OPINION: Owolabi - Murdered in Nigeria, buried in America

OPINION: Owolabi - Murdered in Nigeria, buried in America

One of the greatest shortcomings of Nigeria’s existence is that she has never evolved into a nation.

The amalgamation of territories, imposition of the colonial masters, the unfortunate intervention of the military and its attendant maladministration of the civil-society, and the corruption-infested politicians have not actually given the country that opportunity to realize her potentials. To be honest, it is because Nigeria’s handlers have different motives and a diametrically opposed understanding of the concept of development that her journey to nationhood has remained an illusion.

As we know, there is no generally acceptable interpretive understanding of the concept of development. For instance, part of the organic components of a nation is the understanding of the meaning of the concepts of citizenship. It is on this premise that a nation thrives. In other words, since no nation flourishes without its citizens, any nation that wants to thrive must have its organic components in place and the majority number of the population must share, intimately, the rudimentary knowledge and understanding of what it means to be a citizen, as agreed to, and enshrined in the constitution of Nigeria. Otherwise, it will just be as if one is running against the wind.

On July 28, 2022, Olugbenga David Owolabi was kidnapped alongside his staff, Rachael Opadele in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, by yet-to-be-identified kidnappers. Owolabi was a Nigerian-American who had come to Nigeria, to invest in the hospitality business in Ogbomoso, his hometown. On August 3, 2022, they were senselessly killed by their abductors, despite the payment of N5m ransom. Owolabi was buried on October 1, 2022 which, as fate would have it, coincided with a very important day in Nigeria’s chequered history. Opadele had earlier been buried in Ogbomoso, on August 5, 2022. Like the others, Nigeria has again succeeded in making the sun of three of her promising citizens set at dawn.

Olugbenga Owolabi is gone; and there’s nothing anybody can do to bring him back to life. But, if he had known that the country he called his own didn’t understand what it meant to be a citizen, he wouldn’t have come to Nigeria at all, not to speak of investing here. Let’s face it: the short time he spent in the USA – and he became a citizen – is now the only gift God has given him. From the time mappings for his life, all things being equal, if he had not come here, those unredeemed killers and haters who have turned Nigeria into a pool of blood would not have slaughtered him like a ram. Of course, they’d not have killed him without the American government deploying its entire arsenal for battle against his killers.

Typical of the Nigerianness in us, nobody is talking about who killed Owolabi; and neither Oyo State nor his Local Government has uttered a word; forget about admitting that the State has lost an illustrious son. Rather, it’s been business as usual, as if nothing happened. No justice! Not even a show of pretence for it! Sad that, even up to the point of the corpse being flown abroad, no Nigerian officials were seen to have shown any semblance of sympathy, either by words or actions. Well, that’s to show how horrible our system is. In our clime, the worth of a citizen has gone into a nosedive! Why then should one die for the country?

Owolabi’s unfortunate death is not the first; certainly, it won’t be the last either! Since his murder, several other unresolved murders have taken place. Yet, the heavens have not fallen! And who cares? After all, those who died did not belong to the families of members of the ruling class. So, life goes on! But, again, this is Nigeria! America takes care of her living and the dead! Nigeria does neither! Here in Nigeria, life no longer has any meaning! Ours is a generation of wasters, in a very dangerous country! Against the backdrop of our illimitable woes, the leaders _“daily call on the citizens to make sacrifices while they (the leaders) wallow in privilege.”_ Tragically, the leadership doesn’t even understand why and how the country is being led to a moral free fall in all areas.

The general assumption is that Nigeria is a sovereign state, but the current state of heightened insecurity only suggests that she may have already been stripped of her sovereign attributes. Otherwise, how do we describe events in the land which have only shown that our leaders are in a wide sea of uncertainty with regard to how a nation evolves; the inalienable rights of a citizen, and why he or she must be accorded such? Remember the 2013 Boston Marathon domestic terror attack and how the American government rose to the occasion! Remember how US Special Forces rescued Philip Walton, an American citizen held hostage in Nigeria in 2020! Here in Nigeria, the late Hamani Tidjani was only unlucky to have positioned his wind vane wrongly. And he paid dearly for it! On Owolabi’s gruesome murder, even the texture and essence of the _Nigerians in Diaspora Commission_ (NIDCOM) seem to have been seduced into compliance with sickening silence.

