The publisher of Sahara Reporters and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the 2019 general election Omoyele Sowore has been reportedly shot by the police in Abuja, the NIGERIA'S Capital.

An eye witness account said: "It wasn’t stray at all. I was close to him holding his phone and recording. She shot immeditely she arrived the scene. Sowore was shouting “you just shot me” repeatedly. We were both looking at her with the hope that she would say it’s a mistake or even show some kind of remorse or shock. Her look suggested affirmation of her action. It was after the first shot, tear gas canisters were shot. She did it on orders."

The African Action Congress (AAC) in a statement signed by its publicity Secretary Femi Adeyeye condemned the attacks by the security operatives on the peaceful Protesters and called for the arrest and prosecution of the police officer who shot at Omoyele Sowore.
