Buhari led APC pro bandits regime secretly freed 101 Boko Haram Leaders From Kirikiri Prison Lagos

Buhari led APC pro bandits regime secretly freed 101 Boko Haram Leaders From Kirikiri Prison Lagos

Information has emerged that Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari has secretly  freed no fewer than 101 Boko Haram Leaders From Kirikiri Prison Lagos.

Accordinqg to the source, two days ago, Boko Haram released the remaining 23 passengers of Abuja-Kaduna rail and same day, Nigeria freed 101 dangerous terrorists as prisoners swap.

Under the Buhari led APC pro bandits regime, security of lives and property have been zero as the government negotiated with bandits like never in our history . The pro bandits regime killed, arrested and jailed peaceful protesters with impunity.

A Brigadier in the Nigeria Army had reportedly cried out that terrorists are winning.

He said : While congratulating the families of train victims for the safe return of their relatives, something very sad came to mind about the whole tragedy.

1- The ultimate winners are the terrorists. They achieved all their objectives without retribution.

They have all their inmates released, collected hefty amounts of money in billions of Naira and foreign currencies and went away without losing a soul. Meanwhile they inflicted damages on Nigeria. They killed passengers, destroyed a train and stopped it from operation for a very long period and instilled fear in minds of Nigerians.

2- The biggest tragedy is that all the captives were released through payment of ransoms which impoverished family economies, some might never recover. The last victims were released by military committee which means more money were paid and the military had also cornered part of the ransom money. In the whole saga there was no shooting,no arrest, not even declaring some people wanted. What kind of country do we have for God's sake? Time will tell the kind of arrangement reached for the release of the victims.

3- We just have a paper military. What is there in a military that cannot use force on terrorists. There is nothing impressive about military that abandoned its trade and go to terrorists and pay ransoms. It is really a shame on NIGERIAN government.

4- As long as people benefit from train attacks and kidnapping there will be no end to this kind of tragedy. The terrorists have made a good, safe and profitable venture and have gone to plan another attack. Security agencies that benefit from it will be too willing to be part of the next attack. The Mamus that made billions from ransom negotiation will be waiting to make ransom harvest.

A kidnapping Industry has been created by government's inability to deal ruthlessly with criminals.

Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari rode to power in 2015 on promises to tackle insecurities, corruption and rebuild the economy . The country has become a breeding space for terrorism and world capital of poverty under the anti people led APC maladministration.

Chinelo: “Are You Dead Now?” ( the wicked, insensitive & meanness of the Muhammadu Buhari regime)

Chinelo: “Are You Dead Now?” ( the wicked, insensitive & meanness of the Muhammadu Buhari regime)

One of the most despicable things that happened during the bombing and raiding of Kaduna bound train last week was the response to a medical doctor in distress, Dr. Chinelo Megafum, after she was shot on the train. She sent out a tweet stating that she’s been shot on the train and asked for prayers, but a group of mean spirited members of the infamous Buhari Media Centre "BMC" trolled her consistently until she fell silent. One of them named “Abolore” @ysone2 on  Twitter asked, “Are You Dead Now?” The answer is Yes, Doctor Chinelo died in agony while Abolore and other trolls mocked her and went to sleep afterwards. Several of those on the train including a two labour leaders of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC Secretary General  Comrade (Barr.) Musa-Lawal Ozigi as well as Chairman of the Kwara State branch Comrade Akin Akinsola were also killed in the attack and several other persons were kidnapped and are still  in captivity.

These Twitter trolls are a reflection of the wicked, insensitive & meanness of the Muhammadu Buhari regime, since coming on board as Nigeria’s President in 2015 the Buhari regime and its officials have been asking Nigerians after shooting, stabbing and impoverishing Nigerians the same question, over and over again,  “Are You Dead Now?”

When the regime massacred Shiites in Zaria, it turned around and asked Shiites, “Are You Dead Now?”. When they turned they guns, blazing, on IPOB members in Nigeria''s South East, they asked them “Are You Dead Now?”

When the Buhari regime killed peaceful “EndSARS" protesters at Lekki Toll Gate, the regime and its progenitord of hate turned around and mocked the dead and wounded, “Are You Dead Now?”  they asked, the regime went further and asked, "if you are dead, show is your dead bodies."

When they visited the home of Sunday IGBOHO, the renowned Yoruyba agitator in the dead of the night, ransacked his compound and killed innocent civilians, they turned around and asked, “Are You Dead Now?”

They’ve treat Nigerians with the same disdain by inflicting hunger, starvation, abandoning them to their faith during the COVID-19 pandemic, they've mismanaged the economy, killed the national currency-Naira, ensured that they are no longer generating electricity, made fuel scarce deliberately in order to force Nigerians to pay through their noses, they brought massive unemployment, doctors and nurses have fled in droves and the regime is still asking you, the people of Nigeria “Are you Dead Now’?

#ENDSARS MEMORIAL: Global terrorism carried out against innocent young Nigerian citizens by Buhari led regime

Throughout #Endsars protests in October 2020, the Muhammadu Buhari regime mobilised well-armed thugs to attack unarmed #EndSARS protesters here in Abuja, they were ferried around in Government registered vehicles, some of them mobilised through Jabi Park, they injured and even killed two peaceful protesters.

In Lagos Gov. Sanwoolu gave out official air conditioned state owned commercial BRT buses to thugs to attack #EndSARS peaceful protesters camped at the Lagos State House of Assembly, when they didn’t succeed they mobilised the HQ Nigerian Army to shoot and murder innocent #endsarsprotesters at #Lekkitollgate, that global terrorism carried out against innocent young Nigerian citizens by Muhammadu Buhari, Jide Sanwoolu and then Chief of Army Staff Yusuf Tukur Buratai led to the untimely but brutal deaths of many.

Now the same government is claiming they are worried about “hoodlums hijacking” the #endsarsmemorial. Muhammadu Buhari, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and DSS men accompanying hoodlums are the real HOODLUMS! #RevolutionNow #BuhariMustGo

Buhari’s 75,000 Vs Sowore’s 100,000 - Femi Adeyeye

Buhari’s 75,000 Vs Sowore’s 100,000 - Femi Adeyeye

It was as if Sowore announced that aliens were about to take over the Nigerian space, when he rolled out some of the welfare plans of the AAC party, which includes working out a scheme that will pay each Nigerian University student a Cost of Living/Study Allowance of 100,000 Naira per Semester.

The shock that greeted the promise during that period did not come from any debate by his opponents or their allies, because they never argued it. The people who argued most are the so-called intellectuals; Economists on Facebook and Policy Analysts on Twitter.

