PRESENTATION BY THE NIGERIA MOVEMENT TO THE AFRICA 2021 VIRTUAL CONTINENTAL CONFERENCE OF SOLIDARITY WITH CUBA  FACILITATED BY THE CUBAN INSTITUTE OF FRIENDSHIP WITH THE PEOPLES, HAVANA, HOLDING  ON OCTOBER 7, 2021.

We must not tire, we cannot be defeated!

1. Revolutionary greetings to all delegates of the African Solidarity Movements and Friendship Associations with Cuba participating at this special virtual conference facilitated by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) We note with regret that due to the COVID-19 pandemic which made large physical gatherings unsafe, the 7th African Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba scheduled for Mozambique, could not hold.

2. We salute President Fernando Gonzalez and the entire team of dutiful and committed members of ICAP for their sacrifices and faithfulness to the ideals of the Cuban Revolution in sustaining the commendable tradition of solidarity and friendship with us the African people and our organisations in the defence of humanity.

3. The Nigeria Movement speaks here with painful feelings but fond memories of two unforgettable comrades who departed after our 2019 conference. We lost in May 2020 Comrade AbdulKareem Aka-Motajo – who at his demise was the President of the Nigeria-Cuba Friendship and Cultural Association and a leader of the Nigeria Movement of Solidarity with Cuba. Then in September, 2021 we lost the immediate past Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria – Companero Carlos Trejo Sosa. Both comrade Motajo and Ambassador Trejo were instrumental to the successful hosting of the 6th African Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba which held in Nigeria from September 23 – 25, 2019. In a part of the tribute to Ambassador Trejo by the Nigeria Movement, we had said: Ambassador Trejo meant everything to us in the Nigeria Movement of Solidarity with Cuba. He was the initiator of uniting the various groups in Nigeria with relations or association with Cuba under the banner of a single solidarity movement. He was also central to the inauguration of the Nigeria Movement of Solidarity with Cuba. Companero Trejo was a lively, resourceful, highly knowledgeable, widely experienced and friendly personality with whom we shared pleasantries and confidence! These comrades are unforgettable.

4. We should at this virtual Conference affirm that the relationship between Nigeria and Cuba is symbiotic and deeply rooted in shared historical and cultural heritage. It is not possible to speak of Cuba and the Cuban without reference to the tremendous influences of African, especially, Nigerian cultures. Hence, at these times of the tightening of the criminal US Blockade against Cuba with over 243 punitive economic, financial and commercial measures, targeted at crippling the Cuban people, we the Nigeria Movement cannot be indifferent. We are resolved to stand with Cuba as a DUTY to defend the Cuban people and the unparalleled gains of the Cuban Revolution. We declare to the whole world that Cuba is never, and will never be alone!

5. We acknowledge that despite the hardship that Cuba is facing as a result of the blockade, the sudden outbreak of the Delta variant of the COVID-19 and the ill-fated US plot of insidious protest and campaigns of internal destabilisation aimed at collapsing the Revolution, the Cuban people have remained firm and resolute in the defence of truth, principles and ideals of Humanity! Cuba’s role and the sacrifices of her medical brigades in saving lives in over 57 countries, remains an exemplary and unparalleled achievement, for which the Cuban White Shirts deserve the Nobel Peace Prize.

6. \At this point in addressing solidarity with Cuba and facing the future together in the defence of Humanity, permit me to reiterate the ACTION PLAN FOR THE AFRICAN MOVEMENT OF FRIENDSHIP AND SOLIDARITY WITH CUBA as adopted at the 6th AFRICAN CONTINENTAL MEETING OF SOLIDARITY WITH CUBA.

The plan which as a result of the pandemic has largely not been implemented,   is to:

Promote the legacy of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the Cuban People in Africa, in the form of conferences, commemorative activities, panels, political events in different countries.

Expand the solidarity movement in Africa to include amongst others, all graduates of Cuba and their families.

Strengthen and increase the relationship between political forces, trade unions, youth organizations, women's organizations and friendship associations with Cuba.

