(VIDEO) PDP, APC Renew Animosity in Osun State

(VIDEO) PDP, APC Renew Animosity in Osun State

The narration in the video is by and for APC

The PDP point of view;

Those are APC members.

Currently, they are on the trail.

Two days ago the Former commissioner brought a grader to grade a road having done it successfully in his Irewole Local government, Isokan LG repelled and asked them to leave with immediate effect.

A few hours later, the chairman received information that they had started the grading with the support of Kabiesi of Apomu.

The chairman later sent the LG party chairman and one person to verify the rumor, on getting there they met multiple APCs with the motive that no one could stop them from grading.

The part chairman was asking them about the rights they have to continue the grading after the Chairman's order, and that's how they started throwing stones.

They reported the case to the chairman on the phone and police were sent to halt the situation. From there the grader was taken back.

Today Saturday 25th May, 2025, the leaders of the PDP in Isokan Local Government, Apomu, Osun State paid a courtesy visit to the scene of the event where there was crisis between our party and the opposition party in the grading of Oke Alfa roads in Apomu.

At the meeting, we listened to the elders, youths, women and the generality of the people at the affected areas. They narrated how the event unfolded and decried the way by which the opposition party was trying to use the advantage to soil the image of the party in power.

The people appealed to our party to continue the grading of the affected roads if the normalcy will be restored. They raised concerns on the dilapidated roads and other social amenities catering for the needs of the people.

In the party's response, the party Chairman, Hon Akeem Yusuff appreciated the community leaders present and their tenacity in the face of tyrant government that PDP sacked. He highlighted the party's achievements in the little time we have spent in office as a party.

I, on behalf of the leaders of the party, the local government Chairman, Alhaji Azeez Lateef MAO appreciate the community leaders present and assured them that the grader which will be facilitated by the PDP will be provided on Wednesday to finish the grading of the affected roads. I seized the opportunity to itemize what we have done ranging from grading of rural roads from Ayepe to Egbeda village, Apomu - Awala - Egbeda road, the current taring of Lagbaja to Ikoyi road, Abiri to Total market, St Barnabas to Agbowo road which will be constructed in no distant time in Isokan Local Government.

The party noted the ordeals of the people affected by the crisis and assured them of more dividends of democracy without further delay.

Similarly, I paid a visit to the road which was recently approved by the state government in Apomu under the leadership of Sen Ademola Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State. I lauded the Governor for this dividend of democracy provided for the good people of our local government and assured him of full support of the people towards his administration.

Lagbaja junction to Magistrate Court in Ikoyi is a very sensitive road in Isokan Local Government which when completed would improve the lives of the people and the economic development of the communities that the road links together. I join the myriad of leaders in Isokan Local Government to appreciate the Governor for a job well done and his love for our local government for this great gestures extended with the aim of improving the welfare of the people.

The Legal Issues involved.

1. The trial Court granted prayer A to E for Prince Adegboyega Famoodun.

2. The trial Court dismissed prayer F to L of Prince Adegboyega Famoodun and ordered that if Prince Adegboyega Famoodun committed any criminal offense, he should be arrested.

The implication of the Judgment:

The implication of the Judgement is that Prince Adegboyega Famoodun has failed woefully in the case, the impression given to Prince Adegboyega Famoodun by his team of Lawyers is that the Federal High Court will nullify the White Paper and return him back to the stool of Owa of Igbajo when they know fully well that the Federal High Court does not have jurisdiction over Chieftaincy Matters and they based Prince Adegboyega Famoodun case on this legal falsehood which formed the bases of prayer F to J which was dismissed by the trial Court.

The general public should know that there was never a time the Osun State Government is planning of banishing Prince Famoodun from Igbajo or to arrest him. He just want use this case if he succeeds to be parading himself as Owa of Igbajo when we have already have existing Owa of Igbajo, HRM Oba (Dr.) Ademola Makinde duly recognized by constituted authority and if Prince Famoodun does that, is highly Criminal in nature. I want the general public to disregard the fake news being peddled around by Prince Adegboyega Famoodun and his APC supporters. My best regards.

Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Good Governance condemned the harassment of Ademola's media aides by the State Security Service (SSS) in Abuja

Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Good Governance condemned the harassment of Ademola's media aides by the State Security Service (SSS) in Abuja

The coalition in a statement signed by its Secretary General, Comrade Olalekan Johnson, said it is unlawful for the SSS to force journalists to falsely implicate others.

Johnson said it is unprofessional for SSS to harass the journalists including the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mallam Rasheed Olawale.

He said: “It has come to our attention that this egregious harassment is being coordinated by the Director of Operations of the SSS, raising serious questions about the agency’s impartiality and commitment to upholding democratic principles.

“For clarity, we are very much aware of the disposition of the Director General of the organisation, Mallam Yusuf Magaji Bichi to professionalism and impartiality within the service and the actions of the Director of Operations, clearly contradict what Mallam Bichi’s leadership represents.

