NWC in session therefore insists that the Federal Government and the law enforcement agencies must as a matter of duty fish out these hoodlums and get them prosecuted.

The Osun State Government has declared Friday, a work-free day in marking this year’s Isese Day, even though the celebration would be without fanfare as Covid 19 pandemic still remains a threat.

Also the statement enjoined them to continue to support the Oyetola administration and emphasised the need for the residents to continue to embrace Omoluabi ethos.

“On the part of the “Isese Day” participants, we urged
them to observe the COVID-19 Protocols especially the use of nose mask, social/physical distancing among other safety protocols before, during and after this year’s celebration.”

The famous POISON that silently makes Africans widows or widowers is the MAGGI CUBE

The famous POISON that silently makes Africans widows or widowers is the MAGGI CUBE

Yes Maggi in your everyday Soup and foods is a killer worst than HIV/AIDS, Ebola, covid-19 all joined together.

Are you shocked? Then read on..

Firstly it was created in 1886 by a Swiss named  Julius Maggi for LOW INCOME workers and the POOR, who could not afford to balance their diet with meat and fish because they were very expensive to them.

In order to provide a TASTE of meat and fish to the poor, JULIUS MAGGI introduced the Maggi cube with its famous red and yellow label on the packaging.

In 1886, after the Berlin conference, colonial masters were free to export whatever they produced to their colonies mostly in Africa. This was how Julius Maggi thought that there would be lucrative market in Africa for his product.

So he exported and ingeniously launched his advertising there. It began to gain recognition and patronage in 1910.

Prior to the introduction of Maggi to Nigerians, the local locust bean called IRU in Yoruba, DADDAWA in Hausa and OGIRI okpe in igbo  mixed with cray fish or dried fish was the traditional means of adding FLAVOUR and DELICACY to the soup.

All these mixtures have  much medicinal benefits and may have contributed to the long life span and physical fitness enjoyed by our forefathers.

Maggi was not popular in Nigeria until in the early 1970s when it started spreading very fast in the market as neighbours and communities introduced it to one another.

The product succeeded because maggi cube could be kept longer at higher temperatures and with the possibility of giving a better taste to the cooking whenever used.

The Knorr, Royco, Dangote cubes..etc are different brands competing with Maggi even though people generally regard all of them as Maggi.

Africans began and continue to put it in every dish despite the danger inherent in it.

DID YOU KNOW that Maggi contains a high level of MSG (MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE)? extremely high level of lead nearly seven times above human body needs, transfats LDL, sodium all of which damage s the Brain cells and increases chances of stroke..etc.

Nigeria has continued to witness several brands of the product including the white Ajinomoto in the 1980s to 90s which medical experts condemned as capable of affecting the human liver.

Millions of Maggi cubes are sold and consumed every day in Africa so the company had to expand by creating eleven factories in the region despite warnings of public health risk associated with the products.

Women, mostly ladies add as many cubes to their cookings to the extent of the level of sweetness they want the soup to produce. In many homes, the preparing of "moi moi" (steamed bean paste) akara (fried bean paste), beans, boiling fish etc cannot go without Maggi nowadays. African foods have the highest test in the world.

However, lots of people based on medical advice have wisely abandoned Maggi and have been using the traditional "iru" or crayfish as alternatives.

"Consuming the Maggi cube in every cooking is akin to increasing cardiovascular risks including hypertension ,diabetes and stroke (cerebrovascular). The risk is higher particularly when one advances in age as it weakens the heart functions" -Dr Olúṣọlá Ajólore. 09-12-2020.

With high rate of Maggi consumption could develop erectile disfunction, persistent waist pain and rheumatism.(i.e. Dissolve six cubes in a 750ml of water, give he goat to drink and it can't mate for at least six months.)

Maggi has been identified as having greater negative consequences on human health than sugar. Unknown to many the product  is primarily the contributing factor in many cases of strokes in Africa because of its continuous mass consumption during the active ages.

Take a little dive at Google or YouTube and find out the hazards of Maggi seasoning cube for yourself and spread the message to SAVE AFRICANS.

Joe Biden injected hope into Venezuela’s opposition, Guaidó's envoy says

Joe Biden injected hope into Venezuela’s opposition, Guaidó's envoy says

MIAMI – Opposition leader Juan Guaidó's envoy to the United States, Carlos Vecchio, said Friday that President Joe Biden took a very important step when he granted Temporary Protected Status to Venezuelans.

Vecchio said that with TPS Biden is making a statement to condemn Nicolás Maduro, who succeeded Hugo Chávez as the leader of the socialist Bolivarian Revolution in 2013.

Maduro has blamed Venezuelan poverty on U.S. sanctions on the state-run oil company. Guaidó blames failed socialist policies and repression for pushing the once-prosperous democracy into a humanitarian crisis.

“The main problem of Venezuela is not the sanctions,” Vecchio said. “The main problem of Venezuela is Maduro.”

