11. “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord GOD, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD.
12. They shall wander from sea to sea, And from north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, But shall not find it.

MESSAGE:
The Israelites in their own wisdom caused the Nazarites to subvert their pledge to abstinence.
Many Israelites loved intoxicating drinks (Amos 6: 6). In view of this, they influenced the Nazarites to break their vow, caused them to drink wine and commanded the prophets not to prophesy what God said (Amos.2:12). Despite God’s warnings, Israel repeatedly rejected the word of God. Therefore, God did not send any prophets to them; neither did they receive divine guidance. God gave them to their own sinful desire. No judgment is greater than this. In our contemporary time, manyi nfluence ministers of God to speak what they want to hear not what God says. Also, there are lots of people who influence others to break vows, they compromise their faith and live a worldly life. Present situation has led to the scarcity of the truth in our society. There must be commitment from concerned believers to stop this unhealthy spiritual practices to avert God’s wrath.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: The only way to prevent spiritual famine in the land is for concerned Christians to be obedient to God’sword
PRAYER POINT: Help me and my church not to face spiritual famine of the word of God.