“The focus of the SSS investigation, as we have learned, is to coerce a journalist into disclosing the source of a story, a blatant violation of journalistic ethics and an illegal act in itself.

“Furthermore, the SSS is attempting to force the journalist to falsely implicate others as the source of the story, resorting to obtaining false confessions under duress, an action that not only undermines the rule of law but also tramples upon fundamental human rights.

“It is evident that the subject matter under scrutiny is inherently political, as Governor Ademola Adeleke’s direct political opponent, former governor Gboyega Oyetola, is allegedly behind the SSS harassment.

“This raises serious concerns about the impartiality of the SSS, which should operate free from political interference. By acting as a political tool of a particular politician against his opponent, the SSS is betraying its mandate and eroding public trust in the agency.

“We remind the SSS that the matter is already before the Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun State, rendering any further action by the agency as sub judice.”

According to the coalition, by proceeding with its invitations and harassment of Governor Adeleke’s media aides, the SSS is not only disregarding the principle of judicial independence but also committing contempt of court, an affront to the rule of law.

The coalition noted that the ultimate goal of the SSS’s actions appears to be to muzzle the press, as evidenced by the inhumane treatment inflicted upon the publisher of the said story.

“We reiterate that if any story is deemed offensive, the proper recourse for the affected party is to pursue legal action for libel or defamation, not to resort to intimidation and harassment.

“We call upon the Director of Operations at SSS headquarters to cease his involvement in this politically motivated investigation, as his actions tarnish the reputation and integrity of the agency.

“The Director-General of the SSS, who is known for upholding professionalism and non-partisanship, must intervene and hold accountable those within the agency who are undermining the rights of the media and free speech.

“The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations stands firm in condemning any attempts to stifle press freedom and undermine democratic values.

“We urge all stakeholders, including the SSS, to uphold the principles of justice, fairness, and accountability in all their actions,” it said.

NEWS RELEASE: Osun Projects: All Contracted Companies are Legally Registered and Lawfully Engaged- Osun State Government

NEWS RELEASE: Osun Projects: All Contracted Companies are Legally Registered and Lawfully Engaged- Osun State Government

The Osun State tate Government has denied a biased and unfounded report from an online news platform, alleging that the state government awarded a contract to a company untraceable on the website of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

Reacting to the report, the Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi berated the online platform for its jaundiced and one sided report which from all intent and purposes are designed to tarnish the image of the State Government.

While affirming that all contracted companies are duly registered with the CAC, the Commissioner further declared that no serving public official is a owner or director of any of the companies handling the state projects

“There is no truth in all the conjectures put together by the writer. All awarded contracts followed due process and in accordance with all procurement laws and processes.”

“In particular, A’skorj Nigeria Limited which was awarded the contract for the construction of 7 span bridge at Oke Fia intersection, Osogbo, is duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and was awarded the contract, having satisfied all the requirements and being the most qualified after the bidding process”, he disclosed.

"The certificate of registration for the company as filed with the Ministry of Works during the bidding process is numbered 1160780. We attached a copy of the registration certificate to this release.

"On the alleged award of contract for the construction of 4 span bridge across Osun river and dual 2 span bridge to the company of the deputy speaker; Raregeode Company Limited, the Commissioner explained that the Deputy Speaker was not a director of the company as at the time of the bidding process. Records showed he  resigned from the company in March 2023 after his electoral victory.

“No family member of  the Deputy Speaker or the Deputy Speaker himself was involved  in any way in the contractual process.  In fact, the Deputy Speaker has resigned from the company since he won his election last year.

“The company was selected after a thorough bidding process with respect to all procurement laws and due process. A thorough check with the CAC will confirm that Mr Ireyode was no longer a director in the company

“We believe the fake news from an otherwise reputable platform in need of enforcement of professionalism is the handiwork of the opposition party who are already jittery and worried by the success of several ongoing infrastructure projects across the state. The multi-billion naira infra projects are being implemented with all seriousness and in compliance with procurement and other extant laws.

"We want to reiterate that no amount of distraction and propaganda can stop the government in delivering these projects in allotted time.

"We assure members of the public that there is no smoking gun or any form of favoritism or corruption in awarding contracts by this administration. There is strict adherence to procurement laws and due process”, he concluded.

Minimum Wage: Governor Adeleke Advocates Review of Federation Account Sharing Formula

Minimum Wage: Governor Adeleke Advocates Review of Federation Account Sharing Formula

● Osun Governor Deserves Labour Fellowship Award- Comrade Isa Aremu

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has called for the review of the Federation Account Revenue sharing formula as well as the moving of solid minerals from exclusive to concurrent legislative list.

The Governor made the advocacy in Lagos on Thursday while attending the South West zonal public hearing on the new national minimum wage. Governor Adeleke represents the South West at the National Tripartite Minimum wage committee.

Addressing labour leaders and other delegates at the public hearing, the Osun State Governor said there is a consensus on the need to increase the minimum wage but noted that a review of the revenue sharing formula and amendment of legislative list are necessary to boost the capacity of the states to pay the new minimum wage.