China and Russia support Maduro, 58, and his unrelenting attacks to stay in power. U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken has said Biden supports Guaidó, 37, as Venezuela’s leader.

Guaidó, whose term expired on Jan. 5, Henrique Capriles, and other opposition leaders have managed to stay out of prison. Vecchio is among the interim government officials who are unable to go back to Venezuela over the fear of becoming political prisoners.

“With this protection now we will be more stable, in order to help us to raise the voice in favor of Venezuela,” Vecchio said. “And to bring more people, congressman, senators and the institution of the United States, to put more pressure to find a political solution in Venezuela.”

The story is familiar to the Cuban exiles who found refuge in South Florida when their efforts to remove Fidel Castro failed.

Meanwhile, Maduro is unable to stabilize the economy, so he announced ambitious plans to move to a fully digital economy. In the streets of Caracas, Venezuelans are mostly relying on the U.S. dollar.

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas designated Venezuelans for TPS until September 2022 when it’s likely Biden will grant a renewal of the policy.

“The living conditions in Venezuela reveal a country in turmoil, unable to protect its own citizens,” Mayorkas said in a statement during the announcement.

 AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL

PRESS RELEASE

28 October 2020

Nigeria: Authorities must stop attempts to cover up Lekki Toll Gate massacre – new investigative timeline

The Nigerian authorities’ must end their attempts to cover up the Lekki Toll Gate massacre, Amnesty International said, as it released a new timeline investigating the atrocity one week later.

The timeline – available here – collates photographs and video footage to confirm that Nigerian Army vehicles left Bonny Camp, a military base approximately a seven-minute drive from the toll gate, at 6:29pm local time on 20 October.

Footage then tracks the vehicles to the toll gate. At approximately 6:45pm, the Nigerian military opened fire on the #EndSars protesters who were peacefully calling for an end to police brutality.

“What happened at Lekki Toll Gate has all the traits of the Nigerian authorities’ pattern of a cover-up whenever their defence and security forces commit unlawful killings,” said Osai Ojigho, Country Director of Amnesty International.

“One week on, the Nigerian authorities still have many questions to answer: who ordered the use of lethal force on peaceful protesters? Why were CCTV cameras on the scene dismantled in advance? And who ordered electricity being turned off minutes before the military opened fire on protesters?

“The initial denials of the involvement of soldiers in the shooting was followed by the shameful denial of the loss of lives as a result of the military’s attack against the protests.

“Many people are still missing since the day of the incident, and credible evidence shows that the military prevented ambulances from reaching the severely injured in the aftermath.”

Amnesty International is again calling on Nigerian authorities to bring to justice those behind the shooting and to protect those who are exercising their right to freedom of assembly. The organization is still investigating the shooting, and the reported removal of bodies of those killed by the military in an attempt to remove evidence.

Tracking the military’s movements

Amnesty International’s Crisis Response experts investigated and verified social media videos and photographs that confirm the Nigerian security forces were present at the Lekki Toll Gate when the shootings occurred.

At 6:29pm local time in Lagos, two military vehicles were filmed leaving Bonny Camp on videos shared on social media. Later footage shows four vehicles with flashing lights in a convoy, and they appear to be vehicles used by the Nigerian military and police.

profile picture from Osogbo EndSars protest
The same vehicles head east along Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue - which changes its name to the Lekki-Epe Expressway - in the direction of the Lekki Toll Gate. On this route, the vehicles pass several international embassies and consulates, including the Japanese Embassy and the Australian High Commission.

Further photographs and footage capture the vehicles arriving at the toll gate, before the peaceful protest is disrupted by men in military uniform and gunfire is heard. As night time descended, protesters continued to film and share videos of the shootings. Later in the evening, videos of the victims were also shared on social media.

Background

Amnesty International has been monitoring developments across Nigeria since the #EndSars protest began on 8 October 2020.

Nigerians have been taking to the streets, peacefully demanding an end to police brutality, extrajudicial executions and extortion by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a unit of the Nigerian police tasked with fighting violent crimes.

At least 56 people have died across the country since protests began. In multiple cases, the security forces have used excessive force in an attempt to control or stop the protests.

*PRESS STATEMENT #ENDSARS MOVEMENT, OSUN STATE*

_20th of October 2020._

It was with genuity and clarity of purpose that we started our peaceful protest against police brutality on the 07th of October 2020. It should hereby be noted that since the beginning of the peaceful protest, we have acted in accordance to the law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and all activities and engagement of the protesters have been within the confines of the law. We maintain that it is our democratic right to voice out our pains and grievances in the face of any oppression and injustice, and these have formed the basis and the catalyst of the massive turn out of the Osun State Youths in protest against the excesses and high-handedness of State Anti-Robbery Squad SARS, a notorious unit of the Nigeria Police Force, NPF.