Had Oyo State Government been truly there for those it was elected to serve, somebody in government would have noticed the state administrative protocol gap in Owolabi’s unfortunate murder, and would have issued a statement on behalf of the government. That his remains were taken back from the land of his birth for internment in a foreign, adopted country was a big shame of unimaginable proportions. But again, how did we get here? For God’s sake, how does one belong to a country where human lives are not valued; where _“yesterday’s dreams have become the worst nightmares”;_ where _“very sharp pieces of broken promises”_ have become the new ideology? And, if we may ask: what is the functional relevance of Nigeria’s sovereignty? Isn’t that why a Leah Sharibu could still be languishing in the terrorists’ den even as the government continues to behave as if it never happened?

The social thoughts of a society, I was made to understand, undergird the thought flows of its citizens. For example, when President John F. Kennedy famously urged Americans “ask not what” their _“country can do for”_ them but _“what”_ they _“can do for”_ their _“country’,_ that became the mantra in the USA that even a kid in that _‘God’s own country’_ was always ready to die for the American flag. On the converse, have we asked why Nigeria now looks _“like a boiling pot that everyone wants to escape from”_ and why Nigerians are with misdirected aggression prepared to _‘japa’_ into certain deaths in Ukraine?

With happenings like this in Nigeria, national consciousness and the concept of patriotism are on the verge of losing both their meanings and relevance; of course, with huge national security implications! Nigeria may also lose investors and her capacity for economic growth will be hindered. To put it bluntly, what it means is that, once the central value of citizenship is lost, the entire country is lost. The more reason the handlers of Nigeria must do a new orientation programme that will teach Nigerians to be patriotic. In doing this, the government should lead by example. Otherwise, the scheme will fall like a pack of cards.

May the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world, rest the souls of the faithful departed and grant us peace in Nigeria!

FLASH: GRAPHIC (VIDEO) Missing 22-year-old Girl In Lagos BRT Found Dead, With Her Private Parts Harvested

FLASH: GRAPHIC (VIDEO) Missing 22-year-old Girl In Lagos BRT Found Dead, With Her Private Parts Harvested

Devastating and Heartbreaking news just filtering in confirmed that 22-year-old Oluwabamise Ayanwole, who got missing after boarding a Lagos BRT Vehicle has been found dead with her private parts mutilated and harvested.

My God! what wrong did this young fashion designer who was coming from her working place do by boarding a Lagos govt bus with number 240257 going to Oshodi from Lekki? Nothing is Safe anymore even a govt bus? I'm so tired.

The name of the driver of the BRT that kidnapped and killed Bamishe for money rituals is NICE ANDREW OMININIKORON. He is still on the run.

Insecurity in this failed state called Nigeria has gotten out of hand, the fact it was perpetrated with a govt BRT bus shows how desperate and the audacity of these kidnappers, Ritualists, killers, Armed robbers etc.

They are everywhere, no one is safe anymore when will the cursed and thieving regime of Bokohari and Olosibanjo declare a state of emergency?

Nigerian govt urged us to take BRT buses because it’s safe, yet bamishe was murdered inside a BRT bus and her private parts removed.

There should be a massive protest at all Lagos BRT bus stations. Either they provide the driver or they stop functioning. Bamishe's death cannot be swept under the carpet like others.

Timothy Adegoke’s Death: Abuja Court Denies Hotel Owner Bail, Adjourns Case till January 2022

Adegoke

A Federal High Court in Abuja has on Thursday denied Dr. Rahmon Adedoyin, the detained proprietor of Hilton Hotels, Ile-Ife, Osun State; a bail leave but granted him access to medical facilities of his choice, pending the hearing of his fundamental human rights enforcement suit.

Mr. Timothy Adegoke who was an MBA student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, allegedly strangled to death and shallowly buried within Adedoyin’s hotel.

In the court on Thursday when the matter came up for hearing, Adedoyin, who is also the founder of the Oduduwa University, Ile-Ife, through his counsel, Kunle Adegoke, SAN, informed the court that its order made on December 6, 2021 for the IG to appear in court, was duly served on the police boss as directed.

Adegoke said that on December 8, he personally visited the Police Headquarters in the FCT and reminded the authorities that the case would be coming up on Thursday. He however, expressed surprise that the IG was not in court and was not represented by any legal practitioner and prayed the court to take the ex parte motion already filed, as the IG had been put on notice as directed.

