US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the embattled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Lisbon where the duo discussed efforts to counter what they termed an Iran’s destabilizing influence in the Middle East region.
The two figures also discussed the importance of economic cooperation with regional partners and other issues related to Israel’s security.

Iran has been suffocating under the United States' economic sanctions and military threats since President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from the Iran's nuclear deal with the world powers and Germany.