On Saturday, 17th of October, 2020. It makes it the 10th day on the barricade, despite the growing agitations, the Government of Osun State did not for once attempt to address or at least hear the pains and demands of the peaceful protesters. Rather, they contracted their very known mentally wretched thugs, the person of Asiri Eniba and his cohorts to unleash terror on the people with different set of weapons. Containing but not limited to; guns, cutlasses, axes, diverse set of knives and scary looking charms. Some were killed while several protesters were wounded, leaving the scene in a gory condition.

The following day, we gathered in our peaceful nature. Few hours into our peaceful procession, shortly before the Muslim Youths were to pray for Jumat being a Friday, we heard the hoodlums were gathering again to disrupt the peaceful gathering. We were defenseless, as we've never planned to attack anyone. In our innocent bid not to hurt anyone and at the same time not run away from the barricade because of some despicable thugs who can go as far as killing for Mr Gboyega Oyetola whose parochial interests are bigger than that of the Nigerian peoples, as long as they are paid, given the authority to oppress and extort the people of Osun, and also given shield against all criminal activities and atrocities against humanity committed in the past by Asiri Eniba. They were shouting in loud and almost in chorus "Won ti sanwo emi e", which means "we've been paid to kill you" as they chase us away from the barricade with their scary-looking weapons the previous day; Thursday, 15th of October 2020. In defence, the non-muslims formed a perimeter around Muslim brothers while they are observing their Solat in obvious formation to protect them against any external attack.

In all these, without any intention for undue mischief, it should be clearly seen and noted that the formation and comportment of #EndSars struggle of Osun has no quotation of violence whatsoever. We can recall on Thursday 8th of October, 2020. When we went to the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Olarewaju Farouq calmly addressed us and commended our peaceful manner and nature of the protest. Same was reiterated by the Secretary to the State Government Prince Oluwole Oyebamiji SSG on the 09th of October, 2020. When we marched in peaceful procession to Government House; all of these have video and pictorial evidences that further buttress the peaceful nature of this struggle.

On Saturday, 17th of October 2020. The governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola after ruthless attempt to violently disperse the protest failed, and this dirty stunts become so unpopular within the public domain, Mr Gboyega Oyetola in a bid to safe his face and redeemed his spoilt reputation from such coward and disappointing act, agreed to meet with the protesters on the barricade. It should be noted that despite the fact of delaying the youths for several days and hours on that very day, we maintained our calmness and composure and even cheered and welcomed the Governor into our midst. Things were going fine until the people asked Mr Governor to do for them what he is paid to do. We would like to remind the general public at this junction that the primary responsibility of any responsible government is to secure lives and properties; which was why we demanded that the Governor arrest Asiri Eniba since he denied he never had anything to do with the thugs whatsoever. The primary duty of saving life and properties was flagrantly disobeyed. The reluctance of the Governor confirmed all suspicion and this increased the agitations in the aggrieved youths. To counter the claim of Mr Governor, we gave him facts and figures of how he sent his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Omipidan and the Commissioner for Environment Oladepo Sholagbade to Asiri Eniba with #4million to mobilise thugs and disperse a peaceful protest. Before we finished making our point, the thugs came out with cutlasses, axes and guns and dispersed the peaceful gathering and in the process we lost two of our brothers (Mutiu Lateef aka Fresh and Halimi Olamilekan Ahmed) who were shot multiple times and several others severely injured. In contrary to Mr Governor's narratives, we believe it was a pre-planned and calculated attack on the peaceful demonstration. The two assassinated protesters were shot from behind multiple times and other places that suggests they were never a threat to the shooter.

We believe the #4million disbursed to mobilise thugs and the several millions used in selling false narratives to the media could have gone a long way in reversing some of the adverse conditions the people of Osun were subjected to only if properly managed and utilised.

We condemn in strong terms the death of our brothers under the instruction and watch of Mr Governor. We wish to say none of the deceased died from accident or any active engagement on the barricade. The only accident and injury sustained was promptly controlled and adequately attended to, and the victim of the accident as at the time of writing this press release is hale and healthy and standing by us. Every death and injury sustained on the 17th of 0ctober, 2020 was from the Governor's entourage of thugs and the unguided approach of his convoy.

In this light, without further delay or compromise, we hereby demand the following;

👉🏼All the thugs that attacked the governor be arrested and prosecuted;

👉🏼All the so-called thugs who looted Osun Mall be also arrested and prosecuted as we are vehemently against any act of looting and other unlawful practices;

👉🏼All the persons involved in the disruption of our peaceful protest be immediately arrested and prosecuted, as the Governor cannot sell to us the story that he is incapacitated in dispensing his constitutional responsibility in securing lives and properties;

We maintain that we the youths of Osun State retain the rights to peacefully protest against the inadequacies of the government until freedom is attained. We will continue to agitate for our demand to #EndSars #EndSwat #EndPoliceBrutality #EndBadGoverment and no amount of intimidation will discourage us from the revolutionary path to liberation. We also demand justice for all our fallen heroes and all persons involved in their death be brought to book.

