the Kaduna State Government, based on his malicious and spurious propaganda of the shares of revenues in the State.

4. JAF enjoins the NLC, the sacked workers and the entire Nigerian workers not to be deterred by the threat of further attacks and illegal imposition of measures being recklessly pronounced by Governor El-Rufai, but rather, the leadership of the NLC should be encouraged to call an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting with a view to declare nationwide strike and mass protest of the working people and oppressed masses.

5. JAF wants to reiterate that the demand by the NLC for the unconditional recall of all the over 30,000 (recently and before) sacked workers should be in focus, in addition, to insisting on the full implementation of the national minimum wage and the reversal of all anti-Labour policies and anti-poor measures in Kaduna State. The demands of the nationwide strike and protest we are proposing should include rejection of any planned increase in fuel prices and electricity tariff and anti-poor policies of Buhari government and the general state of insecurity.

6. JAF urges the Nigerian working people and the poor to disregard the desperate and illegal declaration of the NLC President Ayuba Wabba wanted by El-Rufai, as an act of INSANITY and of a drowning criminal who ordinarily, shouldn’t occupy public office in a democratic space!

7. Equally, JAF demands that the Inspector General of Police and the Kaduna Commissioner of Police stand culpable and indicted for the degeneration of the peaceful protests by workers into violence. The police from documentary evidence available, rather than protect the peaceful protest from the Hell Rufai’s recruited thugs, joined forces with the thugs to destabilise the protests with their indiscriminate shootings, but for the large turnout of the organised mass of workers, whose courageous and commendable resistance defied and overcame the violence.

8. We in JAF take serious note that the El-Rufai’s violence attack on workers has once more brought to the fore the consistent demand by JAF on why the NLC and the organised Labour should be resolved to organise and mobilize the Nigerian workers along the line of working class ideological direction in the struggle to end the policies of neoliberalism that are manifested in privatisation, deregulation, dependence on IMF and World Bank policies, which are the driving forces of retrenchment of the workforce, mass unemployment, general state of insecurity, lack of commitment by Government to the welfare of the majority of the people, etc.

9. Therefore, JAF urges all the organisations of the working people and the oppressed poor across the country to join forces with the NLC, not only in the ongoing workers’ struggle in Kaduna State but to be prepared to sensitise and mobilize Nigerians in their various constituencies on the urgent necessity to UNITE & ORGANISE on a nationwide struggle for SYSTEM CHANGE!

This is what we meant by SYSTEM CHANGE:

“Nigeria is rich. The wealth belongs to the people. Most Nigerians are hungry, have no jobs, no education, no healthcare, no potable water, no electricity supply and no affordable transportation. Most cannot feed their families or educate their children. Those who are lucky to have jobs are not much different. They also cannot afford a decent living for their families. On the other hand, there is a very tiny group of Nigerians who have cornered the wealth that belong to the working people and the poor, who are in the majority. They loot the treasury and use their stolen wealth to sustain themselves in power through their political parties. They use their power to get richer and richer when the poor get poorer and poorer. This is the system of exploitation and oppression. It is the system that brings out the army and the police to kill poor people when they protest against oppression and exploitation. We want to change that system and replace it with a system where the working people and the millions of people who are sufferings under the system of exploitation will win power and ensure that the wealth of Nigeria is used to ensure a good life for the majority of the people who are now exploited and oppressed. System change is not replacing one exploiter’s government by another exploiter’s government. It is replacing an exploiter’s government by a people’s government to reorganise Nigeria and put an end to exploitation and oppression”.

“The System Change we want will UNITE the vast majority of our people under a government that will organise the working people and oppressed poor to boost our productive capacities and will use the resources for sustainable economic and social advancement; thereby reversing our economic dependency and restoring our dignity as an independent country. The Government of the working people will take care of all Nigerians no matter where they come from, their religion, where they live, and their sex. It will care for all Nigerians dehumanised by the rule of the oppressors”.

DARE TO STRUGGLE, DARE TO WIN!

ODUDUWA REPUBLIC: NO GOING BACK ON ABEOKUTA RALLY - Ilana Omo Oodua

ODUDUWA REPUBLIC: NO GOING BACK ON ABEOKUTA RALLY - Ilana Omo Oodua

Invites Amnesty International, NUJ, HURIWA, NAWOJ, IPC, SERAP, CDHR, NBA, others to observe rally

Says "Any Attempt to Stop Our Peaceful Assembly Shall Be Challenged Logically, Legally and Internationally"

Friday 30th April, 2021

The apex body of Yoruba Self-Determination Groups, Ilana Omo Oodua, has described the threat by the Ogun State Police Command of the Nigerian Police Force to stop the Pro-Yoruba Nation's rally being planned by the organisation tomorrow in Abeokuta, the State capital as a declaration of war against the constitutional rights of the Yoruba people for self-determination, peaceful assembly and speech, warning that any attempt to stop the rally shall be challenged legally, logically and Internationally.

