Protest On going now at the Federal High Court Calabar Division in solidarity with Agba Jalingo

Again, Judge recused himself 

Nigerian CSO’s and other human rights defendersas well as Amnesty International Nigeria are at the Federal High Court Calabar Division in solidarity with Agba Jalingo.

They called on authorities to free Agba Jalingo and that Nigerian authorities should respect, protect freedom of expression.

Gov. Ben Ayade apologized after admitting publicly that he lied against Agba Jalingo that Agba did not blackmail him or an ex-Gov but he did not do the right thing which is to withdraw all the bogus charges against Agba relating to the claims that he plotted with me to overthrow his govt.

Agba Jalingo on Friday returns to court after 6 month of malicious detention mentby the Nigerian government due to false charges brought by Cross River State Gov. Ben Ayade and Nigeria's AGF Abubakar Malami.

The federal judge Simon Akpah Amobeda has once again recused himself  as Agba Jalingo returns to Calabar Prison.

AG of Cross River State has taken over the case from the Nigerian AGF’s office. Case file has once again been returned to the Admin Judge.

Human rights defenders were at the court showing solidarity and support for Agba Jalingo.




Agba Jalingo, a journalist has detained since 22 August 2019. He is charged with; treason, terrorism and cybercrime by Nigeria's Federal Government & Cross River State government.

Twice bail application of Agba Jalingo was rejected
