LAGOS LOCAL GOVT ELECTIONS: AAC heading to court as the part, 11 others disenfranchised by LASIEC

The Lagos chapter of the African Action Congress (AAC) and 11 other Political Parties have been disenfranchised by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) from participating in the Ongoing Local Government Elections in the State.

The party in a statement signed by the state chairman Kunle Ajayi and secretary Towolawi Jamiu said it is approaching a court for such arbitrary exclusion from the poll.

"Our party (AAC) has already commenced legal actions against both the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against this ugly and unfortunate incident that have denied Lagosians a golden opportunity to change the old order that have been embedded with corruption, poor health care, poor education, youths unemployment, rising prices of goods and services, lack of infrastructure, insecurity  and multi dimensional poverty which have been the trademark of the All Progressives Congress (APC) regime since 1999."

AFRICAN ACTION CONGRESS (AAC) LAGOS CHAPTER

*STATEMENT* *AS THE* *LAGOS* *LOCAL GOVERNMENT* *ELECTIONS* *HOLDS* *TODAY* *24TH JULY 2021*

The leadership of the African Action Congress (AAC) Lagos Chapter wish to inform all our members and supporters that the AAC alongside 11 other political parties have been disfranchised illegally from participating in today's Local Government Elections by the partisan and highly corrupt Lagos State Electoral Commission (LASIEC).

In aftermath of this, Our party (AAC) has already commenced legal actions against both the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against this ugly and unfortunate incident that have denied Lagosians a golden opportunity to change the old order that have been embedded with corruption, poor health care, poor education, youths unemployment, rising prices of goods and services, lack of infrastructure, insecurity  and multi dimensional poverty which have been the trademark of the All Progressives Congress (APC) regime since 1999.

We also want to use this opportunity to urge all our members to stay clear all polling units and boycott the entire elections which has already been rigged in favour of the highly corrupt and anti people ruling All Past Criminals (APC).

However, We must really commend all our members, candidates, supporters and well wishers that have really worked tirelessly in the past two years to make sure we take Lagos back from the hands of vampires and give power back to the people.

Lastly, we must continue to mobilise Nigerians from every nook and corner in order to build more formidable forces that will eventually bring down the entire system that only works for the few ruling class and their cronies and replace it with a system that works for ALL (Oppressed).

A people united and determined can never be defeated.

Signed:

Kunle Ajayi (Wiseman)

Chairman,

Lagos AAC.

Towolawi Jamiu (Jharmo)

Secretary,

Lagos AAC.
