"With these attacks, America has shown its firm support for terrorism and its neglect for the independence and sovereignty of countries and it must accept consequences for its illegal act," government spokesman Abbas Mousavi said in a statement.
The airstrikes, according to Pentagon, was carried out by Air Force F-15E fighter planes, hit three locations in Iraq and two in Syria controlled by the group, Kataib Hezbollah.
Jonathan Hoffman, the chief Pentagon spokesman, said the targets included weapons storage facilities and command posts that were used to attack American and partner forces.
In a quick approval, Israeli Foreign Minister said the Pentagon's announcement about the five attacks on centers of the Hizbullah organization in Iraq and Syria, in response to attacks on Iraqi coalition forces, is a turning point in regional reality against Iran's conduct and metastasis.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Israel Katz in a tweet said if the Iranians make a mistake in understanding the nature and power of the United States, they will suffer blows that have never been absorbed.
US Defense Secretary Mark Esper said airstrikes against a pro-Iran militant group in Iraq and Syria succeeded, and he did not rule out additional action "as necessary."
""The strikes were successful. The pilots and aircraft returned back to base safely," Esper told reporters after F-15 jet fighters hit five targets associated with Kata'ib Hezbollah in Western Iraq and Eastern Syria.
" Esper said. "And I would note also that we will take additional actions as necessary to ensure that we act in our own self-defense and we deter further bad behavior from militia groups or from Iran."
The United states and Iran have been immersed in in series of threats since President Donald Trump unilaterally withdraw from the Iranian Nuclear deal signed under former president Barrack Obama with the rest of world powers and Germany.
U.S has since embank on campaign of maximum pressure with series of economic sanction aimed at creeping the Iranian economy and forced the Persian back to the renegotiation table.
Iran remained resolute against the unilateral U.S stances but pressure other European signatories to the Nuke Deal to faithful in their pledge to circumvent the U.S. sanctions.