Strengthen the links amongst the solidarity organizations with Cuba in the different countries of the continent by encouraging the exchange of experiences.

Address the people and Congress of the United States with requests to end the illegal and inhuman blockade against Cuba, the Helms Burton Act, the activation of its Title III and the illegal occupation of Guantanamo by the United States.

Perform, on the 17th of each month, actions demanding the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States government, the end of the aggressive escalation and the return of the territory occupied by the illegal Naval Base in Guantanamo. These should include sending letters to the US government, marches in front of US Embassies/ Consulates, among others.

Engage the Parliament in every African country and the African Union to approve Resolutions demanding that America ends its illegal and inhuman blockade against Cuba and its illegal occupation of Guantanamo.

Reinforce actions of solidarity, information dissemination and support for the cause of the Palestine and Saharawi peoples and solidarity with former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and the Bolivarian Revolution.

Promote brigades, caravans, and socio-political groups in all countries through Amistur, on the 60th anniversary of ICAP and the Cuban Revolution.

Build International Volunteer and Solidarity Work Brigades with Cuba.

Develop communication strategies including television, radio, social networks, and other platforms for the dissemination of the Cuban reality.

Intensify the use of social networks as platform to denounce hostile policies against Cuba and in response to disinformation campaigns against the Cuban people.

Support Cuban collaborators, especially doctors, in different countries and popularize the impact of their work in various communities.

Draw up strategies for the creation of solidarity organizations with Cuba in those African countries where they are not yet established.

Prioritize the rejuvenation of the structures that make up the Solidarity Movement with Cuba in a creative and comprehensive way.

CONCLUSION:

The solidarity actions with Cuba, is like a marathon race in which we must not tire so long as imperialism does not tire   or is defeated. As you know, a people united by noble ideas and whose hearts beat in unison for the development of humanity, can never be defeated! There is victory for us!!  Solidarity, forever!!!

Cuba Will Outlive the US Criminal Blockade!

Ever Onward to the Cuban Revolution!

US Blockade: Don’t Believe All that You Hear —Here's What’s Really Going On in Cuba

US Blockade: Don’t Believe All that You Hear —Here's What’s Really Going On in Cuba

The emails kept coming in… From farmers and students and chefs and academics whom I’d taken to that tiny island country over the past two decades to learn about her leadership in sustainable agriculture, cooperatives, and growing food in cities: What’s REALLY going on in Cuba?” they asked.

Yes, Cubans are feeling frustrated. Sixty years of an economic blockade by Washington, over 200 additional measures of economic strangulation by Trump, and now—for the past 17 months—a tourism economy shut down by COVID (now raging, thanks to the Delta variant) have plunged Cuba back to the dark days of the Special Period, when the Soviet Union collapsed and so too did Cuba’s economy. Except this time, Cubans who left government jobs for the hard currency lure of the tourism sector are out of work. People are feeling desperate.

Thanks to policy measures led by Raul Castro in 2011 that opened the country to small enterprise and cooperatives, Cuba’s economy pre-Trump and pre-COVID was flourishing, despite the punishing impact of the U.S. embargo.

Then came Trump. Then came COVID. Like a triple witching hour, investors long agitating to open socialist Cuba to capitalism began jingling in their pockets the coins of influence and paying very close attention.

Could Cuba’s current financial woes finally be the crack that lets the “capitalist light” come in? Could they get rid of this pesky and tenacious socialist government on their doorstep and open Cuba to investment? Well worth the cost of throwing some extra pesos to Cuban dissidents to go to the streets. Playing to international TV cameras with chants of “Down with the Dictator”.

Seriously? Anyone following Cuban politics knows why calling Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez a dictator is absurd. His address to the nation (carried by BBC but not CBC) spoke eloquently to the false narrative being fed by global media.

Yes, in this difficult economy there are line ups for food. Are Cubans starving? No. Despite economic hardships, Cuba continues to look after her people and—through their Henry Reeves medical brigades—those of other nations.