“Where will the money come from?”, “Is it sustainable?” “Will they now receive more than the minimum wage?” “What is the value of the intercept?” “Will it hit the gradient of Humanity Vs Belliconomics curve?” (I made this up 😀) But there was nothing we didn’t hear and there was no question we didn’t answer at that time. Omoyele Sowore remains one of the most engaged Politicians of this era. Today, the Buhari regime promised 75,000 for University Education students and 50,000 for College of Education students.

I would admit anyway that the debate then was somehow healthy. However, I want to tell you that if a government that reeks of corruption, ineptitude and grand mismanagement could still mutter such promise; “audio” or not, it goes to show that they understand that it is very possible to implement.

In many of our schools, Education students are the most populous, so if nobody is questioning the feasibility of paying the 75k, it means we would be adding just little to pay everyone 100k.

We explained then that by massive industrialization of the economy, serious production- rather than this guess-work kind of economy that we run, blocking of loopholes, conduits of corruption and cesspools, we would pay 100,000 Naira minimum wage, which was just an addition of some billions to the wage bill as at 2018. Interestingly, we were told paying people a living wage would cause inflation.

Today, there is serious double-digit inflation without paying our 100,000 wage. Many states are not even paying the approved  30,000 Naira. Buhari has blamed the “middlemen” again.

Nigerians. You are the ones I’m talking to now.

It’s understandable that you find it hard to believe there is a way out of this misery. As against what you have held as popular opinion, I want to tell you that you deserve good life and it is very possible to lead one, here on earth. Not in heaven.

Make suffer tire una na.

HUBRIS: Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari's Independence Speech - Femi Ogunsanwo

"No government since 1999 has done what we have done in six years to put Nigeria back on track”- President Muhammadu Buhari
************************************************

#BuhariMustGo protesters
in Abuja

This is pure and unadulterated hubris on steroids overdose. Whoever wrote that press release for nationwide broadcast on Nigeria 61st Independence Anniversary Celebrations do not like PMB at all except they are stating the obvious negativities

Baba Buhari, let me give you this unsolicited advice which you are free to ignore but by the grace of Almighty Allah, it will suffice in the future. Your position as President is transient and that power you wield now is transitory.

Be rest assured, you will be abandoned and ignored by all the hangers on milling round you now on 29th May 2023, the flight that will take you back to Daura will have only you and some members of your family on board

Do not be surprised at all that you might not even be allowed to use the Presidential Jet that day, you might even be barred from using the Presidential Lounge at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja. So prepare your mind because thats how fickle minded human beings can be (Yorubas call them "awon arire baniję, agbon isalę")

Dolts who wrote the press release are bloody sycophants and I can assure you will be the first few people to turn against you out of power, so do not feed on their silly sycophancy hailing your government as the best since 1999, Nigeria of 2021 under you as President is the worst since independence 61 years ago. Do not be misled by ne'er do well

Cast your mind back to 29th May 2015 when you assumed leadership of this great nation, can you swear that this was how you met the country then? Please read your Holy Quran and let it be your guide always. Ma Salam

READ THE FULL HUBRIS:

INDEPENDENCE DAY ADDRESS BY HIS EXCELLENCY, MUHAMMADU BUHARI, PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA ON THE OCCASION OF NIGERIA’S SIXTY FIRST INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY, FRIDAY 1ST OCTOBER, 2021.

Citizens of Nigeria.

It is with full gratitude to God that today, we celebrate Nigeria’s sixty first Independence Anniversary.

2. For 1st of October 1960 to happen, all hands were on deck. East, West, North all came together to celebrate freedom. Today should not only serve as a reminder of the day the British handed over the reins of power to Nigerians, but also unified Nigerians from all ethnic groups, religions and regions.

3. Today, despite the challenges we face, most Nigerians still maintain the spirit of 1st October. That positive outlook and determination to make Nigeria a peaceful and prosperous nation. It is due to this collective attitude that Nigeria doggedly continues to remain a united and indivisible nation.

4. Fellow Nigerians, the past eighteen months have been some of the most difficult periods in the history of Nigeria. Since the civil war, I doubt whether we have seen a period of more heightened challenges than what we have witnessed in this period.

5. Our original priorities for 2020 were to continue stabilising our economy following the deep recession while restoring peace in areas confronted with security challenges. But the COVID-19 pandemic and its devastating impact on all nations meant we needed to shift gears and re-strategise.

6. Nigerians came together as one to fight against COVID-19. It is this attitude and by the special grace of God, we continue to survive the pandemic as a nation and indeed, provide leadership and example at regional and international levels.

7. The doomsday scenario predicted for our country never came. Even as the Delta variant continues to spread, we have built the capacity we need to respond now and into the future.

8. I will therefore appeal to Nigerians not to take COVID lightly, adhere to public health and social measures, put your mask on and get vaccinated. We can control this pandemic, but it requires effort on everybody’s part. The investments we made in response to COVID-19 will also serve our country to tackle any future disease outbreaks or pandemics.

9. Despite the global inequity in access to vaccines, the Government of Nigeria has continued to explore all available options to ensure Nigerians have free access to safe and effective vaccines.

10. Some five million vaccine doses have been administered to Nigerians through efforts led by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency and we will continue to explore options for purchase or acquisition of vaccines such as through COVAX and the African Vaccine Acquisition Trust.

11. I will take this opportunity to remind the global community that the current state of access to COVID-19 vaccines is unacceptable. We cannot afford a situation where a handful of countries keep the global vaccine supply to themselves at the expense of other nations.

12. We must act now to accelerate equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. This is the message I conveyed to the international community in New York last week.

13. As we push to source vaccines for our immediate needs, we shall invest more to support our pharmaceutical and research agencies to come up with ideas for locally developed vaccines. Should another pandemic arise in the future, Our question is simple; will Nigeria be ready?

14. Accordingly, I have directed the Ministries of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Health, Education and Science and Technology to work with Nigerian and International pharmaceutical companies and research organisations to enhance Nigeria’s domestic pharmaceutical capacity.

15. Already, the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority is raising a $200 million fund for this initiative that will complement the Central Bank of Nigeria’s ongoing N85 billion Healthcare Sector Research and Development Intervention Scheme to support local researchers in the development of vaccines and drugs to combat communicable and non-communicable diseases, including COVID-19.

Fellow Nigerians, this is just the beginning.

16. Similarly, on our approach to food security, I am proud to announce Nigeria has commenced its journey to pharmaceutical independence.

17. This journey, which will take years to achieve but will ultimately result in Nigerian based companies developing the Active Pharmaceutical substances and competence needed for us to make our own drugs and vaccines.