“In all our meetings and various deliberations, one thing that the committee has been able to establish is that the workers in Nigeria are due for an improved welfare package. There is a consensus for an upward review of the National Minimum Wage because the existing one has become unrealistic.

It has to be reiterated that the majority of the governments at the Sub−Nationals can hardly sustain an improved wages and salaries for their workers without a significant adjustment in some of the narratives in the national economy.

“In tandem with the public outcry for the review of the sharing formula for the federation account, the time has come for the federal government to revisit the matter. There is an urgent need for the review of existing sharing formulas in favor of states and local governments.

“I call on the National Assembly through the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to urgently take decisive action to look at the ratio objectively and realistically.

Additionally, the nation must remove solid minerals from the exclusive legislative list.

Every state in Nigeria has been blessed with one form of natural resources or the other. There is a strong appeal to move solid minerals from exclusive to concurrent legislative list”, the Governor submitted

On the new minimum wage, the Governor posited that “our position from Osun State is that workers deserve improved wages and salaries. Osun state government is in support of a new and realistic minimum wage for all workers within the limit of the available resources in a very sustainable manner.

“While it would be desirable to see that a uniform minimum wage is agreed on a national basis, it would amount to self deceit to assume that states have equal ability to pay.

He however posited that individual states would have to negotiate with their workers and agree to a realistic and sustainable minimum wage in line with the available resources.

Meanwhile, frontline labour leader and the Director General of Michael Imodu Labour Institute, Comrade Mike Aremu has applauded the pro-labour and pro-worker policies of Governor Ademola Adeleke, affirming that the Osun Governor deserves a labour fellowship award.

Speaking at the public hearing, Aremu said both the Lagos state Governor , Babajide Sanwoolu and Governor Adeleke are penciled down for the labour fellowship of Michael imoudu institute for being labour friendly.

“Governor Adeleke, you are doing very well in Osun . You are paying salaries regularly. You are clearing the pension baggage. You deserve such awards”, Aremu posited.

He equally called the attention of labour leaders on the need to be mindful of the principle of affordability in the struggle for the new minimum wage.

“As much as the new minimum wage is strongly needed now, I must also canvas the question of affordability and sustainability.

“We may ask for one million naira as minimum wage but we have to think of capacity to pay. We have to think of the survival of workers as much as the interest and survival of businesses and the establishment. We must have a balancing act.”, Aremu noted.

The Minister of Finance and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun was the Chairman of the zonal public hearing.

“We have the land. We have the enabling environment. Osun is already a huge construction site. You are welcome to the site.

“To the good people of Osun, more are coming. As I’m talking to you, more investors are knocking at our doors. We will not relent in the ongoing drive to expand Osun economy and ensure better life for our people”, the Governor concluded.

...charges youths to risk investment opportunities

Osun State Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has commissioned Crescendo Sports Lounge in Osogbo, urging the youths to take advantage of the enabling environment of the current administration of Osun State.

He tasked the youths to take investment risks and count their gains, even in the face of economic downturn bedeviling Nigeria.

This assertion was made by the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, who represented the Governor at the commissioning of the investment project at Alekuwodo Osogbo, on Friday 23rd February, 2024.

Recall that the commissioner paid a final inspection tour to the project site barely a week ahead of the day of commissioning.

Crescendo Sports Lounge, a subsidiary of A1 Pinnacle Services Ltd, in partnership with the Osun State Government, is a realization of a dream of the current administration to turn Osun from Civil Service State to an industrialized one.

The Commissioner described the Sports Lounge as a laudable achievement of Governor Adeleke, whose yearning is wooing local and international investors, since his assumption of office, now yielding positive and physical results.

"I make bold to say that, what we are commissioning today is the first of its kind in the entire South West region. The materials, especially, the synthetic grass are of international standard. Its strategic location will no doubt attracts sports lovers within and outside the State. By this project, some of our youths will be gainfully employed and their mental alertness developed through various sporting activities. These will equally boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)", the Commissioner said.

According to the Commissioner, " the phase we are commissioning today is just the first phase. As you can see, the phase II, that will house other indoor games will equally be completed and commissioned in no distant future. Mr. Governor, as a lover of Sports, will be on ground to cut the tape".

He appealed to  the "youths and all sport lovers to use the opportunity of this facility to develop their God-given talents. An adage says 'an idle hand is the devil's workshop'. Don't just pay to watch a match, but develop your skills as well".

"People who can risk investment are the ones to make gain in such an adventure. If there is no risk, there is no gain at the end of the day", he said.

"I want to laud the efforts of the Chief Executive Officer of A1 Pinnacle, Mr. Tunde Oladimeji, for deeming it fit to contribute his own quota to the development of our dear State. Other interested investors are assured of enabling environment to drive their businesses" Rev. Jenyo stated.

The Commissioner was accompanied by the Management team of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
