PETER OBI IN IBADAN, PAID HOMAGE TO THE OLUBADAN OF IBADANLAND IN STYLE

The Presidential candidate for Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi today visited the Olubadan of Ibadanland in grand style in his Arere Palace to officially solicit his support and that of the good people of the largest city in the sub-Saharan region.
Obi and his entourage led by the Director General of his campaign team, Dr. Doyin Okupe arrived at the Palace by 11am and was ushered to the Palace by some High chiefs.
Speaking on his intentions, Obi state that his ambition is not for personal interest but to savage Nigeria out of the present difficult situation with which the country found itself adding that with the highest number of people living with poverty, out-of school children, Insecurity, highest number of robbery and out-of job youths, he stated that
2023 calls for an opportunity to save the country from collapse.
He explained that "all candidates have been going around to campaign and making endless promises, but as for him, everyone should investigate his background, adding that its will be easy to find out as an in-law to the Olubadan".
Obi opined that "we can't allow the country to break, we want Nigeria to be united and stable, he said Nigeria should be able to produce more than its consuming, because it has the human and natural resources needed for it to improve the economy of the country.
"Nigeria is now the opposite of what it used to be, Ibadan is not what it should be as it cannot be compare to the mega city of Lagos which is at per with it in everything, the federal infrastructures that is here is near collapse, no improvement can be possible without FG intervention".
According to Obi, a president should have course to visit major cities in the country to be able to know what their needs are and how to intervane, not just paying lip service to develeopment.
Obi stressed the need for us to work on our foreign exchange which is been crippled by the none prodictiin of our country unlike other countries of the world, Nigeria doubled the landmass of Vietnam and yet we don't have what they have economically, Oyo state is bigger than Israel, yet Oyo did not cannot boast of what they have economically, all this and more will change if by the Grace of God he emerge the president of Nigeria in the forthcoming general election in 2023.
He expressed his utmost disappoinment at what Niger State where we have more landmass but could not farm enough their because of the rate of insecurity and attack by the bandit, that makes the state the poorest in Nigeria despite all its natural resources, Niger could have been in position to feed the whole Nigeria but they can't do anything.
we should get this country to work, Nigeria has more land for agriculture but we are not using 60 percent of thenland we have. OBI's administration will change the style, the election will koto be based on party, check the character of people, "I will ensure my leadership fights corruption to the bearest minimum, we are the only country that its oil is been stolen on daily basis, 50 percent of FG revenue is on oil and yet its been stolen by some people in large quantity on daily basis and lost over 5 billion dollars.
Obi insisted that "everyone should check Anambra where I served for 8 years, I win the number one in MDG project, he is not owing salaries, pension, gratuity, suppliers, and he has over 50 billion dollars in Fidelity, Access banks and does not collect pension, severance, gratification from anyone since he left office in 2019. He appealed to everyone to see 2023 elections as an avenue to help our nation get it right and this must not be based on religion, tribal, ethnics or sentiments which might hinder us.
Its the turn of the Nigeria youths, if we want the country to work, it must be based on character we can trust, we must be commited and have integrity, and his administration
will not serve the country from Abuja.
Earlier, the Labour Party governorship candidate, Tawfiq Tayo Akinwale promised that if Peter Obi is given the chance to win, the creation of Ibadan State will be visible and there would be an edifice that will be names after the Olubadan while the Ibadan airport will be upgraded to an International standard, all these will go a long way to make the great people of Ibadan proud.
Responding on behalf of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oloye Ajibola, though you have said a lot about Ibadan, but Kabiyesi wants him to point out the area of Security, the Olubadan in his effort to ensure adequate security, he has organised a lot of symposium, seminars and workshop on how we should have a peaceful election.
Olubadan believes all the candidates are his children and he will do everything not to be biased or sentimental is supporting.
Olubadan notes that he is comfortable with Obi's conduct and his antecedents.
The Olubadan however wish him the best of luck, and urged him to look into how he will find a lasting solution to our insecurity, economic and development of the state, its important to improve the nation in general, olubadan however gave his blessing to Obi through one of his high chiefs,
Oloye Eddy Oyewole who prayed for Obi's victory and that Almighty God will allow him to win irrespective of all the problems and situations on ground.
While giving the vote of thanks, the Director General of Obidatti campaign team Dr. Doyin Okupe appreciated the Olubadan and his Oloye and promised that the team will surely not let them down.
The train therefore moved to the Dominican University to grace First and second convocation ceremony of Dominican Univeristy, Ibadan, Oyo State, at Samonda.
Obi who is the Pro-chancellor of the University implored the graduating students to be good ambassadors of their institution and Nigeria as a whole.
Obi explained that "it's only the youths that can help build the new Nigeria of our of our dream, adding that 2023 election will be a vote for commitment, capability, competences and interest".
Obi urged the youths to help humanity and throguh that they will be rich, adding that they should not aspire for riches, everything one achieves is by God's Grace, so aspire to be good and it shall be better for them all.

The tragic incident happened Thursday 25th November 2023, a day after the Labour Party's presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi was glamorously welcomed in a powerful rally in Ibadan.

Although, Ogunlana survived the accident unhurt but he is currently receiving medical attentions and check up in an undisclosed hospital in the state.

The secretary of Labour Party in Oyo State, Comrade Gabriel Ogunlana survived a ghastly motor accident in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