Fellow Nigerians,

18. As our economy continues to open after the COVID-19 related lockdowns, we have also seen the resurgence of insecurity in certain parts of the country.

19. In the last four months, the gallant men and women of the Military and Security Agencies have made tremendous progress in addressing these new security challenges. We are taking the fight to our enemies from all angles and we are winning.

20. Earlier this year, I launched the Integrated National Security and Waterways Protection Infrastructure, the Deep Blue Project, which is designed to secure Nigerian waters up to the Gulf of Guinea. I am happy to inform Nigerians that we have taken delivery of key assets for this project and very soon, its impact will be felt.

21. In the North East region alone, over eight thousand Boko Haram terrorists have surrendered.

22. To support our surge approach to fighting banditry, the Nigerian Armed Forces have recruited over 17,000 personnel across all ranks. Furthermore, I have also approved for the Nigerian Police Force to recruit 10,000 police officers annually over the next six years.

23. I am also pleased to note that most of the Air Force platforms we acquired over the past three years have started to arrive in Nigeria. These will positively impact our security operations in all parts of the country.

24. In line with section 14(2)(b) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the security and welfare of Nigerians continue to be the prime focus on which programmes and projects of our government revolves.

25. Therefore, as a Government, we are ready to arrest and prosecute all persons inciting violence through words or action. Our resolve for a peaceful, united and one Nigeria remains resolute and unwavering.

26. That said, our hope is not to fight for peace. We can always settle our grievances peacefully without spilling any blood.

27. I will therefore take this opportunity, on this special day that symbolises the unity and oneness of our great nation, to ask all Nigerians to embrace peace and dialogue, whatever your grievances.

28. The seeds of violence are planted in people’s heads through words. Reckless utterances of a few have led to losses of many innocent lives and destruction of properties.

29. Such unfiltered and unsubstantiated lies and hate speeches by a few evil persons must be stopped. Our media houses and commentators must move away from just reporting irresponsible remarks to investigating the truth behind all statements and presenting the facts to readers.

30. We must all come out and speak against the lies being peddled. At this point, I would want to sincerely appreciate the large number of our Traditional, Religious and Community leaders as well as other well-meaning Nigerians who, in their various fora are openly spreading the message of peaceful co-existence and conflict settlement through dialogue in their respective communities.

31. Nigeria is for all of us. Its unity is not negotiable. And its ultimate success can only be achieved if we all come together with a common goal of having peace and prosperity for our nation.

32. We shall continue to work on dialogue based solutions to address legitimate grievances. But we remain ready to take decisive actions against secessionist agitators and their sponsors who threaten our national security.

33. The recent arrests of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Adeyemo, and the ongoing investigations being conducted have revealed certain high-profile financiers behind these individuals. We are vigorously pursuing these financiers including one identified as a serving member of the national assembly.

Fellow Nigerians,

34. This is a clear example of how people abandon their national leadership positions for their selfish gains. Instead of preaching unity, they are funding and misleading our youth to conduct criminal acts that sometimes lead to unfortunate and unnecessary loss of lives and property.

35. As the so-called leaders run abroad to hide, our innocent youths are misled and left in the streets to fight for their senseless and destructive causes.

36. Government will continue, with greater level of peoples’ participation and in collaboration with our international partners, to improve the security architecture, reduce enabling environment for criminality to thrive and eliminate opportunities for terrorism financing.

37. Fellow Nigerians, our unrelenting effort at resolving an almost two-decade stalling on the management of our Petroleum resources and ensuring equitable consideration to our host communities has resulted in the enactment of the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021.

38. This Act not only overhauls the Institutional, regulatory and fiscal framework of the Petroleum Industry but also reduces the previous opacity associated with this sector.

39. This is the first step to the reforms as the process is a continuous one. Already, to further improve the governance framework, I have sought for an amendment of sections 11(2)(b) and 34(2)(b). We will also continue to review and amend as appropriate.

40. At this juncture, it is very appropriate that I salute the leadership and members of the Ninth Assembly for their patriotism, dedication to duty, candour and most importantly the dispatch with which they have enacted legacy legislations for this nation. I do not take such level of cooperation for granted and hope it continues for the overall efficiency of the Federal machinery.

41. Nigeria’s Roadmap on Local Refining is on track with the Commissioning of a Modular refinery in Imo State.

42. A second is scheduled for commissioning by the end of this year in Edo State and the third one in Bayelsa State by 2022.

43. In addition to the modular projects, we also have the two mega refinery projects coming up in Lagos and Akwa Ibom States.

44. As these refineries are commissioned, more employment opportunities are created and there would be increased petroleum products available for local consumption which will significantly reduce our reliance on importation.

45. In further demonstrating our plan to reduce our dependence on oil and tapping from our enormous gas resources, this administration remains committed to the “Decade of Gas” Initiative, which is aimed at bringing to focus the utilization of our huge gas resources.

46. Already, we are supporting and promoting various gas-based projects including NLNG Train 7 and the mega urea and ammonia projects in the South-South region.

47. As we continue to optimise and enhance our oil and gas sector, I am also proud and delighted to state that our economic diversification strategy remains on course with the persistent increase in Non-Oil Sector contribution to GDP.

48. We recovered from economic recession in quarter four of 2020 with a GDP growth rate of 0.11%, and grew by 0.51% and 5.01% in real terms in the first and second quarters of 2021.

49. The Agricultural sector remains key to our economic diversification efforts as the sector has been a consistent driver of the non-oil sector contributing 22.35% and 23.78% to the overall GDP in the first and second quarter of 2021.

50. We have seen significant private sector investments in almost all areas of the agricultural value chain. And these have continued even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

51. Unfortunately, as our food production capacity has increased, food prices have been going up due to artificial shortages created by middlemen who have been buying and hoarding these essential commodities for profiteering.

52. To address this, I am hereby directing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to rehabilitate the National Food Reserve Agency and also work with security agencies, the Nigerian Commodity Exchange, and the National Assembly to find a lasting solution to these disruptive and unpatriotic hoarding activities.

53. To further enhance food production, we have completed several new dams and are in the process of rehabilitating several River Basin Development Authorities to enhance ground water supply for rainfed agriculture as well as surface water for irrigation agriculture.

54. The water projects we completed between 2015 to 2020 have improved Nigerian’s access to potable water to 71% between 2015 and 2020. This means 12.5 million additional Nigerians now have direct access to potable water.

Fellow Nigerians,

55. This Government remains concerned by the significant transportation infrastructure deficit we have. Addressing the challenges our commuters and lorry drivers face on the motorways is still a high priority to us.