The CNN reporter interviews protesters, then turns his camera to another group of Cubans, standing quietly on a corner with Cuban flags raised in defence of their country. They tell a different story, putting the blame for today’s hard times squarely on Washington.

“Yo soy Fidel (I am Fidel),” one man exclaims, a phrase embraced by Cubans on Fidel’s death in 2016 to express solidarity and respect for the ideals of the Cuban Revolution by saying Fidel lives within them. Shaking his head, the reporter closes with the comment: “One man even kept insisting to me that he was Fidel. “I am Fidel” he kept saying. But (with a half-smirk) everyone knows Fidel died in 2016. This is so-and-so for CNN in Havana…”

Tone deaf?

The Cubans I am speaking to on a weekly basis—although frustrated by a long lockdown and even tighter sanctions—know very well who is responsible for their country’s economic crisis. From Washington, U.S. president Joe Biden called Cuba a “failed state”. Ironic that.

Let’s be very clear: this battle has little to do with the Cuban people and all to do with how to run the economy. In the U.S., capitalism has a stranglehold on markets and communities. Rugged individualism is preached like a religion. We see how well that is working. In Cuba, state socialism charts a different course.

Choosing a socio-economic order is a sovereign matter between a nation and her people. Not investors from abroad.

It is time, Justin Trudeau, for Canada to show support for our friend Cuba, to stand shoulder to shoulder with this tiny Caribbean nation with whom we have shared strong diplomatic ties since 1946 and provide the important economic aid they so desperately need and so deeply deserve.

Shame on us if we do not…

Cuba tops Caribbean medal tally as Olympiad winds up

Seven Caribbean nations appear on the final medal table from the Summer Olympic Games which ended here yesterday, with Cuba topping the list.

The Spanish-speaking Caribbean country won 15 medals as Caribbean nations finished with 15 gold, seven silver and nine bronze.

For the Cubans, their gold came in boxing through Andy Cruz, Julio la Cruz, Arlen Lopez and Roniel Iglesias, along with three-gold medal performance in rowing, allowing them to end in 14th place on the overall medal table.

The other Caribbean nations on the medal table were Jamaica, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Grenada. All but one of the medals won by this group of countries came in athletics.

Gold medal winners Elaine Thompson-Herah and Hansle Parchment of Jamaica, Shaunae Miller-Uibo and Steven Gardiner of the Bahamas, along with Puerto Rican Jasmin Camacho-Quinn all made history.

Thompson-Herah became the first to complete a 100-200 metres ‘double-double’ and Parchment made Jamaica the first country other than the United States to win the 110 metres hurdles in successive Olympic Games.

That feat was last accomplished by the USA in 1988, when Roger Kingdom retained the title he won in 1984.

Miller-Uibo and Gardiner gave the Bahamas the honour of being the first Caribbean country to win both 400 metres gold medals in the same Games since 1984.

Camacho-Quinn is Puerto Rico’s first Olympic champion in athletics.

Jamaica’s medal haul of four gold, one silver and four bronze earned Thompson-Herah and her compatriots fifth place on the athletics medal table, behind the United States, Italy, Kenya and Poland.

The USA won seven gold, 12 silver and seven bronze medals.

The much-maligned games, postponed from last year due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, wrapped up yesterday with the closing ceremony in the country’s capital.

With rising COVID cases, the Games proceeded behind closed doors, with athletes forced to undergo extensive testing throughout the showpiece.

“There are no words to describe what you have achieved,” said Tokyo 2020 president, Seiko Hashimoto.

“You have accepted what seemed unimaginable, understood what had to be done, and through hard work and perseverance overcome unbelievable challenges.”

The closing ceremony showcased parts of Japan culture, amidst fireworks at the Olympic stadium, as the curtain came down on the Games, with France’s capital Paris set to take the baton in 2024.

“For the first time since the pandemic began, the entire world came together,” said International Olympic Committee president, Thomas Bach.

Nobody has ever organised a postponed Games before.”

ACIS-M: A CLARION TO THE PAN-AFRICAN WORLD TO DEFEND CUBA & HUMANITY!

