"When a government makes peaceful protest impossible ; It is an invitation to violent protest"
We hereby demand immediate release of the above named Nigerians who were arrested This morning by Nigerian police force ,Lagos command.
Is is pertinent to makes it clear that the above mentioned Nigerians were staging peaceful protest to demand justice for the victims of Lekki shooting on 20/10/20 until their arrests and are currently been tortured in the police custody.
We want to affirm that the right to peaceful protest in a democracy is also a Democratic right of every citizens as enshrined in the Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria1999 amended.
We hereby appeals for calls to be made by members of the public to the contact line of CP HAKEEM ODUMOSU,+23408065668179 to demand of immediate release of those unjustly arrested.
We sue for caution on the part of the Nigerian ruling class who are hell bent on criminalize peaceful protests. It is important to state very clearly that peaceful protest is a basic method of democratic engagement and will continue until demands on Lekki shootings, Osogbo killing and killing of other innocent Nigerians are investigated and culprits brought to book.