Our prayers goes to the families of the deceased, may the Almighty grant them the fortitude to bear the loss. And may their gentle souls rest in perfect peace.

PRESS STATEMENT: SPN CONDEMNS THE BRUTALISATION, ARREST AND DETENTION OF REVOLUTIONNOW PROTESTERS AND JOURNALISTS

PRESS STATEMENT: SPN CONDEMNS THE BRUTALISATION, ARREST AND DETENTION OF REVOLUTIONNOW PROTESTERS AND JOURNALISTS

WE DEMAND THE IMMEDIATE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL ARRESTED PROTESTERS

Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) condemns the brutalization, arrest and detention of RevolutionNow protesters and journalists in different parts of the country on Thursday 1st October 2020 being the 60th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence. Particularly in Lagos, about 30 protesters were arrested and a Punch Newspaper reporter brutalized by trigger happy police men. We demand the immediate and unconditional release of all protesters across the country. We support the demands of the protesters against the increase in fuel price and electricity tariff as well as the general hardship in the country.

Hakeem Odumosu, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police and other police officers and Department of State Service (DSS) operatives across the country have reconfirmed their attack dog status by attacking peaceful protesters in Lagos. We would recall that the antecedents of Hakeem Odumosu as the head of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) for several years before he was appointed the Commissioner of Police was characterized by violations of the rights of Nigerians. These attacks against peaceful protest and freedom of speech are also being carried out by the police across the federation. It should be clear to many that the Police and the Military are structured to protect the interest of a privileged few at the expense of the vast majority.

We also recall that the Police also attacked the protest led by the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) on September 10, 2020, wherein 14 protesters and 4 journalists were arrested and detained. Police repeated the same brutality on September 16, 2020, in a protest led by Joint Action Front (JAF).

The Buhari-led government just like the previous civilian governments has taken Nigeria back to the inglorious jackboot military era wherein the fundamental human rights of Nigerians are willfully and brazenly attacked. The Buhari-led government and Nigeria Police blatantly violate Chapter IV of the 1999 Constitution (Fundamental Human Rights of Section 33-43) through its policies and actions. The fundamental human rights of Nigerians to freedom of speech, freedom to protest, freedom of assembly etc., are inalienable rights.

We are aware that President Buhari wants to brutalize Nigerians into accepting his anti-poor economic policies including the recent hikes in fuel and electricity tariff. We call on the working masses and youths to remain undaunted in the face of these attacks. We should continue to organize resistance against anti-poor policies of deregulation, privatization including hikes in electricity tariff and petrol prices and fight for a country wherein the interest of all is protected. We of the SPN hold that an economy built and sustained on a capitalist programme especially with neo-liberal policies is recipe for disaster and undermines the economic interest of the vast majority of the working masses. An economy that will rescue Nigeria, industrialize it, create jobs on a massive scale and plan production and services to meet the needs of all would have to be nationalized (major sectors and industries to be publicly owned) and democratically controlled by the working people. This is the starting point of what we mean by socialism. We call on the working masses and youth to join us in the struggle to build a better Nigeria where the needs of all, not the greed of few form the basis of governance and economy. Despite mounting repression, the struggle to liberate Nigeria continues and victory is certain!

#MESSAGE

Several years ago, I promised to visit one of my Pastors. I had told him I would stay only a few minutes, pray and leave.

Since he wanted me to stay a bit longer, he devised a means.

He got a very good collection of hymns and started playing just before I arrived. I ended up staying for hours.

Do you know God will cut His visit to some homes short if the environment is not conducive?

“…therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.” – Deuteronomy 23:14

My Father-in-the-Lord – Pa Josiah Akindayomi, once preached a message about this.

He said we must keep our houses clean if we want God there.

God detests dirt so much that if He finds any unclean thing in a camp, He leaves (Deuteronomy 23:14).

He asked: When last did you clean under your bed? If it is full of dust and dirt, God cannot stay.

Those who work with me know that, if you claimed to have cleaned a room and I find dust at the top of the door, you may have to repeat the cleaning because I want anywhere I am to be conducive for God to stay.

Pa Akindayomi also taught us that God cannot stay where ungodly music is played.

This is because music carries a spirit with it. If you play godly music, the spirit of God will stay, but if you play worldly music, demons are invited to stay.

What kind of music do you play in your home?. This can determine if God will stay in your home or not.

Finally, God is love. He cannot stay where strife and bitterness persist.

If you are always fighting and insulting your spouse, you are sending God away.

Instead, pray together, raise an altar of praise in your home.

Once there is an altar where you and your family meet to pray and praise God, you can be sure He will dwell with you for as long as you want Him to.

Jesus loves you and He wants to stay in your home; make it conducive for Him today.