The American establishment should not assume that we Africans have forgotten that while it supported Apartheid South Africa, Cuba sent 55,000 combat troops over 9,000 kilometres to defend us against Apartheid.

We have not forgotten that thousands of Cuban youths lost their lives in defeating the Apartheid Armed Forces and securing freedom for Namibia, South Africa and our continent.

If the Cuban people are threatened, we Africans have the moral duty to race to their aid. Or what do we tell God on Judgement Day? That we abandoned a people who spilled their blood for us?*

COALITION OF NIGERIANS AGAINST AMERICAN BLOCKADE OF CUBA ASKS NIGERIA'S FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO VOTE AGAINST BLOCKED

The coalition of Nigerian Movements Against the US-CUBA blocked has in a letter to the NIGERIA'S federal government demanded the country voted against the blockade at the UN general assembly.

The coalition said: " This final push is necessary because the American establishment has treated with contempt, the 28 resolutions adopted by the UN General Assembly condemning the blockade".

WE ARE A COALITION OF NIGERIANS AGAINST AMERICAN BLOCKADE OF CUBA!

COPIED: The United Nations General Assembly, c/o UN Office, Abuja-Nigeria.

His Excellency Geoffrey Onyeama.

The Honourable Minister

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Tafawa Balewa building

Federal Secretariat

Central Business District

Abuja- Nigeria.

Your Excellency,

Need for Nigeria to vote for an end to the blockade of Cuba at the United Nations General Assembly

We, a coalition comprising the two labour centres in the country; the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC ) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), radical progressive groups, intellectuals in the Academic unions, Civil Society and Human Rights organisations organised as the Nigerian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, bring you greetings.

We write to express our desire and the hope of millions of the Nigerian people that our country should vote at the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 for the resolution demanding a final end to the blockade against Cuba imposed by the United States since February 7, 1962. This final push is necessary because the American establishment has treated with contempt, the 28 resolutions adopted by the UN General Assembly condemning the blockade.

Your Excellency, Nigeria as a country has consistently voted against the blockade, and at this final stage, we need to make our vote emphatic. This will be in line with the February 7, 2021 Resolution of the African Union (AU) Heads of State Summit, which in declaring “its solidarity with the People of Cuba” also expressed: “serious concern about the continuous and illegal Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.”

Needless to remind Your Excellency that Nigeria’s principled opposition against the blockade is basically in line with the very reason why the United Nations was established in 1945. Specifically, the United Nations Charter and Resolutions (Chapter 1, Article 1, part 2) states that the purpose of the UN Charter is: "To develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples, and to take other appropriate measures to strengthen universal peace."

The right of all countries to self-determination which the US is challenging by its unilateral blockade of Cuba for six decades now, is sacrosanct. It was this principle Nigeria stood for in ensuring independence for all countries particularly in the bloody liberation wars in Angola, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde, Zimbabwe, Namibia and South Africa. We need not remind ourselves of the fact that thousands of Cuban youths laid down their precious lives on the African soil fighting the forces of Apartheid and militarily defeating them to ensure the liberation of our continent.

Your Excellency, the US blockage against Cuba is tantamount to genocide as it blocks that country from free trade including freely importing and exporting goods, using credit from financial institutions or import life-saving medicines including for the Covid-19 pandemic. At the outbreak of the pandemic, the Chinese business mogul, Jack Ma sent life-saving medicines and emergency Covid-19 materials to various countries including Nigeria and Cuba. While all beneficiary countries received the aid, Cuba was denied because the American embargo forbids airlines delivering such aid to the Cubans.

In financial terms, the accumulated quantifiable cost of the blockade to Cuba over the past sixty years is $1,098,008,000,000. No country can be subjected to such haemorrhage and remain financially healthy.

Your Excellency, we urge our country not just to vote to tear down the walls of the American blockade, but also to give leadership to the African continent in delivering a strong ‘Yes’ vote against this unilateral and inhuman blockade against a sister country with ancestral roots in Africa.

As we look forward to positive results in this universal struggle for human liberation, please accept our high regards.