56. To complement our budgetary allocations, the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund and the Road Infrastructure Development and Refurbishment Investment Tax Credit Scheme, we recently established a N15trillion Infrastructural Corporation of Nigeria Limited (INFRACO), which is expected to begin operation by the fourth quarter of this year.

57. INFRACO will also focus on leveraging resources on a public-private sector basis for infrastructural development in Nigeria.

58. We hope through these innovative programs, the additional cost burden on individuals and businesses because of inefficient logistics operations will be reduced and ultimately, eliminated.

59. We currently have over 13,000 kilometres of roads and bridges under construction all over the country of which a fair percentage have been completed.

60. As we fix our roads, we also continue to extend and upgrade Nigeria’s railway network with the notable opening of the Warri- Itakpe standard gauge rail line.

61. To increase capacity, we have introduced more locomotives, coaches and wagons including the establishment of a Wagon Assembly in Kajola, Ogun State.

62. The sea ports however still remain problematic. The effect of our various interventions to reduce the gridlocks and inefficiencies have been slower than expected.

63. However, the implementation of the Electronic Call-Up System as well as the conversion of the Lillypond Container Terminal to a Vehicle Transit Area will further enhance the ease of cargo evacuation.

64. Our prioritisation of developing Nigeria’s Digital Economy has positively impacted the contribution of the ICT sector to our GDP.

65. We hope our present efforts to ensure all Nigerians use a National Identification Number as well as our planned roll-out of the fifth generation (5G) network technology will ensure we stay in line with the global innovation curve as a Nation.

66. As we embrace the digital economy in Nigeria, we are fully aware of the prospects and the perils. Our policies have been developed to enable Nigerians to take advantage of the prospects and avoid the perils of digital technologies.

67. Social media is a very useful platform that has enabled millions of Nigerians to connect with loved ones, promote their businesses, socialise, and access news and other information.

68. However, recent events have shown that the platform is not just an innocuous platform for information dissemination.

69. Rather some users have misused the platform to organise, coordinate, and execute criminal activities, propagate fake news, and promote ethnic and religious sentiments.

70. To address these negative trends, the Federal Government of Nigeria suspended the operations of Twitter in Nigeria on June 5, 2021 to allow the Government put measures in place to address these challenges.

71. Following the suspension of Twitter operations, Twitter Inc. reached out to the Federal Government of Nigeria to resolve the impasse. Subsequently, I constituted a Presidential Committee to engage Twitter to explore the possibility of resolving the issue.

72. The Committee, along with its Technical Team, has engaged with Twitter and have addressed a number of key issues. These are:

a. National Security and Cohesion;

b. Registration, Physical presence and Representation;

c. Fair Taxation;

d. Dispute Resolution; and

e. Local Content.

73. Following the extensive engagements, the issues are being addressed and I have directed that the suspension be lifted but only if the conditions are met to allow our citizens continue the use of the platform for business and positive engagements.

74. As a country, we are committed to ensuring that digital companies use their platform to enhance the lives of our citizens, respect Nigeria's sovereignty, cultural values and promote online safety.

75. Nigeria's progressive diplomacy continues to manifest through growing numbers of highly placed Nigerians in positions of regional and global influences. Very recently, Nigeria won election for the position of Commissioner for the expanded Political, Peace and Security Affairs of the African Union.

76. Our persistent calls for a reorganized and reformed ECOWAS, to make the organization citizens-sensitive, paid off with the acceptance by the Authority of Heads of State and Governments of ECOWAS to commence the agreed reforms in the organization ahead of the next elections of the organization’s principal officers in December this year.

77. At the African Development Bank, World Trade Organization and indeed, the United Nations, footprints of Nigeria's Diplomacy are clearly evident.

78. We remain confident that our goal of lifting 100million Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years is achievable.

79. Considering the positive impact of our Social Investment Programs, I recently approved an increase in the number of N-Power program beneficiaries from 500,000 to 1,000,000.

80. Out of this, 510,000 have started the programme while the competitive selection process for onboarding the outstanding 490,000 beneficiaries is in progress.

81. The National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme is currently being implemented in 35 States of the Federation and the FCT. Over 103,000 women have been engaged and empowered as cooks under the programme, while about 10 million pupils are being fed across public primary schools in the country.

82. To grant increased access to credit to the most poor and vulnerable, I have directed an increase in the disbursement of Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme loans to an additional one million beneficiaries laying more emphasis on the smallholding farmers through the farmers Moni program.

Fellow Nigerians,

83. For far too long we have neglected the centrality of the civil service as the engine of governance and this has manifested in ineffective service delivery.

84. There is widespread discontent and disillusion about the efficiency and probity of our civil service.

85. It is for this reason that we are refocusing the Nigerian Civil Service to provide World class service to run our country.

86. The youths of this great country remain propellants for our today and provide guarantees that we would have a secure tomorrow.

87. It is for this reason that I remain focused on expanding opportunities for their participation in politics and governance.

88. Recent appointments of young people into positions of authority and their track record so far, gives me confidence that we need to bring more of them into governance and this I promise to do.

89. More specifically, to encourage Girl-Child Education, female scholarship schemes, life skills and digital literacy skills to boost girl’s enrolment, retention and completion of schooling, are all initiatives put in place to ensure gender balance in appropriately positioning our youths for positions of leadership.

90. The commitment of this Administration to the well-being of people living with disabilities remains unwavering.

91. Government recognises their contributions to development and I have, in this regard, directed that all relevant Government Agencies pay special attention to the peculiarities of different abilities in the implementation of policies and programmes.

92. Rape and Gender Based Violence remains a sore point in our Nation as in many countries worldwide and this was worsened during and after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

93. We are currently engaging Heads of Courts to establish Specialised Courts for the speedy and seamless trial of Rape/Gender-Based offences especially to ensure that justice is done for child victims of sexual violence.

94. On the other hand, work has advanced in the reformation, reintegration and reunification of Minors involved in one crime or the other.

95. The reformation in our Correctional Services has manifested in an increase in modernised custodial centres and a transformation from strictly punitive to attitudinal changes so that criminals do not relapse into their previous lifestyle.

96. As we begin to celebrate our sixty one years as a Nation, we need to be conscious that Nigeria does not start and end with the Federal Government. This country is a great collective where Government at all arms and levels as well as the private sector, and more importantly individuals, have a role to play.

97. In particular, security is a bottom to top undertaking. Joining hands and hearts together would enable us to secure ourselves and our country.

98. I fully understand the anxiety of many Nigerians on the inability of this country to go beyond a never-ending potential for becoming a great nation to an actually great one.

99. A lot has been achieved in the last six years on many fronts: in infrastructure, social care, governance, Nigeria’s image and influence in Africa and the international community.