Adedoyin in the ex parte motion filed along with the fundamental human rights enforcement suit, prayed that the accused be admitted to bail pending the conclusion of investigation by the police or the determination of his fundamental human rights enforcement suit.

While delivering his ruling, Justice Inyang Ekwo after listening to the defense counsel denied a bail leave but granted the request to the effect that the police should allow the detainee to have access to medical facilities of his choice pending the hearing and determination of the fundamental human rights suit.

The judge thereafter adjourned the matter till January 21, 2021.

Meanwhile, the court had on Monday declined to grant any of the prayers contained in the ex parte motion and instead ordered Adedoyin to serve the motion and other processes on the police boss and consequently adjourned the matter till Thursday for hearing.

In a supporting affidavit, Chief Segun Aworinde, who described himself as Adedoyin’s younger brother, said despite being informed that the detainee was hypertensive and diabetic, the police had refused to release him or allow him access to quality health facility since he was arrested on November 15, 2021.

It should be recall that the autopsy report on late Adegoke, has been reportedly submitted to the police headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, according to informed sources. Reliable sources disclosed that, “Adegoke died of severe trauma while his internal and external organs were intact. The internal organs like heart, kidney, livers and others could not be subjected to test because they are already in the advanced decomposition stage as at the time of carrying out the test; so they could not do that.”

The autopsy report was said to have established that both internal and external organs are complete, and they are in the normal position that they are ought to be.

Sources stressed that medical experts could not do a toxicology test on the body because the stomach had decomposed and was melting while they are carrying out the test.

“Severe trauma led to the death. I don’t know the type of trauma that he was subjected to before his death because the severe trauma that was arrived at, was an open-ended conclusion.

“Trauma could be as a result of hitting him with sticks or he falls, or sickness, or anything”, the sources revealed.

WARNING! ⚠️ GRAPHIC CONTENTS: Remains of Timothy Oluwadare Adegoke on exhumation

This is the remains of Timothy Oluwadare Adegoke on exhumation.

Remember he is wrapped with the hotel's bedsheet and hotel duvet and put in a carton before burying him in a shallow grave. Hence, the body and the blood-soaked clothing wasn't contaminated with soil.

One can see the blood socked T-shirt clearly. Zoom the photo and notice his neck, around the left shoulder and see what is left of his left arm.

Yet, one of the principal suspects Adedoyin while still in Police detention can declare his own Post Mortem Report of intact body parts.

The Nigeria Police may needs to explain to the public how Adedoyin was  able to make voice notes and post the same on Social Media while under detention.

Nigeria is a miracle country. Once you have rotten blood money to throw around and about, miracles will start happening!

A land of Illegalities!

May calamity befall anyone who has a hand in evil, or assists is submerging evidence that can help to expose evil in Nigeria or anywhere else.

Amen.

TIMOTHY ADEGOKE OLUDARE AND THE RITUAL MURDER IN A HOTEL, WHAT YOU SHOULD LEARN

TIMOTHY ADEGOKE OLUDARE AND THE RITUAL MURDER IN A HOTEL, WHAT YOU SHOULD LEARN

Some of us may be aware of the recent happening of one TIMOTHY ADEGOKE OLUDARE a Chattered Accountant and Director of Finance in one Multinational Company in Abuja who traveled down to Ile Ife to write his master’s degree exam but was murdered in his hotel room where he lodged.

Timothy

Report indicates that Timothy came into Ife from Abuja on Friday 5th to write his exam on 6th & 7th and to go back on Sunday evening or Monday.

As his usual coming on weekend for his master program, he usually lodged at a hotel named Hilton and Resort Hotel in Ife, one of the prominent hotels in town and only to be declared missing by his wife and family when they can not reach him for 2 days.

In the process of searching for him by the anti-kidnapping team from Osogbo, it was established that he lodged in Hilton hotel and the hotel management murdered him at midnight with evidence showed his body was wrapped with hotel blanket and bed sheet and buried at the upper side of the hotel in Ife the Dustbin arena and reliable sources said that spot has been the burial ground for various victims after some part from his chest was removed.

How Did the Police Investigation know this?

They demanded for his national Id Card from his family, but his wife was able to provide the earlier hotel receipt of Hilton where he used to lodge whenever he came for his weekend program.

