FAMILY VIGIL: IN THE DAY OF HIS POWER
DAY 3: MONDAY 18TH JANUARY, 2021
FOCUS: LOVE, UNITY AND FAITHFULNESS IN THE FAMILY
TEXTS: 1 COR. 13, JOHN 3:1, 11-18
The Almighty God was the originator of love. He displayed this during the creation of the universe. He created man last and made him the head of all He created (Gen. 2:7-8)
Man fell into sin; yet His love and care, He sent His only begotten son to come and redeem man back through His blood (John 3:16)
Our love for each other in this family should be like that of the father and His son Jesus to the entire world.
Love, unity and faithfulness are back bones of any ideal family.
With love, you will endure one another. You will easily forgive anyone; you will keep on doing good without any contrary motive.
You will spend and be spent.

Unity in the family is like a bunch of broom, it does what no single broom stick cannot do. It is to do what is expected of you by the family members, when everybody played his or her part according
to God’s will. As a father or mother; do you play your role well?
As children in the family, are we in unity with our parents by doing
what will lift up the family?
Faithfulness is to be just in anything, anywhere and at every point in time. Can your family depend on you? What kind of representative are you? Can God depend on you? If you are faithful from home to school, school to work, and in public places one day you will enhance do your family pride. Remember Joseph, none of your family members should join the bad eggs but stand for faithfulness and good names.
Prayer Points
1. O God, thank you for the great love you have for our dear family.
2. Father, let Christ like love fill our heart in this family hence forth.
3. In Jesus name, devil will not turn our love to lust.
4. Father, let our love in this family win others to Christ in Jesus name.
5. Power to forgive and forget; we receive it in Jesus name.
6. Power of godly unity; come to our family in Jesus name.
7. Father, all forces of disunity over this family are destroyed in Jesus name.
8. O God, help all of us to be a faithful representative of this family anytime, anywhere.
9. Give to us power to leave a pleased and holy life unto you O God
10. O God, bless this family all-round.
11. We shall all live to see many years in peace and in joy of the
Lord