100. But critics misdiagnose incremental progress as stagnation. Since coming to power, this Administration has tackled our problems head-on in spite of the meagre resources. No government since 1999 has done what we have done in six years to put Nigeria back on track.

101. We shall continue to serve the country: listen to all and protect our democracy and country.

Thank you all and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

*IT IS TIME TO UNIFY NIGERIA UNDER THE BANNER OF TRUE FEDERALISM AND RESTRUCTURING

OCTOBER 1ST 2021

By: Abiola Adam LATEEF (Harwolowo)

Nigeria became an independent Nation in October 1st 1960 and later became a Republican Nation in 1963. Nigeria independence came on a platter of gold, it was not an independence that came as a result of revolution compared to Eritrea, Finland, Hungary, South Africa Independence etc.

Nigeria become an independent Nation without agreement or terms and conditions from the white. They gave us independence and yet they control our economy through foreign institutions like world Bank, IMF and other imposed non-governmental institutions meant for such purpose.

A country is termed to be prosperous when the people of the country are Rich, Blessed and secured. Nigerians in Nigeria are not treated right, their right is been trampled upon and deprived of, freedom of expression and press infringed by the ruling class. Retrenchment of millions of workers in the last five years. A statistic report of Nigerian unemployed become second highest on global list. Empowerment program introduced by present Nigeria Government and past government is nothing but a cosmetic project that doesn't reflect in unemployment statistic. Workers take home allowance couldn't and cannot take them home. What is the value of a naira to a dollar in 1963 and today? What does market commodities look like? Independence under Nigeria government is indeed slavery, 65% of Nigerians couldn't afford 2square meal per pay. Which serious government will allow her resident doctors to embark on industrial actions and keep silent like everything is fine? How does our health institutions look like?

Nigeria government is a signatory to UNESCO recommendation of 26% annual budget on education but today reverse is the case, what is the state of Nigeria Education pre independent and post independent, how does our education institutions looks like in terms of infrastructure and learning conditions, how does our primary and secondary school looks like? where is the development? Where is the independence?

Nigeria Democracy has stylishly turned into military rule, a situation where men in khaki are used to intimidate and oppress Nigerians for no legal reason. Nigeria's democratic governance is another continuation of the crimes of military rule and dictatorship in in the country, though it will not delay the triumph of the will and power of the people. Rather, it will hasten it.

Government instruments of terrorism and other criminal act is part of slavery under Nigeria independent government where thousands of Nigerians lost their lives/properties to Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen and banditry and yet they claimed we are independent Nation and yet Nigerians are been killed like animals. Nigeria government failed to genuinely fight insecurity and attach lots of importance to rehabilitation of criminals into our society. A criminal has to be treated like one if truly we want to fight insecurities.

The implications of present Nigerian independent is complete slavery, Nigerians must unite and demand a genuine independent from the present political and economic order of personal interest.

Effort and energies need to be devoted to generating an elite, if not a national, consensus on the necessity of restructuring, defined the redistribution of power and resources from the federal to the state governments, to be embarked upon.

The embedded imbalance, inequities and perceived injustices in the current federal system in Nigeria have to be addressed as soon as possible to enable Nigeria and Nigerians to acquire the requisite stability and peaceful coexistence amenable to accelerated, sustainable socioeconomic development.

The best strategy for success is the pursuit of a systematic, incremental positive changes through constitutional amendments, in phases, commencing with a review and sanitizing of the Federal and Concurrent Legislative lists, giving more powers and resources to the states, complemented by other reform measures to nurture and entrench good, democratic governance at all levels, from the federal to states and local governments. The necessity of redressing the imbalance and inequities embedded in the current federal system in Nigeria has been ignored for too long, and any further neglect may irreparably imperil the efficacy and viability of the Nigerian federation.

Every October 1st is a day to protest and organize ourselves to demand True federalism and immediate restructuring.

Aluta Continua

Victoria ascerta

Viva struggling people of Afrika!!!

I recall, 29th May 2015 when this administration took over, USD exchanged for N199, today dollar is exchanging for N550 and Pounds Sterling hovering around N770, (just received this rate now from my money transfer company), unprecedented I must say in our chequered history

The whole deceit and duplicity of 2015 campaign is too costly and expensive, all to the detriment of beleaguered Nigerians who trooped out in their millions to usher in this administration with pomp and pageantry

Anyway Buharists jumping about like headless chickens, who believe criticisms of this administration by some of us is all because of non reward. Hope you lot are enjoying the "paradise" under the "Messiah" now, by the way can you get same value for your N500 today just like in May 2015?

President Muhammadu Buhari has written again to the National Assembly, seeking approval to borrow the sum of $4.054 billion and €710 million which will pile up our external debts further. "Buhari omo Musa, you are doing well ojare, Ooin".

NIGERIA'S PRESIDENT, MAJOR GEN. MUHAMMADU BUHARI APPROVES CABINET RESHUFFLE

NIGERIA'S PRESIDENT, MAJOR GEN. MUHAMMADU BUHARI APPROVES CABINET RESHUFFLE

Major Gen Buhari

The Nigerian President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari has approved a reshuffle in the cabinet formed on August 21, 2019.

According to a statement made available by a senior special adviser to Major General Buhari on (Media & Publicity Femi Adesina, the Nigeria president had in a statement to cabinet members during the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday 1st September,  announced that Mohammed Sabo Nanono, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Engr. Sale Mamman, Minister of Power were leaving the cabinet.

"In the same vein, Dr. Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar, Minister of Environment, was redeployed to assume office as the Minister of Agriculture & Rural Development, while Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu, Minister of State, Works & Housing will now be the Minister of Power."

Major Gen Buhari said the changes were sequel to the “tradition of subjecting our projects and programs implementation to independent and critical self-review” through sector reporting during Cabinet meetings and at retreats.

He added that “these significant review steps have helped to identify and strengthen weak areas, close gaps, build cohesion and synergy in governance, manage the economy and improve the delivery of public good to Nigerians.”

The full text of the statement is reproduced below:

On Wednesday 21st August, 2019 the current Federal Executive Council was sworn-in after a rigorous retreat to bring returning and new members up to speed on the accomplishments, challenges and lessons drawn from my first term in Office and to emphasise the 9 priority areas of government for the second term.

2. Two years and some months into the second term, the tradition of subjecting our projects and programs implementation to independent and critical self-review has taken firm roots through sector Reporting during Cabinet meetings and at Retreats.

3. These significant review steps have helped to identify and strengthen weak areas, close gaps, build cohesion and synergy in governance, manage the economy and improve the delivery of public good to Nigerians.