They visited the hotel, but the lady receptionist denied admitting the young guy into the hotel, but a transfer payment was traced to her account that Timothy paid for 2 nights in the hotel and receipt was issued to him.

The manifest and receipt of the hotel was doctored with a page number receipt for Timothy was removed from the booklet.

The lady receptionist supposed to close at 12noon but called another staff to take over duty at 8am, that she had emergency call at Ejigbo. Her phone and Timothy’s phone was tracked to Ejigbo and eventually picked up by d police. She then pleaded with the police that she was ready to confess everything that happened

It was at her instance that all principal actors were mentioned and apprehended, including the Chairman of the hotel.

Contrary to earlier report that an herbalist from Ejigbo was involved. No please. The Manager "4", who is also one of the principal staffs of the hotel is an Alfa/ritualist and probably been used by the Chairman to carry out their evil plans. He had also confessed and in police net with 6 others

The lady also confessed that their Chairman Prince Ramon Adedoyin who happened to own Oduduwa University and Ife Polytechnic had hand in the brutal ritual killing and he has been arrested and detained.

The body of the man was exhumed and already taken to Ife teaching hospital for proper examination.

Investigation is ongoing to establish more fact about the hotel and the University and Ife Polytechnic

KEY ADVISE

Whenever you arrive in any hotel, make sure you make a call at the reception lobby to let them know you are informing your family member or friends or colleagues about the hotel you are lodging in, the name and address and study the mood of the receptionist and other hotel worker around you.

Make sure you obtained a receipt and immediately snap or scan the receipt and send to your family member, friend, or colleagues to show that you pay for a room and lodge there.

If you are making transfer payment, kindly generate payment receipt, and scan same to your office, family, or friend.

In the room, kindly check round the room very well before lying down, the doors, windows, mattress and under the bed, Waldrop, drawers if any, the toilet wash hand basin and sit, the AC to be sure nothing is hiding inside the room.

As you sleep always make call or contact to your close friend and family member that you are still there till next morning.

When leaving the hotel inform your family member and friends or colleagues that you are about to check out and study your surrounding when checking out.

Always call immediately you find yourself in an unfriendly situation in a hotel where you lodge for security assistant.

Please let share this tip to all our friends and family to safe lives.

#JusticeForTimothy: FURTHER PUBLIC STATEMENT ON THE GRUESOME MURDER OF MR. TIMOTHY OLUDARE

By: KAYODE AJULO & Co. CASTLE OF LAW

Our attention has just been drawn to a broadcast allegedly made by the owner of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Prince Rahmon Adedoyin with respect to the ongoing police investigation on the strange death of Mr. Timothy Oludare.

From the abysmal worldwide broadcast allegedly released by the Suspect from police custody, now trending both in print and social media, what was supposed to have been a solemn declaration and recording of statement at the Police facility was transmogrified into a musical concert or show of comedy fest, advertisement and a maudlin plea of non-guilt and exoneration by the Suspect.

What is more befuddling and disheartening is the fact that the Police who is meant to be an unbiased Investigating Agency would allow its custody to be used as a recording studio for the Suspect to toot his own horn!

Applying the test of a reasonable man, no doubt one will be led to the irresistible conclusion that the broadcast is not only an obfuscating façade but also a stratagem of invasion and confusion.

Considering the trajectory and the incendiary surrounding the heinous and gruesome murder of Mr Timothy Oludare, it is expected that the Police ought to have been very professional and discreet in ensuring that a thorough investigation is conducted, no matter how highly placed anyone could be!

Late Timothy Oludare

Be that as it may, while it is not in our stead to direct the Police on how to conduct its investigation, however the perdurable questions that urgently cry for answers are as follows:

*Since the exhumation of the Corpse of Mr Timothy Oludare, has the Police put a protective cordon around the facility extending to some radius beyond the location where his body was found? There is a probability that this not the first victim. The use of a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is an efficient and effective means to search for buried bodies.

*Was there a CCTV in the hotel? If no, why? It is pretty standard for CCTVs to be in public places especially hotels. If none was installed, same is suspicious and indicative of premeditation.

*Has the premises of the suspect been searched by the Police in order to discover any incriminating materials? If not, a warrant should be obtained to search his properties for such.