KEY POINT

Using the lessons learnt today, make sure everything is in place for your home to be conducive for God to stay in when He comes.

HYMNAL

DEEPER, DEEPER IN THE LOVE OF JESUS

1. Deeper, deeper in the love of Jesus
Daily let me go;
Higher, higher in the school of wisdom,
More of grace to know.

CHORUS
O deeper yet I pray,
And higher evry day,
And wiser, blessed, Lord,
In Thy precious, holy Word.

2. Deeper, deeper! blessed Holy Spirit,
Take me deeper still,
Till my life is wholly lost in Jesus,
And His perfect will.

3. Deeper, deeper! tho it cost hard trials,
Deeper let me go!
Rooted in the holy love of Jesus,
Let me fruitful grow.

4. Deeper, higher, evry day in Jesus,
Till all conflict past,
Finds me conquror, and in His own image
Perfected at last.

“THE LIGHTHOUSE SQUAD!” - 19

( The sequel to *Teacher Chuks*)
©️Opeyemi O.Akintunde
As Inspired by the LIVING WORD.

It was past 10pm, when Akanbi got to the Lighthouse.

“ Sir, we are here!” Shola said

“ I can see that!” Akanbi said looking around the place. The place looked a bit familiar.

“ Have I been here before?” Akanbi asked his long serving Assistant

“ Yes! About 18 years ago... Uyai used to use this place as a brothel.!” Shola replied

“ Oh! Uyai... where is she? I hope she is not the priestess we are here to see! Maybe she has moved from prostitution to ritualism! Interesting!” Akanbi said.

“ Would you like to go in or I should ask that she comes to see you!” Shola asked

“ But I hope she is the same person as Favour Aribisala! She must have changed her name for identity sake! So ask for Favour Aribisala, that way we hide the fact that we know her. It will be a last joker on my end if she proves stubborn.”

“ Ok sir!” Shola said. Shola alighted from the vehicle and walked towards the security gate.

“ Good Evening Sir! My name is Shola, My Boss Akanbi Damino is here to see Madam Favour Aribisala!” Shola said

“ Madam Favour! at this time? No, you will have to come in the morning... but Wait! Who did you say is your boss?” The Security man said

“ Akanbi Damino!” Shola confirmed

“ The Same Akanbi Damino... you mean Damino!... Rich Damino!” The security man couldn’t wrap his mind around the thought that Akanbi Damino would be in the same space with him.

“ Yes!” Shola answered impatiently while trying to maintain his cool

“Ah! God has said today will be good! You see, Aunty Favour! I mean Madam Favour doesn’t see strangers or visitors at night, but since it is Akanbi Damino I will help you break the rules!”
The security man said...

“ Thank you! And we will not disappoint you!” Shola said bringing out a bundle of clean currency. Shola stretched it out to the security who out of shock could not collect the money! The money looked like what he would earn in two years!

“ What?”

“ Just an appreciation token ahead of you making us see Madam Favour!” Shola said

“ Ah! Ok... I don’t mind losing my job tonight... You see they have locked all the entrances to the building... So I will pull a big one....Just hold on... “ the security man collected the money. Kept it in his room and rushed towards the fire alarm switch...

“ God, forgive me for what I am about to do! You are the one who said wisdom is profitable to direct!” the security said to Himself

“ Is this wisdom or lies?” The voice replied

“ God, everything is the same!” He said and he pressed the switched down. Followed was the loud sound of the siren!

Favour was asleep, she was having a dream. In the dream, She was thirty and needed water. She saw a big bowl of water. A man stood by the big bowl.

“ I need water!” Favour said to the man

“ It’s free, you can take from it.!” The man replied

Favour looked at the water and it dawned on her that she had no cup to take water from the big bowl.

“ You need a cup!” The man said

“ Yes and at the moment I don’t have a cup to take this water...

“You can use that!” The man pointed Favour to a dirty cup

“ A dirty cup?” Favour asked

“ Yes!” The man said

“ Can you use a dirty cup to get clean water?” Favour asked

“ Yes! If you do what is right!”

“ Out! Everyone! Everyone!” Chuks called out

All the housemates rushed out to the Fire Assembly point. Favour ensured she was the last person. She knew Chuks was going to handle whatever the source of Fire was.

***********
Shola was walking towards Akanbi in the vehicle...

“ What’s wrong? What’s with the alarm?” Akanbi asked

“ It was a stunt pulled by the guard to have Madam Favour out of her room. He said she doesn’t see anyone after 10pm...!”

“ Oh! Uyai now has standards!” Akanbi laughed

“ I will let you know once she is out!” Shola said...

Mrs Uyai stepped out and Shola spotted her immediately...

“ I think that is her over there!” Shola said and with that Akanbi stepped out of the Vehicle

Akanbi approached the gate with four of his armed bodyguards...

