MAJOR GEN MUHAMMADU BUHARI AND THE NEED FOR A PRIME MINISTER - Femi Ogunsanwo

Genesis 41:1-4; "When two full years had passed, Pharaoh had a dream. He was standing by the Nile, when out of the river there came up seven cows, sleek and fat, and they grazed among the reeds. After them, seven other cows, ugly and gaunt, came up out of the Nile and stood beside those on the riverbank, the cows that were ugly and gaunt ate up the seven sleek, fat cows. Then Pharaoh woke up"

Folks I want you to reflect deeply over this passage in the Holy Bible we all knew about. But I want you all to situate the Bible passage with our socioeconomic issues in Nigeria and reflect over our economic situation from 2007 till date

The seven fat cows represents the time of bumper harvest from year 2007-2015 under Umaru Musa Yar'adua/Goodluck Jonathan administration when our country mainstay the crude oil was selling between $70/ barrel culminating at about $140/barrel in 2015

The lean and gaunt cows represents the current era of Muhammadu Buhari administration from 2015 till date where foreign receipts got depleted terribly to the extent during the pandemic crude oil price contracted drastically to about $25/barrel and our export allocation also reduced reason for the biting and excruciating economic conditions today in the country and a nation so blessed with "milk and honey" is now begging for loans and groaning under the excruciating condition of using all our forex receipts to service both our foreign and local debts

How did King Pharaoh solve the riddle in that dream? the chief cupbearer of Pharaoh who was in prison with a young Hebrew called Joseph, informed Pharaoh of the interpreter of dreams, the King sent for Joseph, and he interpreted the dream that God has shown Pharaoh what he is about to do. Seven years of great abundance are coming throughout the land of Egypt, but seven years of famine will follow them

Joseph admonished Pharaoh that he need to find a wise man and put him in charge of Egypt and appoint commissioners over the land, the plan seem good to Pharaoh and he replied Joseph in verse 39-40 "Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you”

People of God I will conclude and also suggest that President Muhammadu Buhari need to urgently look for his own "Joseph" a wise and discerning man (someone he is comfortable with but not a member of the cabal or his kitchen cabinet), appoint as Prime Minister or maybe Coordinating Minister of Economy (CME) and also appoint new Ministers who can give him the necessary and urgent support

May the Almighty Lord be with our President, give him the discerning spirit and wisdom to know what is right and wrong and for him to do the needful immediately. Amen
