*LETTER OF VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE ON THE STATE WORKING COMMITTEE OF AFRICAN ACTION CONGRESS, OSUN STATE.*
We Hereby Pass A Vote of No Confidence On The State Working Committee Of AAC in Osun State For Displaying High Level of Negligence and Gross Incompetence.
We Demand That the National Working Committee Dissolves The State Working Committee of AAC, Osun State and Inaugurate a Steering Committee to Paddle The Affairs of The Party With Immediately Effect pending when substantive leadership would be elected.
We members and Local government coordinators of AAC, Osun State hereby use this medium to inform the National working Committee of the the immediate need to dissolve the State Working Committee of AAC Osun State for the above stated reasons:
1 That the members of the committee have displayed high level of negligence and gross incompetence in accordance with the provisions of the AAC constitution in Chapter 12, Section 80(2 c&d). This has been causing setbacks to the progress of the party.
2. That most members of the State Working committee have been occupying the positions with a long time history of non-participation in party activities.
3. That most members of the State Working committee have no political Education required to be an members of the said committee in Osun State and thereby loosing contacts with the basic ideology of the party.
4. That the State Chairperson (Olumide Afolabi) has been paddling the Affairs of the party without being accountable and transparent.
5. That most members of the Executive Committee have been irresponsible to party members and unpatriotic to the party constitution/Idea, this is causing setbacks on the progress of the party.
6. That the party chairperson does not have the charisma and the cordinating ability to lead a Revolutionary party. This is evident in his inability to resolve minor conflicts and coordinate meetings in an orderly manners.
7. That the party excos has never publish financial reports of activities since the beginning of this tenure till date.
8. That the chairperson has no iota of respect for the fundamental rights of all members who have been labouring hard to work for the progress of the party by calling them prospective members during a state general meeting because majority of party members disagreed with leadership methods of running the party. This is against the provisions of the AAC constitution in Chapter 4, Section 7(b)
For us, we believe that a political party such as AAC should be operated within the basic principles of democracy, respect for human rights and organizational descipline, which is lacking at the moment among members of Osun state working committee of the party. We expect that the AAC party, considering the vision of her founding fathers' is a good way to go in terms of providing alternative platform for genuine change seekers in Nigeria to restle power from the present crops of Nigerian Inept/ corrupt ruling class. But bad leadership as exibited by the present Osun State leadership would make this vision a mirage.
We made bold to say that this resolution is well vettted by all members who appended their signature on it because they all want the total overhaul of the state leadership of the party for progress sake. It is however worthy of note that many financial members and prospective ones have abstained from the AAC party in Osun State because of lack of trust in the State leadership structures.
We might not be wrong to conclude that the AAC party will never move forward with the present sets of moribund state leadership structures, As most of them hardly have time to attend party meetings, mobilization programs and by so doing neglects their constitutional duties.
We want to conclude that "He who wants to be a leader must be ready to be a follower". It is on this note that we the undersigned members of the African Action Congress (AAC) Osun State Chapter, hereby humbly request, that the state working committee be immediately dissolved and a Congress be immediately and simultaneously summon for the appointment a 'Steering Committee' who will temporary pilot the affairs of the party pending when substantive election would be conducted.