4. I must commend this cabinet for demonstrating unparalleled resilience that helped the government to navigate the disruption to global systems and governance occasioned by the emergence of COVID-19 shortly after inauguration. The weekly Federal Executive Council meetings was not spared because the traditional mode was altered.

5. As we are all aware, change is the only factor that is constant in every human endeavour and as this administration approaches its critical phase in the second term, I have found it essential to reinvigorate this cabinet in a manner that will deepen its capacity to consolidate legacy achievements.

6. Accordingly, a few cabinet changes, marking the beginning of a continuous process, have been approved. They are as follows:

Ministers Leaving the Cabinet:

I. Mohammed Sabo Nanono, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and

II. Engr. Sale Mamman, Minister of Power.

Redeployment:

I. Dr. Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar, Minister of Environment, to assume office as the Minister of Agriculture & Rural Development;

II. Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu, Minister of State, Works & Housing assume office as the Minister of Power.

7. In due course, substantive nominations will be made to fill the consequential vacancies in accordance with the requirements of the constitution.

8. I have personally met with the departing members to thank them for their contributions to discussions in cabinet and the invaluable services rendered to the nation. Today, effectively marks their last participation in the Federal Executive Council deliberations and I wish them the best in all future endeavours.

9. Finally, I wish to reiterate once more, that this process shall be continuous.

10. I thank you all and May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Buhari / APC 6 horrible years of blind leadership, a disgrace of a continent

Buhari / APC 6 horrible years of blind leadership, a disgrace of a continent

Nigerians must unite against their common enemies

The Nigeria's President Major Gen Muhammadu BUHARI sent his former Police IG Ibrahim Idris, to relocate to Benue state in order to end the multiple killings there.

From the day this Buhari publicly opened his mouth and said that he was not aware that the IG did not relocate, it fully dawned on me that our country was being led by a nitwit and a brainless bigot, with an evil mission to kill, to steal and to destroy.

In this age of technology, a President that is bent on tracing non existent grazing routes to please the private businesses of his ethnic group, above the needs of the country, is nothing but evil personified; on a clear mission to self destruction.

Six horrible years of blind leadership, politicized religion, weaponized poverty, ethnic bigotry, abuse of human rights, shameful nepotism, disobedience to court orders, borrowing to loot, institutionalized terrorism, uncommon poverty and vexatious kindergarten governance.
A government of a semi-literate and a boot-licking Professor of law! The disgrace of a continent!

His office, let another take. #APCisAterroristOrganization. As far as Buhari is concerned, Boko Haram, ISWAP , Bandits and other terrorist are just doing the jihadist work. it is meant to happen as core of what they actually believe, even if they take over the entire country, they would still give power to him and his Fulani cabals in their terrorist Emirates.

But for protesters, Secessionists and any reasonable opposing voices, they are the problems. The society they would create, he would not be involved.

To every demand of NIGERIANS from Revolution now to Endsars to Yoruba Nation to Biafra and others, the reaction of the government has been violence.

But to every violence by Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen, bandits, ISWAP and others, the reaction of the regime has been peace, dialogue, ransom, education and more.

Here lies in war, what we call common enemy. The Fulani cabals, led by Buhari, Osinbajo, Tinubu, Amaechi, Lia, Fashola, Aregbesola and cos is our common enemy.

We can now all agree, Buhari would have ended Boko Haram and other Terrorist group, if he wanted to. He just don't see them as Terrorist.

They are jihadist and so is he.

With impunity, they Restricted Sowore to Abuja, Kidnapped #NnamdiKanu , attacked #SundayIgboho and his family.  They are killing and sending peaceful protesters to Jail ... While the real TERRORISTS ARE WALKING FREE.
THIS IS TYRANNY!

It's time for Nigerians to unite against their common enemies because we can't continue to hide .

#Buhari and his gang of Tyrants are still fighting the Civil war in their head. WAKE UP AND ARISE NIGERIANS!

If Major General Muhammadu Buhari led regime sponsored genocide in Southern Kaduna and middle belts, killed Shittes and you kept quiet, killed IPOB, you kept quiet, killed Journalist you kept quiet. Killed Endsars and you kept quiet. Still killing IPOB as we speak and you are still silent, then killed Igboho's people, you are still silent. Then there is nothing to worry about because when Buhari kills you or your people, he would finally silence you.

HOW LAI MOHAMMED, NBC HEAD FOR SHOWDOWN OVER N10 BILLION FRAUD, MINISTER IN HOT DEAL WITH INTERPOL MOST WANTED SUSPECT

HOW LAI MOHAMMED, NBC HEAD FOR SHOWDOWN OVER N10 BILLION FRAUD, MINISTER IN HOT DEAL WITH INTERPOL MOST WANTED SUSPECT

The levels and extents of monumental damages, economy sabotage and corrupt practices of the the Buhari led regime in Nigeria cannot be assertained while they are still holding the sway and presiding over the affairs of the country.

The APC regime since 2015 and till date has corruptly milked this country to the marrows than all the government's since Independent put together but only the demised of this current Regime will exposed it like that of the late Gen. Sani Abacha. Even then only Abacha loots we reconned with, not other generals and administrators who individually and blindly looted our common wealth.

Major General Muhammadu Buhari and his family are not saints in the affairs of this country. Buhari and his ministers are the worst thing that has ever happened to Nigeria in all fronts and sectors in the past 60 years.

The desperate attempts by Nigeria’s Information Minister, Mr Lai Mohammed to use the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to circumvent ongoing corruption investigations mounted against his person by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Offences Commission (ICPC) may have ignited a simmering animosity between him and the leadership of the parastatal.

This is even as the Information Minister’s business relationship with Toyin Subairu has raised serious concerns amongst the leadership of the NBC. Subairu who was on the Interpol wanted list for fraud, allegedly launders funds for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, using his now moribund HiTV.

Last week (Thursday) the minister verbally directed the Director-General of the NBC Mr Balarebe Ilela to write to him demanding for the release of N10 billion illegally being kept by his Ministry since January but was coldly ignored by the DG. The money was a loan provided to the Commission by the Federal Government to enable it successfully prosecute the Digital Switch Over (DSO) which is an internationally mandatory protocol to digitize television broadcast in every nation of the world.

According to Pointblanknews.com, last week reported exclusively that rather than the money released directly to the NBC, Mr Mohammed used his influence with the Federal Ministry of Finance to divert the money to a private account where it is estimated to have generated interest already amounting to over One Billion Naira. Complaints from service providers to the project and a petition to the ICPC culminated in the anti-graft agency raiding the NBC and seizing files, software and computers.

