How Russian warship slams into Ukraine tugboat which may have started new war

The Russian special forces later opened fire on Ukraine ships at the Kerch Strait in the Black Sea and injured crew members

Dramatic footage captures massive Russian warships slam into Ukrainian tugboats in the Black Sea - a moment which may have sparked a new war.
It is now feared a dangerous new crisis between the two countries has have been ignited - with Ukraine having already announced it's calling a 'war cabinet' tonight.

The incident happened at the Kerch Strait in the Black Sea as Russia stopped three Ukrainian ships from crossing the border.

The shocking clip shows a Russian vessel dart towards the tiny tug and smash into it.

Voices of, seemingly, Russian sailors can be heard in the background.

Russian special forces later placed a huge cargo ship beneath a bridge it controls.

And it is believed Russia opened fire on the vessels , seriously wounding at least two crew members.

While Russia hasn't yet responded directly to the allegations, it did state Ukraine caused "a provocation" today.

Now Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has called a meeting with his top military and security chiefs to discuss the overwhelming situation in the Black Sea.

The Ukrainian Navy wrote on Facebook: "After leaving the 12-mile zone, the Russian Federation's FSB (security service) opened fire at the flotilla belonging to... the armed forces of Ukraine."

Relations between the two countries are still very raw after Russia's 2014 annexation of Ukraine's Crimea and its backing for a pro-Moscow insurgency in eastern Ukraine.

The wider conflict has now escalated further.

It has come after it emerged Vladimir Putin will open the longest and most controversial bridge in Europe to connect Russia with the annexed Crimean peninsula.