*🇨🇺🇨🇺🇨🇺*BE INFORMED*🇨🇺🇨🇺🇨🇺!

*Over 578 Thousand Cubans Have Been Fully Vaccinated with a COVID-19 Vaccine!

Cuba is once again in the news for its fight against the pandemic. This morning Cuban President Miguel Diaz- Canel released figures from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reporting that 578,835 Cubans, from across the country, are now fully vaccinated against Covid -19 after having received all three doses of either Abdala or Soberana 2. This comes three months after starting its immunization campaign, showing the island’s vaccination indicators are now well above the world average.

According to MINSAP, from March 8 to June 11, 1,930,901 people received at least one dose of the Soberana 02 and Abdala which means that 17.3 percent of the Cuban population has already been immunized against the deadly disease.

In that same period, the average of the world’s population vaccinated with at least one dose was 12.5 percent, according to a study by Oxford University’s World in Data. Low-income countries accounted for 0.8 percent of that figure.

The results of the immunization campaign on the island are encouraging. Health authorities assured two doses of Soberana 02 produce antibodies in 80 percent of those vaccinated. The immune response rises to 100 percent after the third dose, “Soberana Plus”.

In May, the island reached a mortality rate of 60 deaths per million inhabitants, which places it among the countries least affected by the pandemic. While the world is scrambling for the few vaccines on the market, which end up in the arms of citizens of the wealthiest countries, Cuba is moving towards full immunization of its population by 2021.

However, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel warned that there is still a long way to go and warned that in the next few days, the number of COVID-19 cases in the country could increase. While Havana has had a slight epidemiological improvement, thanks to the progress of the immunization campaign in the capital, the rest of the island could experience a jump in contagions.

“We are not doing things right. The population needs to raise the risk perception. Vaccines alone will not put an end to COVID-19 transmission, so we need to continue to strictly comply with health measures,” the president said during a government meeting attended by local authorities from each province.

The new strains of COVID-19 are generating greater transmission at a faster rate, but this is not the only cause of the increase in contagions. “Many citizens are becoming overconfident because the country is immersed in the vaccination campaign and are not complying with the curfew, social distancing, correct use of face masks, and other measures imposed by the government,” Health Minister Jose Angel Portal informed.

On Tuesday, Cuba registered 1,537 new cases, the highest number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020. “The virus is having a high contagiousness in the country,” Health Ministry epidemiological Director Francisco Duran warned.

Authorities are also alarmed by the high number of infections being reported among Cuban children and adolescents. In the last 24 hours, 263 children under the age of 20 were diagnosed with the disease, bringing to 40,000 the number of pediatric-aged patients who have been infected with COVID-19 since 2020.

The increase of children in hospital centers due to the virus prompted the Ministry of Health to include them in the clinical trial phase of Soberana 02. This Monday, 25 volunteers between 12 and 18 years old received the first dose of the Cuban vaccine developed by the Finlay Vaccine Institute (IFV).

Cuba is the only country worldwide that is giving equal priority to the elderly, people with underlying diseases, and minors. “In these months of struggle, the government has joined forces with the Cuban biotechnology industry.

No one will be left helpless, everyone matters. We are not stopping in our quest to have the entire population protected from this new threat,” Díaz-Canel clarified.

ACIS-M SUPPORTS the Declaration of denunciation of the International Relations Commission of the National Assembly of People's Power of the Republic of Cuba before a new maneuver by the European Parliament

We have learned to our disgust that a small group of MEP’s servile to Washington have placed an item on the agenda of the next plenary session of the European Parliament (8 June) regarding the “Political Situation and Human Rights in Cuba”.

They are seeking the adoption of a resolution against our country based on distortion of the reality we are living; they are determined to sever the bonds that unite us with the European Union and to block implementation of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement currently being negotiated on the basis of mutual respect and equality between our states.

Such actions come as no surprise to us; they reflect the double standards, the discriminatory approach that is their hallmark.

