Injuries and deaths following airstrike on Iran-backed militia HQ along the Syria-Iraq border

Injuries and deaths have been reported following US air raids and strikes to quench the retaliatory attacks against the US military base and embassy in Iraq by the Iran backed militias as a fall out from assassination of IRGC military commander Qassem Soleimani.

Numerous U.S. helicopters in the air over Baghdad to suppress the reported wide-scale attacks in at least 5 targets with US forces present/nearby currently struck US Embassy, Baghdad Al-Jadirya neighbourhood, Baghdad Balad Airbase Al-Kindi Camp, Mosul Former Presidential Palace, Baghdad.

The Saturday attacks follow the Friday assassination of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani in a US drone strike, as well as pro-Iran protesters storming the US Embassy in a siege earlier this week.

A group of US military helicopters have been spotted scrambling over Baghdad in the wake of Saturday’s rocket attacks.

There have been no official reports of injuries, but video footage appears to show civilians being injured as a result of the attacks. There appear to be no US military casualties at this time.

As actions speak louder than words, the assassination of Gen. Qassem Soleimani is a clear departure from the policy of sanctions, showing Trump's readiness to use US military might as much as its economic power.
