Over 300 school girls kidnapped in Zamfara, AAC renewed calls for Buhari, Osinbajo to resign

The notable opposition political party in Nigeria, African Action Congress (AAC) has again asked the incumbent Nigerian President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice prof Yemi Osinbajo to honourably resign as the duo have failed as president and vice president respectively.

AAC renewed the call on Friday after the reported kidnapping of another nearly 300 school girls in Zamfara state.

Taken to its twitter handle, the Yele Sowore led party asks Buhari led APC administration to throw in the towel.

The party said: "Another 300 girls abducted in Jangebe Zamfara! At this rate, APC regime under the clueless, corrupt and despotic #Buhari may end up using our entire national budget including loans from China for payment of ransom to bandits. We demand #Buhari and @profosinbajo 's immediate resignation."

BUHARI MUST GO !!!

The nearly 300 girls abducted this morning at Government secondary school Jangebe, Talata Mafara local government by Banditary gunmen who have been enjoying negotiation from the Buhar's led pro terrorists government.

News of the latest abduction comes less than two weeks after armed men broke into Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State.

The attackers had raided staff quarters and hostels, where they picked their victims and took them into the forest.

Although Nigerian President leading a very corrupt and nepotistic government as usual ordered security agencies to ensure their immediate release, the victims are still in captivity.

On Thursday, Governor Sani Bello of Niger alleged that the federal government had abandoned the state on the issue of the release of Kagara victims.

In an audio that went viral on social media, a man who spoke on behalf of the captors of Kagara victims, threatened that they might starve to death.

This is the first time in Nigeria that gunmen will stage large-scale abduction of students from different schools in less than two weeks.

The first major attack on a school by an armed gang happened in Borno State, where over 300 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, were abducted on April 14, 2014.

Four years after, gunmen hit Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, and abducted 119 students.

In December 2020, over 300 male students were abducted at Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State.

It should also be noted that the emergency of Buhari in the first instance in 2015 as the president was anchored on the electoral promises to tackled insecurity and redeemed the economy but it has compounded the woes of the land with the emergency of many armed bandits and groups threatening the security of lives and prosperities more than ever.

The party calls on Nigerians to prevail on the failed leadership to resign and allow the country to move forward.