They feign concern for human rights in Cuba, a free, independent, sovereign, democratic nation that embraces social justice and human solidarity, whose people decide their destinies and where - based on an inviolable principle enunciated by José MartÍ and enshrined in our constitution - the first law of the Republic is the Cubans’ cult of the full dignity of Man.

It is strange that, being so exercised by the human rights situation in Cuba, they have not convened the European Parliament to consider the main violation of human rights suffered by our people, namely the genocidal blockade imposed on our country for the last 62 years and intensified to incredible levels in the midst of a pandemic and a global economic crisis; a blockade which also affects European citizens - notably their entrepreneurs.

They are also acting in total indifference to flagrant violations of such rights in America and other countries, some European, which during the last 12 months have seen a rising trend in police brutality, the application of policies that discriminate against migrants, speeches inciting hatred and promoting supremacist ideas, curtailment of freedom of the press and freedom of expression, accompanied by manifestations of racism, xenophobia and other forms of intolerance.

Be aware that those behind this maneuver do not represent the totality of the MEPs. These politicized exercises serve external interests seeking to compromise the EU’s autonomy in matters of foreign policy.

*We respectfully call on the MEPs not to acquiesce in this duplicitous stratagem, to put a stop to the maneuver. Havana, June 4, 2021, 63rd year of the Revolution, International Relations Commission. National Assembly of the People’s Power.*

The anti-COVID candidate vaccine (CIGB-66) made by the Cuban  scientists is being distributed in the country’s provinces where intervention trials began this week, according to various reports.

According to a report, Workers at Emcomed, Cuba’s state enterprise medical supplier, are responsible for distributing the Abdala candidate vaccine (CIGB-66) to several of the country’s provinces, where intervention trials began yesterday.

As reported on Twitter by the Cuban Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industry Enterprise Group (BioCubaFarma), doses of the vaccine developed by the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Center in Havana, have been delivered to pharmaceutical distributors in Sancti Spiritus, Ciego de Avila, Camagüey, Las Tunas and Holguín.

BioCubaFarma CEO, Eduardo Martínez Díaz, tweeted a message reporting that more than 29,000 doses of the Cuban candidate vaccine Abdala are in storage in Pinar del Río, ready for distribution to 26 vaccination centers there, while in Artemisa, preparations are underway to deliver needed doses to vaccination sites in neighborhood participating in the intervention.

The newspaper Victoria on the Isle of Youth, also reported the arrival of the immunogen, and according to Dr. Victor Doeste Hernandez, coordinator of the municipal commission for the intervention in which a total of 48,664 individuals will participate.

In the capital, this candidate vaccine will be administered in the municipalities of San Miguel del Padrón, La Habana del Este, Guanabacoa and Regla.

While, more than 19,000 at risk subjects, including medical and paramedical personnel and medical students who have been on the front lines battling the pandemic for more than a year, will be vaccinated in Ciego de Avila with Abdala, a process which began yesterday in that province.

In Holguin, where the intervention will include more 49,660 residents, administration of Abdala has begun among health workers.

Paraphrasing José Martí, it is clear that, in the powerful, robust arms of the homeland’s children, Abdala is being brandished like a mighty sword, because in Cuba, as we defend ourselves and advance, there is nothing more important than life.

RE- CONSTITUTION-MAKING IS DIFFERENT FROM LAW-MAKING; THE POWERS OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF NIGERIA IS LIMITED TO LAW-MAKING AND DOES NOT EXTEND TO CONSTITUTION-MAKING WHICH IS AN EXCLUSIVE PREROGATIVE OF THE PEOPLE

A Raging Confusion & Delusion By Abiodun Aremu

This Clarification is directed at those who erroneously think that the National Assembly of Nigeria is the venue for Resolving all Constitutional Grievances and who therefore point all those raising Constitutional Grievances or Dispute towards the National Assembly.

Constitution-Making is Different from Law-Making.

The Powers of the National Assembly is Limited to Law-Making and does not extend to Constitution-Making.

Constitution-Making is a much higher undertaking and is the Exclusive Prerogative of the People.