Mr Mohammed is also accused of deliberately duplicating payment to one of the companies, Inview Nigeria Limited owned by his business partner Mr Toyin Subairu among several other dubious actions taken allegedly aimed at skimming the N10 Billion.

Besides,  all through last week the commission rigorously interrogated two main accounting officers of the ministry, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Ngozi Ayanwuotaku and the Ministry’s Director of Finance, Mr Kayode  Musbau who was reported to have fainted,(foaming from the mouth) at a point on Wednesday and had to be rushed for medical attention. He was said to have been stabilized and returned for a continuation of the process on Thursday.

The testimonies of both officials according to ICPC sources thoroughly indicted Mr Mohammed as the sole mastermind of the fraud. Mr Musbau confessed to disbursing the money to some persons and companies on the directive of Mr Mohammed.

But Dr Ayanwuotaku who is the accounting Minister of the Ministry strongly denied any knowledge of the money coming to any bank accounts of the ministry either at the Treasury Single Accounts (TSA) or any other accounts held or kept by the ministry.

It was after Dr Anyanwuotaku’s testimony that Mr Musbau who reportedly sang like a canary was hauled in. Mr Musbau is a kinsman of the Minister from Offa in Kwara State was said to have been serving at the ministry of Police Affairs until 2019 when Lai Mohammed was reappointed for a second term lobbied the Office of the Head of Service to have him transferred to the ministry information. Mr Mohammed’s lobby for the transfer of Musbau to his office was seen as a move to secure his dealings which often got leaked and have been the source of many petitions to anti-graft agencies.

In the ICPC interrogation, which was video recorded, Musbau came in grandstanding. He claimed there was nothing wrong with the Ministry of Information warehousing the money for the DSO project as the supervising ministry of the NBC which he claimed had demonstrated overtime the propensity to mismanage public funds. He pointed out the controversy of a N2.5 Billion alleged fraud by a former DG of the Commission, Mr Ishaq Modibbo Kawu and an earlier one by another former DG Mr Emeka Mbah both of whom are standing criminal trials at the moment.

But Mr Musbau began to falter when the investigators asked him to provide the details of account where the money was been warehoused. Besides, when asked to provide his own personal Bank Verification Number (BVN) and National Identity Number (NIN) he claimed he could neither remember his BVN nor dial the shortcut on his phone because the line he came with wasn’t the line he used in opening his bank accounts. He also claimed he was yet to register for the NIN. But one of the investigators punched his laptop and printed out Mr Musbau’s NIN and BVN and cautioned him against attempting to tell any more lies in the course of the interview. “Theres nothing we are asking you that we don’t already know” they told him.

It was after this encounter that Musbau knowing he had been cornered decided to save his own neck and claimed that he was just a civil servant who diligently obeyed directives from his minister. He even disclosed to the investigators that most of the N10 Billion had been spent -directly disbursed by him on the instruction of Mr Mohammed to beneficiary companies namely Inview Nigeria Limited, Pinnacle Communications, Integrated Television Services (ITS) and Outsource Nigeria Limited. He said only a foreign company by name SES based in Luxembourg was yet to be paid as they were unable to reach “understanding” with Mr Mohammed.

He said Mr Mohammed had tried to get a consultant for SES which was not  registered in Nigeria  to help them facilitate their payment which cannot be “straight forward” because of their unregistered status, but “the white people mistook his good intentions for an attempt to arm-twist them into giving kickbacks and angrily rejected the money”. He said the money amounted to about $5 million USD or N2.4 billion. He furthermore disclosed that an excess of N600 Million which was earmarked for the NBC recurrent expenditure on running the DSO project had been substantially depleted by Lai Mohammed. He told the ICPC that Dr Anyanwuotaku wasn’t told of the money on the instructions of the  Minister because the woman was always ‘too rigid’.

On getting details of the indicting testimonies given to the ICPC by Mr Musbau and the Permanent Secretary, Mr Mohammed desperately reached out to the NBC DG to ask that the commission initiates a letter to him asking for the full DSO money. Besides he was said to have directed the DG and his management Staff to hold a press conference and deny Pointblanknews.com last week’s investigative report which exposed his scam  of diverting the money and the ICPC Probe. Aides of the Minister complained that the new DG has been rude and insubordinate refusing to cooperate with the Ministry to work as a team to address the current challenges

But the DG, Mr Illela who was appointed only two months ago was only being careful not to suffer the same fate like his two predecessors who were successfully sacrificed by Lai Mohammed who made them the culprits of his own scams when they were only following his directives.

The most recent was the N2.5 Billion scam where the NBC following Mr Mohammed’s verbal directive just like the one been presently ignored, asked the then NBC DG, Mr Kawu to bring a memo applying for N2.5 billion to be paid to Pinnacle Communications as seed money to build infrastructure for the DSO project. Mr Kawu carried out the directive and the money was paid to the company. But an outcry from players within the industry blew the scam wide open which brought the ICPC.

But Mr Mohammed claimed he was deceived by the same Kawu he verbally directed to initiate a memo and using his influence as a major stakeholder of the APC and the government, the ICPC was unable to rein him in and drag him before the courts to answer to his crime which was not only obvious from the approval he hastily gave to the memo to release the N2.5Billion but N150 Million was traced from Pinnacle Communications directly to the accounts of his son, Mr Folajimi Jubril Mohammed who is now a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Besides, pointblanknews.com finding indicated that Kawu was in no place to deceive the Minister as there was no love lost between Kawu and Mr Mohammed because of the former’s rising popularity in Kwara State at the time . It was said the former DG was been pressured to run for governor. Kawu’s popularity in Kwara according to sources was said to have kindled Mohammed’s hostility. Thus the memo which Kawu acquiesced to writing which cost him his job and a prolonged prosecution which is still ongoing was actually an act of submission not to offend the minister who he believed was looking for excuse to deal with him.

Before Kawu, Mr Mohammed had also sacrificed Mr Mbah the DG he met in the NBC when he was appointed a minister in 2015 in similar circumstances. In 2016 Mr Mohammed was said to have convened a meeting between the service providers of the DSO Project, the NBC and himself where he suggested that to assure the contractors of timely payment for any contractors discharged the money earmarked for their payments will be kept in Zenith bank rather than deposit it in the TSA.

But when the anti-graft agencies got whiff of the deal and came calling Mr Mohammed washed his hands off. Not even his approval and the minutes of meetings he conveyed to take the decision produced by Mr Mbah was enough to extricate him and rein-in Mr Mohammed the mastermind.

