Nigeria: Oyo Police Arrest Illegal Arms Dealers With Over 10,000 Firearms in Ibadan

The Oyo State Police Command have arrested 4 people who allegedly supplied arms to different armed robbery syndicates in the State.

The State Police Commissioner, Shina Olukolu, disclosed this on Thursday, at the force head quarters at Eleyele, Ibadan while showcasing the force achievements in recents time in the fight against crime and criminality in Oyo State.

Olukolu noted that following intelligence gathering, a team of operative from SARS swung into action, bursted the hide out of the criminals at Oke Bola area of Ibadan and recovered about 10,000 live catridges.

Meanwhile, the police boss advised Oyo State resident as they prepare for the Eid el Kabir festival to be vigilant, careful and also observant while boarding motorcycle particularly those not registered in order not to fall victim to armed robbers and fraudster who use this medium to perpetrate crime.

He enjoyed resident to be careful of the places they visit and who they associate with while carrying out their legitimate business and financial transaction.

While appreciating residents for their support so far, he pleaded for cooperation in order to bring to the barest minimum and win the fight against crime and criminality in the state.