Constitution-Making Requires Constituent Powers which reside exclusively with the People as an incident of their Sovereignty.

That Constituent Power is exercised by the People through a Body Specially Elected & Mandated by the People, not the Parliament that was Elected to make Laws according to Constitution.

Even with the Constituent-Power Mandate of the People, the Draft Constitution Produced by the Specially Empaneled Body is subjected to Referendum as the Ratification so that it carries the Seal and Sanction of the People.

The National Assembly does not have Constituent Powers and the limited power of Constitution Amendments granted the Parliament by the People through the Constitution is also subjected to the Ratification of the People by way of Referendum.

The Situation of Nigeria is that We have not made any Constitution at all and so the National Assembly that clings to the Forgery of 1999 that is imputed by Decree to *”WE THE PEOPLE”* is compounding the Treason Initiated by Abdusalam Abubakar in 1999 via Decree No.24 by which he enacted the so-called “1999 Constitution”.

Those who draw power from, and swear to Defend and Uphold the Imposed, Fraudulent 1999 Constitution by which our Sovereignty is Hijacked and Confiscated by an illicit Federal Government are actually committing *TREASON* against the rest of us.

With the year 2000 Joint *SECESSION* of the 12 Contiguous States of the Far North from the Secular Union of Nigeria, the December 16, 2020 Constitutional Force Majeure Proclamation was the Activation of a Joint Machinery of the rest of Nigeria, (being the Indigenous Peoples of Nigeria in the South and Middle-Belt) to Decommission and Terminate the Operation of the Fraudulent 1999 Constitution, Dismantle the Unitary Union of Death foisted by that Constitution and Midwife the Emergence of Successor-Constitutional Protocols anchored wholly on the Self-Determination Rights of the Trapped Constituent Components of the Defunct Federation of Nigeria which collapsed since 1966.

A Raging Confusion & Delusion

*The above post is part of the raging Confusion & Delusion in the country, that are clothed in intellectual sophistry! Political power is won through struggle & a people must be a people in essence to assert legitimacy! Laws and constitution-making are mere organs of class rule (power). The central question is who controls the economy & who controls the politics? And the control of the economy & politics is never possible, without winning class power, without overthrowing the class of looters holding power! It's not a moral issue or of appeal of the individuals assuming the status of a people! Which people?*

*When in ACIS-M, we speak of the people, whether in Nigeria or the Pan-African world, we mean: “the working population [workers, farmers, professionals, traders, artisans, etc) in the formal & informal sectors who are subjected to indecent work conditions and living, we mean the millions of youth without education, jobs, and social security, we mean women, aged, physically challenged and all those who are victims of one form of exploitation and oppression and who are prepared to commit themselves to the struggle for total liberation on the core-principles of clarity-conviction-commitment-collective discipline!*

*Or as COMMANDANTE FIDEL said: when we speak of the PEOPLE we are not talking about those who live in comfort or those who profit from the looting of our society, who glorify the class of looters, who welcome and obey any repressive regime and impunity in government, and those who prostrate before the rulers of the moment because of selfish gains.*

*Or as FELA ANIKULAPO said when he sang of the PEOPLE we are not talking about those who will say “we no wan die, we no wan wound, we no wan quench, we no wan go; I get one child, Mama dey for house, Papa dey for house, I wan build house, I don build house; We no wan quench, I wan enjoy, We no wan go, So policeman go slap your face, you no go talk; Army man go whip your yansh, you go dey look like donkey! Dem leave Sorrow, Tears and Blood*

*AND as Commandante FIDEL concluded: When we speak of STRUGGLE and we mention the PEOPLE we mean the working people and the oppressed masses, those to whom everyone makes promises and who are deceived by all.* *We mean the PEOPLE, who want a better, more dignified and humane society; who are moved by profound commitment to justice, because they have suffered injustice, humiliation and mockery from every regime – military & civilian*

*We mean the PEOPLE who long for true and upright changes in all aspects of their life; PEOPLE who, to attain their FREEDOM, they believe in themselves and are ready to give even the very last breadth they have to bring about the desired humane society”*

Born February 11, 1955, Comrade Abdul Kareem Motajo was trained at the University de la Havana, Cuba and he has maintained strong ties with the country and cementing the relationship with Nigeria.

