This morning, I wanted to know why Akpan Uduak who killed an innocent job seeker Iniubong Umoren have not been paraded by the Nigerian Police as they usually do even for alleged suspects who sometimes are not guilty, how much more a self confessed killer and rapist.
I then decided to call the Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Police Mr. Andrew Amiengheme after asking him of the rumour flying around that Uduak is dead he debunked it and jokenly said yes he's "dead" in the social media. I then asked him why is it taking so much time to parade him? he said he'll be paraded later today.
I then waited patiently for it and at noon the police paraded the ritual "Otokoto" killer alleged to be working with about 4 Akwa Ibom House of Assembly Members, 3 National Assembly members, and 9 pastors, which I am not too surprised knowing fully well the extent these men can go in Nigeria. Akpan was looking so cute, fresh, relaxed, pampered and even wearing a customized Tee Shirt with the inscription "The Mudder Squad".
I was so shocked because the same police that strips, torture and humiliates peaceful protesters now know how to treat a confessed killer with dignity and respect. I watched in disbelief the mockery and prententiousness of the police I became very sad and angry as Akpan began to spew trash which I think was scripted, imagine him saying Ini agreed to have sex with him with condom and later while removing the condom she hit him with a stabilizer and then he took the stabilizer to hit her back in self defense. I was mad.
I also think the journalists that questioned him made a caricature of themselves. One asked him "Were you in love with her? "Why did you remove the condom?" At that point Akpan was trying so hard not to burst into laughter with so much confidence. I am afraid this case will go the way of several others who never got justice.
The bribale police is extremely corrupt and they work for the criminal ruling class and the rich thieves to get away with anything. The legal system is worst because they pervert justice. In Nigeria everything is rigged against the "poor and nobodies.
After graduating from University of Uyo, all Iniubong Umoren wanted was to get a job and take care of her siblings as they are orphans. I am tired. May her soul rest in peace.