“ Madam Favour Aribisala!” He said shouting towards Mrs Uyai. “ I have found you and I need to speak with you!”

Mrs Uyai walked towards the gate...

“ Sorry Sir! Good evening sir, I am not Favour Aribisala, She is inside, but I am afraid you can’t see her tonight, especially with the fire incident !” Mrs Uyai said

“ Madam Uyai quit playing, I know you very well. I have been here a couple of times. I know you are Favour Aribisala.. Besides there was no fire attack! We paid your guard to cause a distraction!” Akanbi blurted out

Mrs Uyai was surprised, she looked towards the guard in disappointment.

“ Sorry, who are you?” MRS Uyai asked as she couldn’t see him clearly.

“ Damino..!” Akanbi responded

“ Damino? Akanbi Damino ? “ Mrs Uyai asked

By this time, Favour and Chuks had walked towards the gate on seeing Mrs Uyai talking to a Stranger...

“ Mama Uyai, is everything alright!” Chuks said as they walked closer

“ Yes...Yesss... I mean no... We have Mr Akanbi Damino here asking to see Miss Favour and I am trying to tell him, he can’t see her this night!” Mrs Uyai said trying to hide Favour’s Identity

Chuks and Favour stopped in their tracks...

Akanbi Damino!

The name caused shivers for the duo. Favour wanted to run back to the house but she casted out the Spirit Of Fear.

“ For God has not given me the Spirit Of Fear, But Of love, power, and sound mind!” Favour said inwardly

“ Mr Akanbi Damino, do you have an appointment with her?” Favour asked

“ No & Yes...” Akanbi said

“Which is your answer?” Favour replied

“ Choose Anyone you like!” Akanbi retorted. He was getting tired of the question game going on...

“ Then I choose “No” as I am the closest person to her, she didn’t mention having an appointment with you Sir. So, I suggest you come back in the morning...!” Favour said with authority in her voice

Akanbi went into few minutes of silence...

“ You are a very good Personal Assistant, if you ever consider looking for a more paying job in the future, my door is wide open...”

“ I don’t work for the pay, I work for the impact!”

“ Impact? What impact?”

“ Impact on other lives, blessing lives... Here, we impact lives...!”

This is an opposite of what Akanbi was expecting....

“ Favour! Favour!” Tina said from afar off...

Akanbi Damino was surprised that Favour was Favour!

“ You are the Favour! The one with the Spiritual power!” Akanbi said not hiding his disappointment. His eyes ran all over her body. He was expecting someone big, someone expensively dressed but Favour looked so simple in her simple night dress...

“ Yes, I am She!” Favour replied

“ You are the one I travelled miles to see?” Akanbi asked again

“ Yes! and I am sorry I won’t be able to see you tonight!”

“ I don’t even intend seeing you? How old are you?” Akanbi asked with disbelief lacing his voice

“ The one who lives in me, who you have driven far to see, is ageless...” Favour replied

“ Isshhhhhh” Akanbi hissed and walked away from the gate back to his car. He couldn’t believe the ridicule...

Shola knew what that movement meant! It was time to leave...Shola entered the Vehicle

“ Sir, I will suggest we find a very good hotel to pass the night. The drivers of the vehicles need to rest their bodies.” Shola said carefully

“ Fine!” Akanbi said

**********
“ How did he trace us?” Tina said pacing up and down. “ I told you Akanbi wasn’t Someone to toy with, you shouldn’t have encouraged him yesterday. You should have blocked him!”

“ Tina, take a chill pill, at least nothing has happened to us. Akanbi has left, obviously he was disappointed on seeing us. He sees us as having nothing to offer. He won’t be attacking us!” Chuks said

“ Like seriously! Chuks why are you taking this way? You know the SCA, a phone call from Akanbi to the president or governor of the state, this place will be brought down to ruins. Now that he knows who we are and how inconsequential we are, expect the worse...!” Tina said

“ We are not inconsequential...God who lives in us is mighty! I may not understand all that is happening but I trust God to bring out a big testimony from all that is happening!” Favour said

As she ended her words, her phone rang. Everyone stood still, they were expecting the worse!

Favour picked up her phone and answered the call on speaker so the other 3 could hear...

“ Hello, Good Evening... is that Miss Favour Aribisala of the Lighthouse Foundation.?” A female voice said

“ Yes please Who is speaking? “

“ Mrs Toyin Ajinatu, the First Lady of the state!”

“ First Lady?” Favour asked again

“ Yes ma! I took your number from the list of registered foundations in the state!”

“ Ok ma’am!”

“ I have seven young ones who we just took off the street in one of our Hope campaign and I am looking for a home for them. I would like to know if your home can be available for them to stay for a month till we get them permanent
guardians. I was particularly moved by your mission statement, which is to raise God fearing youths. This Young ones need God... “

“ Ok ma’am!” Favoured answered “But ma...” Favour was saying before the voice cut in

“ And don’t bother about their feeding, I will send you A million to cater for their feeding for the one month! The account details of the Lighthouse is right here as well” The voice said...