He worked as a full-time secretary of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and during the regime of former Head of State, late General Sani Abacha, he became the General Secretary of NUATE and left the post in 2015 when he retired at 60.

After his retirement, he served as a member of the Presidential Council of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU). His sole efforts led to winning almost a dozen affiliates of both the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) to WFTU.

Motajo

Comrade Motajo was also instrumental in the establishment of the Nigerian-Cuba Friendship Business and Cultural Association.

Meanwhile, tributes have continued to pour in for the deceased.

The WFTU described him as, “a soldier in the first line of the class struggles, always ready to work, with audacity into practical work, and always fought in the first line of the WFTU for the benefits of the workers and people of Nigeria from his position as acting General Secretary of NUATE.

“Through his union struggles, he always fought for the interests of his members’ union but also for the sector of air transport workers in national and regional level.”

“Comrade Motajo stand heads and shoulders above most comrades of his generation, was his readiness to organise and fight on the field. He was someone you could go into battle with, without the slightest fear that he would not hold his ground.”

In another tribute, the former President of Lufthansa German Nigeria Staff Union, Mr Rafiu Afolabi Laguda, said, “Nigeria has lost a negotiator and labour leader who believed in mutual understanding, constructive dialogue and a promoter of negotiation without bitterness.

“Comrade Motajo fought for the eradication of casualization of labour in the aviation industry. He fought for the rights of the vulnerable, upheld equity and justice, respect for law and order. He promoted industrial peace through conflict resolution.”

Similarly, the National Coordinator, Oodua Liberation Movement (OLM), described him as a quintessential fellow with unquantifiable attributes. Comrade Motajo was resourceful. He excelled in theory and practice. The most quality and asset of a cadre is to be well-grounded in theory and practice.

Equally, Ferney-Voltaire extolled the value of the late Comrade Motajo, he was described as a soldier’s soldier on the left for his boldness. This was not about his being clearly the closest socialist in the country to the Cuban people. It was his readiness to throw body, heart and soul with audacity into practical work, even when this could cost him his life.

CUBAN REVOLUTION @ 60: THE PEOPLE UNITED CAN NEVER BE DEFEATED! - ACIS-Movement

*ACIS-M SALUTES ICAP: THE HEARTBEAT OF THE CUBAN REVOLUTION @ 60!*

*We of the Amilcar Cabral Ideological School (ACIS-M) Movement salute the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) for its 60th Anniversary celebration. We acknowledge that the ICAP Anniversary comes in the wake of the 62nd Anniversary triumph of the Cuban revolution, which will be January 1st 2021*

*We specifically appreciate ICAP for the  bond of friendship the body has extended to solidarity movements across the world. In particular, we are inspired by ICAP's work in the annual MAYO International Brigade, its coordination of the Continental Meetings of Solidarity with Africa, whose 6th edition was hosted by Nigeria in September 2019 and its other invaluable works in promoting and defending the values and principles of the Cuban revolution against imperialism.*

*On a momentous occasion as this, we salute the heroic sacrifices of the Cuban Five, in which the current President of ICAP - Fernando Gonzalez was one of the unjustly imprisoned for more than 15years in the US before they were released. It was the persistent resistance from Cuba and the corresponding international campaigns championed by ICAP  that compelled US imperialism to free the FIVE!*

*As we celebrate with ICAP today., we enjoin solidarity movements across the Pan-African world to join forces with ICAP in the renewed campaigns to END the criminal US Economic Blockade against Cuba. With ICAP, the Cuban revolution will forever outlive the US imperialist aggression!*

*AND to all our comrades in ICAP who continue to work selflessly and tiredlessly, accept our warm regards and spiritual blessing from MAYIBUYE (Mother) AFRICA!*

Ever Onward to ICAP!

Ever Onward to the Cuban Revolution!
