US to test F-35 jet against Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile system at the Hmeimim Airbase in Syria: media

United Sates is poised to test the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning war jet against the Russian S-400 system at the Hmeimim Airbase in Syria, media has reported.

American and NATO glorified F-35 may at any time take on the Russian formidable beasts called S-400 which can spot even any stealth aircraft like the said F-35, and using a relatively cheap missile, down a jet that costs many hundred times its own value.

If used correctly, S-400 missile has been said to be highly effective against the adversaries. Russian S-300. S-400 and S-500 are profoundly capable weapons.

Under the title, “U.S. is confident that the F-35 is capable of destroying the S-400 in Syria”, Victor Sukerko wrote in the Russian publication “Svobodnaya Pressa” about the U.S.’ intention to test their F-35 against the Russian S-400 system in Syria.

According to Sukerko, “apparently, the American promotion of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is not going well in the global market, as long as they decide to sacrifice it, and put it in the range of the Russian S-400 air defense system.”

The journalist points to the U.S.’ upcoming F-35 test in Israel, which he believes will be used to specifically test the S-400 system at the Hmeimim Airbase in western Syria.

This claim was corroborated in an article by the Russian publication, Avia.Pro, as they said the U.S. will “conduct tests against the anti-aircraft missile system deployed at the Russian Hmeimim Airbase Syria.”

In the Avia.Pro article, they argue that Israel was not chosen as a “test wall” by chance. Combat aircraft in Israel periodically launch airstrikes in Syria, which gives the U.S. a basis to understand the complexities of the Russian air defense system.

“Therefore, the United States intends to demonstrate, with its partners, the combat capabilities of the F-35 in overcoming the modern Russian air defense system. On the whole, the site chosen for testing is ideal,” they added.

Presently however, the Russian S-400 is arguably one of the best all-around strategic Surface to Air Missile systems in operation today. (And there is an even better replacement in the form of the S-500.) Particular strengths of the S-300 and the follow-on S-400 series are their extended reach, their flexible ability to strike at different targets (primarily aircraft, but also cruise and ballistic missiles to a degree) and their sophisticated sensors, which Russia claims include some anti-stealth capability which the U.S will soon test in Syria.

U.S. F-35 may not going to succeed against the Russian S-400 In the hands of competent and well-trained crews . The S-400 can inflict significant damage on an adversary as their ranges allow them to target key enemy enabler aircraft, such as valuable aerial refueling tankers and airborne early warning and control aircraft.

Their flexible targeting capabilities mean they can defend against multiple different types of threats and attacks. And their — albeit limited — anti-stealth capabilities offer the potential to bring down some of the best combat aircraft currently in operation.

If however, F-35 by any means destroyed the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system at the Hmeimim Airbase in western Syria, it may bring a disastrous end to the Russian military campaign in the Arab country.