While we await the outcome of Police investigation, it must be stated with every sense of purpose that we shall ensure, as ministers in the temple of justice and adherent to the dictates of the rule of law that the water of justice is not muddled in the instant case by any guise no matter how highly placed anyone could be!

We therefore urge the Inspector General of Police to use his good offices to see to it that the deceased gets JUSTICE!

In the interim, while we await the completion of autopsy on the cause of death of the deceased, we take the liberty to request that the remains of the deceased be promptly released to his family for a proper and befitting burial.

Thank you

PUBLIC STATEMENT ON THE GRUESOME MURDER OF MR. TIMOTHY OLUDARE

PUBLIC STATEMENT ON THE GRUESOME MURDER OF MR. TIMOTHY OLUDARE

 KACCL/PS/OB/45                                                                   19th November, 2021

PUBLIC STATEMENT ON THE GRUESOME MURDER OF MR. TIMOTHY OLUDARE

We act as solicitors to the family of the deceased; our Client, whose illustrious son, Mr. Timothy Oludare, was murdered in a cold-blooded manner in his hotel room at Ile-Ife, Osun State and it is on their unequivocal instructions that we issue this statement.

For contextual expediency, it is needful to state that the late Timothy Oludare, a 37-year-old husband and father of three had travelled from Abuja to Ile-Ife, Osun State on the 5th of November, 2021 in furtherance of his Masters of Business Administration studies at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State. He subsequently checked in at the Hilton and Resorts Hotel owned by Dr. Ramon Adedoyin, the founder of Oduduwa University on the same ill-fated day. He went ‘missing’ for the next two days only for his dead and mutilated body to be found buried in a shallow grave near the hotel.

We welcome with keen interest, the news of the arrest of six suspects linked to the gruesome murder of Mr. Timothy Oludare by men of the Osun State Police Command on the 15th November 2020. Indeed, the preliminary investigation, arrests and findings have nullified the initial apprehension that the deceased must have fallen into the hands of killer herdsmen which if true, could have exacerbated ethnic tensions in Osun State and beyond. While commending the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force for these painstaking efforts, we however strongly want to emphasize that it will serve the overriding interest of justice to bring all those involved in this dastardly murder to book.

It is worrisome and sad that Mr. Timothy Oludare can be cut down in his prime for motives best known to his killers which of course, must be extracted and investigated by the Police without delay. It portends serious danger that a place meant to serve the temporary accommodation needs of Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike could in actual fact be a place where cold-blooded murders are orchestrated and carried out in the most desperate and daring manner. Again, we note the temerity and the audacity in which the murder of the late Timothy Oludare was carried out as contained in the preliminary findings made by the Osun State Police Command. According to the findings, our Client’s son was strangled to death in his hotel room, his body was subsequently mutilated and wrapped in a blood-soaked blanket/bedsheet belonging to the hotel and finally buried in a shallow grave near the hotel.

The law is clear that an offender(s) who causes the death of a person is guilty of murder under 316 of the Criminal Code Laws Cap 34, Laws of Osun State and same is punishable by death under Section 319 of the same law and it is our legally considered view that the confessional statements as obtained from some of the suspects are cogent enough to establish the varying degrees of guilt of all the suspects.

As things stand, the hotel and its vicinity are a crime scene and should be treated as such, nothing must be on the way of a thorough and wider investigation of this highly reprehensible murder because nobody irrespective of their status or influence is bigger than the extant laws of the land.

We therefore urge utmost professionalism by the Police in this matter; no stone must be left unturned to get to the root of this matter. On our part, we are ready to partner with the Police to ensure that justice is not only done but seen to be done. While we trust that this matter will reach its expected legal conclusion, we want to reiterate that we will not hesitate for a second to do everything within legally permissible limits to fight anyone who attempts to frustrate the expected end of justice.

Late Timothy

As it is historically believed that Ile-Ife is the cradle of the human race, it is important that the ancient city and by extension, other parts of the nation must not be allowed to become safe havens for murderers and other criminals alike. It shreds our collective humanity into pieces when the blood of any innocent Nigerian can be spilled without consequences.

Conclusively, as a firm committed to the promotion of the rule of law and protection of the fundamental rights of all law abiding citizens which include among others, the right to life, we are emphatically restating that the killers of Timothy Oludare must face the full weight of the law.

Thank you.