With the benefit of knowing about these previously exploits where the DG of the NBC ended up carrying the cans when the chips were down, while Mr Mohammed always worked free despite his very filthy fingers, the new DG Mr Illela is said to be on the alert refusing to obey the implicating directives Lai Mohammed was churning out to escape the ICPC dragnet. Illela reportedly angrily complained that why does Mohammed now want to return the money when it has become a subject of investigation and when almost 75% of it had been unilaterally spent without recourse to the commission. Beside he was said to have grumbled to the hearing of staff loyal to Mr Mohammed that the role of the NBC does not include defending the person of the Minister from allegations or whatever.

These utterances. got to the Minister who is said to be now telling all that care to listen that the ICPC probe is a plot of the Hausa-Fulani Cabal in the APC Government led by the Attorney-General Abubakar Malami and  a nephew of the President one Tunde Sabiu to bring him down because of his perceived loyalty to former Lagos State Governor and self-styled APC National Leader Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu. But he has reportedly vowed to bring down the roof on those behind his travails as he claims to have evidence that some of them benefitted heavily from the N10 billion.

But a source informed Pointbanknews.com that Mr Mohammed is drowning and therefore clutching at any and every straw he could conjure. The source said The Attorney General and Mr Sabiu may not even be aware of the issue except they read it in the media. “I don’t understand why he’s looking for people to stain rather than face his demons” a presidency official told our reporter on Monday wondering if it was Malami and Sabiu that have been responsible for the several other allegations of corruption made against him since 2015.

Indeed, Mr Mohammed’s reign in the Information Ministry has been a glossary of allegations and tales of fraud and corruption. In his first tenure in 2016 he was implicated in a N200 million scam involving the dubious procurement of 18.5 KVA and 13KVA generators but in actual fact nothing was to be suplied. When the scam was exposed, Mr Mohammed and his officials retreated and blamed the contractor for misunderstanding. But the money was kept aside. When they thought no one was watching anymore on March 29, 2017 one Bunmi Morgridge said to be the Deputy Director of General Services at the time raised a memo asking for the supply of some urgent office equipment including five Ford Ranger pick-ups and computer hardware and software. The memo was sent to the then acting Permanent Secretary one Hassan Dayar who quickly recommended the procurement. At the end of it all, they conjured papers and vouchers and claimed a contract for the supply of office equipment worth N180 Million was awarded. But no such supplies were ever made. The money was allegedly shared by the Mr and his management.  The scam was exposed but neither the EFCC nor the ICPC ever prosecuted anyone involved in the glaring act of corruption.

Mr Mohammed’s influence was believed to have been at play once more.  Another mega fraud exposed  involved the immediate past Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Grace Gekpe. A petition by one Clifford Ume addressed to the Special Presidential Investigative Panel (SPIP) claimed that money amounting to over N459 Million was embezzled by the duo of Lai Mohammed and Mrs Gekpe. The monies he said were proceeds of phantom appropriations for cultural centers in several Nigerian foreign missions which either do not exist or have been closed down since 2011.

The SPIP in its investigation and in an Executive Brief to President Buhari established that there have been several inflows and lodgments in Mrs Gekpe’s accounts which can only be the proceeds of corruption. The report noted that the total inflow into her UBA Savings Account amounted to N89,831,916.00 while her account in EcoBank had a total inflow of N299.385,428.92. Furthermore, she had lodgement amounting to N6, 971,265.00 in her Heritage Bank Account. Mrs Gekpe was also said by the panel to have a domiciliary Account worth $107,655.75 in her UBA Domiciliary Account.

Under interrogation by the SPIP the lady was said to have confessed that most of the cash were kept for her Honorable Minister, Mr Mohammed.

Indeed, Mr Mohammed’s track record of fraud and corrupt practices really stink. But so far the ICPC has been helpless. The more they dug into his grimy activities, the more powerful he would seem to have become. But investigators are hopeful that his magic wand to escape being held accountable for his sleazy crimes may have waned of late. His panic and desperate reaction to the exposure of his latest fraud and the investigative activities of the ICPC is seen as evidence that his wall of protection to loot with abandon is already caving in.

Lai Mohammed might be the next to go down....he has been fighting to bury his crooked ways

The regime of Buhari must desist from attacking human rights, civil liberties - Festus Ogun

And I begin to wonder why the same Buhari regime that derives joy in detaining suspected IPOB members without lawful justification is the same that treats Boko-Haram members with respect, courtesy and love.

This morning, I was reliably informed that one Emeka Richmond Ngornadi, a businessman, has been arrested and detained by the State Security Service (DSS) since April 2021 for allegedly making comments on social media in support of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and is critically ill in detention. Regardless of whatever crime he’s alleged to have committed, this is an abysmal abuse of human rights that should not go unchallenged. The SSS itself is a creation of law and cannot continue to act as if it is above the law.

Just last week, news came in that a 21 year old lady has been in illegal detention for over 67 days. Glory Okolie was arrested for being friends with IPOB members! What could be more illegal? What could be more vexing? What could be more scandalous?

After outrage by civil society organizations, human rights lawyers and concerned citizens, the Police shamelessly made a fruitlessly long press statement; making exculpatory explanation of the gross violation of human rights. The Police cannot explain itself out of this messy show of impunity. Whatever the alleged crime of Glory was, she is entitled to fair trial and treatment.

Under the 1999 Constitution, you cannot detain a citizen beyond 24 or 48 hours. Failure to charge Glory to court within 48 hours of her arrest made her incarceration unlawful and unconstitutional. My position is fortified my the sacred provision of Section 35 of the 1999 Constitution. Sadly, the Police, who are empowered to ensure law and order, are notorious for observing the law in breach. This madness must stop if we want a peaceful country.

Recall that I shared story about my client, Mr. Akintunde Muraina, who was unjustifiably arrested, tortured to the point of death, and released two weeks after ransom was paid. About a year after, he is yet to recover from the cruel dehumanization, trauma and abuse. Yes, the madness will certainly be challenged in the court of law, the solace of the oppressed. But, the fatal encroachment of human rights and dignity shouldn’t have occurred in the first place.

Hear me: This house we all live in is on fire and we are keeping quiet as though fire is the sweetest thing ever. Without doubt, our country has gone to the dogs and it has never been this worse.

The regime of Buhari must desist from attacking human rights and civil liberties. You cannot continue setting the dignity of citizens on fire by hiding under the pretext of fighting IPOB members. This calculated attack on Easterners must stop! Human rights are too expensive to be toyed with in this barbaric manner.

And I begin to wonder why the same Buhari regime that derives joy in detaining suspected IPOB members without lawful justification is the same that treats Boko-Haram members with respect, courtesy and love.

Our country remains a risk unless and until we learn to respect human rights, rule of law and the basic tenets of social justice.