Promising to be peaceful, lawful and make decorum its watchword throughout the duration of rally tomorrow, the Group, being led by a second republic member of the senate and renowned Professor of History, Banji Akintoye, called on organisations such as the Amnesty International (AI), Human Rights Writers Association (HURIWA), Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Committee for the Defense of Human Rights (CDHR), International Press Council (IPC), Socio - Economic Rights And Accountability Project (SERAP) and all local and international media organisations to attend the rally as observers.

Reacting through a statement signed by its Media and Communications Secretary, Mr. Maxwell Adeleye, Ilana Omo Oodua described the claims by the Ogun State Police Spokesperson, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, that previous rallies organised by the organisation were violent, as an absolute mendacity, and a fallacious attempt to paint the organisation in a bad light.

"We read with total disbelief, a statement credited to the Ogun State Police Command that our Pro-Yoruba nation Nation's rally scheduled to hold in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital tomorrow will not be allowed to hold. We want to believe the statement of the police is a joke. However, if the Police was serious about the threat, we want to let the the authorities in Ogun State know that our rally will go ahead as scheduled because the police have no power under the law to deny us of our rights to self-determination and peaceful assembly.

"We at Ilana Omo Oodua considers the statement as a declaration of war against our rights to self-determination, peaceful assembly and speech as guaranteed by the United Nations and African Union Charters on Human Rights which Nigeria is a signatory to.

"We want to assure the police that we shall hold our demonstration very peacefully, lawfully and orderly tomorrow, and we warn that any attempt to stop the rally shall be challenged legally, logically and Internationally.

"Morealso, we say, for the sake of those who may have been cajoled by the claims of the Police that previous Pro-Yoruba Nation's rallies in Ogun State were violent and disturbed the peace of the state, that Ilana Omo Oodua, under the leadership of Emeritus Professor Banji Akintoye, has never been violent in its approach, and the facts are out there already.

"To assure the police that we are indeed peaceful, and we shall continue to be peaceful, lawful and orderly, we hereby use this opportunity to invite organisations such as the Amnesty International (AI), Human Rights Writers Association (HURIWA), Nigerian Bar ASSOCIATION, Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Committee for the Defense of Human Rights (CDHR), International Press Council, Socio - Economic Rights And Accountability Project (SERAP), all local and international media organisations to attend the rally tomorrow as observers", the statement, concluded.

THE MASSES MUST UNITE AGAINST ETHNIC POLARIZATION CORE Press Statement

THE MASSES MUST UNITE AGAINST ETHNIC POLARIZATION CORE Press Statement

The country is at a complex and dangerous juncture. The government has demonstrated its clear inability to safeguard the lives and property of people. Banditry and kidnapping have become widespread across several states, blending with conflicts such as those between herders and farmers into an explosive reality.

The fact that a significant number of the perpetrators of some of this crime have been identified as Fulani has been opportunistically used to present the problem, which has deeper roots and dynamics, as one of ethnic differences. But simply defining a people, be these Fulani or another nationality, by the infractions of some of them, is counterproductive. It also does not explain why there has been such increase in criminality as part of the broader state of insecurity.

Fulani have been chased away from Ibarapa and issued an ultimatum to leave the south-western states. These actions have received support from a cross-section of people in the region. Many have lost loved ones or heard tales of people who have suffered in the hands of bandits or kidnappers. Some have had their farmlands overrun by cattle herded by Fulani. We must not belittle the loss of people who have been thus affected. But we must put things in perspective towards achieving a revolutionary-democratic solution of this pervasive problem.

Thus, CORE unequivocally states that:

- The root causes of increasing criminality are poverty, lack of social protection, and disillusionment in the corrupt ruling class and its state,

- Criminals are not limited to any one ethnic group. For example, Evans who is one of the most notable kidnappers before he was arrested is not Fulani,

- Government is responsible for providing security with billions of naira allocated for this purpose every year,

- Before the attacks on Fulani in Ibarapa, Yoruba and Fulani had carried out joint patrols to stamp out kidnapping and associated crimes. And it was clear that Fulani people as well had been kidnapped. It is also noteworthy, that there are probably as many or more Yoruba in the north as there are Fulani in the south-west,

- Attacks and killings of Fulani or any people of any other ethnicity in the south-west or any other region is likely to result in retaliatory killings and quick descent into unending bloody conflicts and possibly a civil war,

- Some of those now presenting themselves as ethnic saviours have histories of being bandits and political thugs. The poor masses must not entrust their safety and security in such hands,

- We must draw lessons from experiences of the rise of bodies like the OPC and militants in the Niger. Supposed saviours, as ethnic champions, became part of the problem,

- It is the people themselves that can be their own liberators. And we must not be divided along ethnic lines. People from all ethnic groups live in different parts of the country,

- Criminal activities must be treated as such without any ethnicization of criminality, whilst addressing the root causes of increasing criminality,

- What we need now is unity and solidarity of the poor masses of all creed, ethnicity and across all regions in struggle for a better society where poverty and this sort of state of insecurity become history.