Favour was still thinking about the whole thing and how the government could have their account details but the woman concluded...

“ Thank you so much! I will have the State’s Hope team bring them over. Good night Miss Favour!” The woman ended the call...

“ A new addition!” Tina said

“ 7 new additions!” Chuks replied “Favour, Can’t you see God is with us.”

“ Huh Huh!” Favour replied half heartedly as she was trying to search her spirit...

“ I don’t feel we need New addition at this time, especially 7 of them, that will be a handful!” MRS Uyai replied

Tina saw a flash of an event!

“ Fire!” Tina blurted out

“ What?” Chuks asked

“ I saw a fire incident! I don’t know if it has happened or is happening at the moment or will happen!” Tina said

“ That’s not a good sign!” Chuks said

Favour heard her phone beep....

A sum of two million had been deposited into her account with the description “ Hope team” and the sender was indeed the name of the First Lady.

“ She has sent two million!” Favour said

The others were quiet...

“Too many things happening in one night! I think we should pray!” Chuks suggested

*********
“ Brilliant! Now deliver the agents right away!” Linda said

Linda said to Abua , the tech guy at the SCA Warehouse... He had made the work really simple. He had manipulated Linda’s voice to sound just like the First Lady and they had wired some money to Favour’s account....

“ Now! Let’s play this game!” Linda said our in laughter.

American Pompeo, Russian Lavrov discuss P5 Summit to commemorate 75th anniversary of the UN

American Pompeo, Russian Lavrov discuss P5 Summit to commemorate 75th anniversary of the UN

The United States of America said Monday that it spoke with Russia about convening a summit of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, an initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In a telephone call, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov "discussed convening P5 leaders in the near future to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations," the State Department said.

Today, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and I discussed convening a summit of the P5 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the @UN, which we celebrate this year.
— Secretary Pompeo (@SecPompeo) July 13, 2020

The summit would include President Xi Jinping of China, with which the United States has deteriorating relations, as well as French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The statement did not say when and where such a five-way summit may take place.

Trump has separately voiced openness to inviting Putin to the Washington area for an expanded summit of the Group of Seven industrial democracies.

Under Putin, Moscow's role in the World War II victory against Nazi Germany in 1945 has increasingly dominated historical discussion, and he has complained that the West has diminished the Soviet contribution.

He renewed the call for the summit, saying the COVID-19 pandemic would be discussed, in an opinion piece he wrote last month for the US magazine The National Interest.

Some analysts see Putin's piece as part of his efforts to shore up support ahead of a July 1 referendum in which Russians gave him the right to stay in power until 2036.

The State Department had said it was troubled over the conduct of the vote, but the statement on Pompeo's call with Lavrov did not mention the referendum.

It said, however, that the two discussed Afghanistan and that Pompeo raised election security.

Washington has been in uproar over reports that Russian intelligence paid bounties for Taliban-linked fighters to kill US forces in Afghanistan.

US intelligence found that Russia intervened in the 2016 elections to support Trump, who has bristled at the charges and called for better ties with Putin.

Border clashes broke out because Chinese soldiers pushed Indian troops: New Delhi

Border clashes broke out because Chinese soldiers pushed Indian troops: New Delhi

Over the last two days, troops from India and China have been involved in several stand-offs leaving soldiers injured on both sides.

According to the Indian defence ministry, the first clash took place near Naku La in North Sikkim while the second one took place Nallah in Ladakh.

Reacting to the consecutive clashes, the Chinese foreign ministry on Monday claimed that their troops remained committed to upholding peace and stability in the border region. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said that the two Asian giants should manage and handle their differences.

“As to the China-India border issue, our position is clear and consistent. Our troops there are committed to uphold peace and stability. This serves the common interests of our two countries and two peoples. We hope India will work with China to uphold peace and tranquillity in the border regions with concrete actions,” Lijian said.

However, sources in the Indian defence ministry claimed that the physical altercation erupted after the Chinese pushed Indian soldiers aggressively near the the Pangong Tso lake.

The Indian side said that the issue was resolved at the local commander level. India and China have been involved in several face-offs over the years as the 2,400 mile boundary between the two countries is loosely marked.

“The short and temporary face offs are resolved as per the established protocols at the local level between the troops,” the official said.

As per the government data, Chinese troops have transgressed into Indian Territory as many as 752 times in the last two years.

In North Sikkim where the two sides were involved in a scuffle, the Indian Armed forces have lost two helicopters since 7 May, which indicates increased movement by Indian side as well.

In the Ladakh sector, defence sources confirmed that two Chinese helicopters also arrived on their side of the Line of Actual Control after an Indian helicopter visited near Pangong Tso lake on 5 May.

