US #coronavirus death toll climbs by 2,333 in the past 24 hours, a Johns Hopkins University tally shows - more than twice as many as the day before.
The university said as of 8:30 pm (0030 GMT Wednesday) the US had suffered a total of 71,022 deaths.AFP
The highest number of deaths occurred in the United States, where 71,022 people have lost their lives so far. At least 1221,655 people have been caught by the virus. However, 1,89,164 people have also been cured.
UK on Wednesday emerged second most affected country after US by the coronavirus infection with over 32,000 death toll.
Britain has now overtaken Italy in terms of deaths. However, Italy is ahead of the UK with 2,13,013 cases of infections where 1,94,990 people have been infected so far. On Monday, Italy received about a thousand cases while 85,231 patients have been cured so far.