In 2017, troops from both countries were involved in a two- and-a-half month long standoff after the Indian army objected to road construction by the Chinese in Doklam region, a tri-junction at the border that separates India, Bhutan, and China.

A stalemate in relations was created and the situation normalised only after both sides agreed to disengage in August 2018.

Border standoffs between Indian and Chinese troops occur at regular intervals at different parts along the Line of Actual Control between the two nations, a loosely demarcated line between India and China.

We are Battle ready to use nuclear arsenal despite COVID-19 outbreak - US Air Force claims

The American military remains combat-ready and prepared to utilise its nuclear arsenal if the US ends up in a major armed conflict even despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus outbreak US Air Force Global Strike Commander Tim Ray has said in a statement.

“Rest assured, we have taken the necessary steps to make sure our bomber and ICBM forces are ready to go and can reach any target on the planet at any time. We are fully mission ready and COVID-19 will not change that. Our forces continue to maintain an extremely high level of readiness and responsiveness”, Tim Ray said.

The Air Force statement clarifies that it began developing procedures to operate during the pandemic and keep its personnel healthy while the coronavirus was still confined within China’s borders in January. The developed containment plans allowed the USAF to limit the spread of the virus allowing both its aircraft and missile force crews to remain operational.

To achieve that the Air Force had to adopt certain measures ensuring “certain degrees of isolation” to keep the teams separate while preserving the operability of its intercontinental missiles and nuclear-capable bombers.

“We get paid to do this mission under all conditions. Not just some, but all conditions. This is a terrible set of circumstances, but we have to be prepared to do this job under far worse circumstances”, the US AFGW commander added.

However, despite all efforts to contain the disease, some 6,754 servicemen have been infected across the American military, according to 29 April data from the Department of Defence.

The outbreak has affected several US foreign bases and two deployed aircraft carriers. The military has not always been able to detect the source of the COVID-19 infection with its origin on board of the USS Theodore Roosevelt still reportedly a mystery.

The Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE yesterday, 25 April 2020, executed air strikes which neutralized several Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters at Kolloram on the fringes of the Lake Chad in Borno State.

According to Major General John Enenche, Coordinator of the Defence Media Operations (CDMO), in the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) who made the disclosure in an operation update released to the media said the terrorists were neutralized by the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on Saturday, at Kolloram on the fringes of the Lake Chad in Borno State.

UK PM Boris Johnson ‘in good shape’ after contracting coronavirus

UK PM Boris Johnson ‘in good shape’ after contracting coronavirus

LONDON (AFP) - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who is recovering after contracting the new coronavirus, is “in very good shape”, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said on Friday (April 24).

Johnson, 55, spent a week in hospital, including three days in intensive care, before being discharged on April 12.  “I spoke to him yesterday, he is in very good shape and is clearly recovering,” Hancock told Sky News, but said it was not yet known when he would return to work.

“I am sure he will come back as soon as his doctors recommend it,” amid speculation Johnson would return to his Downing Street office on Monday.  “The decision has not been made but he is taking calls and staying in touch.”

Hancock, who himself contracted the virus, said Johnson had spoken to Queen Elizabeth II and US President Donald Trump in recent days.

The US leader told a Washington press conference on Thursday that Johnson was full of “tremendous energy”.

“He called me a few days ago, I will tell you he sounded incredible,” Trump said.

“I was actually surprised... he was ready to go. I’m very surprised to tell you this. It’s like the old Boris, tremendous energy, tremendous drive.”

Britain has been one of the hardest hit countries by the pandemic with 18,738 hospital deaths.

However, the death toll could be much higher once officials count fatalities at care homes and in the community, which take longer to be included in the official statistics.

Johnson’s government has introduced a number of social distancing measures to stop the spread of the disease.

Hancock also said Friday that it was “too soon” to relax the measures in place over fears of a “second wave” of the virus.

COVID-19: Berlin offers 'unlimited' credit to help companies hurt by virus crisis

COVID-19: Berlin offers 'unlimited' credit to help companies hurt by virus crisis

Berlin has promised “unlimited” credit to help companies hit by the coronavirus pandemic as part of postwar Germany’s biggest help package worth at least 550 billion euros.

“There is no upper limit to the credit offered by (state-owned development bank) KfW, that’s the most important message,” Finance Minister Olaf Scholz said on Friday .

The guarantees, the equivalent of $614 billion, were just “for starters”, said Economy Minister Peter Altmaier.

“We promised that we will not fail because of a lack of money and political will. This means that no healthy company, no job should find themselves in trouble,” he said.

“We will reload our weapons if necessary,” added Altmaier.

The package, even in its first stage, is bigger than the 500 billion-euro help offered by the German government during the 2008 financial crisis.

Chancellor Angela Merkel had on Wednesday vowed to do what it takes to tame the coronavirus crisis, signalling she was even ready to suspend the cherished dogma of keeping Germany’s budget balanced.
