About 4 thousand patients with coronavirus in Russia are in serious condition

About 4 thousand patients with coronavirus infection in Russia are in serious condition, from 1.2 thousand to 1.5 thousand people are in intensive care beds. This was announced on Wednesday by Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Health.

“There are between 1,200 and 1,500 people in the country in resuscitation beds. All are conducted jointly with the federal advisory center, and we have created an information system on which each patient (outpatient and inpatient) is visible on which bed he is now. Therefore, we can see all patients in bunks.Today, 80 thousand of these patients are not only with a covid infection, they are those who come with unspecified diagnoses and community-acquired pneumonia of all etiological causes. in total, "he said.

According to him, in Russia more than 120 thousand beds have been deployed to provide medical care to patients with coronavirus infection, which is about 10% of the total number of beds in the country. "Today, a total of 126 thousand beds have been deployed throughout the country, [where] they provide medical care to patients with coronavirus infection. <...> If you take all the beds that are included in the state statistical reporting, this is around 10% of the beds in Russia, "he said.

Murashko emphasized that by April 28, as planned, 95 thousand beds had been deployed, 126 thousand beds, he said, had been organized "already with a margin." "We have prepared recommendations for executive authorities on additional deployment of beds," he added.

Additional payments to doctors

The Minister noted that additional payments to doctors working with patients with coronavirus are on time, without delay. According to the minister, 10 billion rubles were allocated for the first additional payments, they began to be issued in February.

"As of today, this money  is paid on time, we don’t see any delays, and we haven’t received any appeals on this issue," Murashko said.

He also said that most regions have stockpiled personal protective equipment for at least two weeks. “We see in the monitoring conducted by Roszdravnadzor and the Ministry of Health that today most of the regions have stocked up and have at least a two-week supply - this is encouraging. There are regions in which we keep the situation under control, since there are reserves everywhere, another question is that when additional patients - such especially flash situations happen - we additionally transfer these personal protective equipment directly to the region, "he said.

Primary health care modernization

The Minister of Health allowed a half-year postponement of the launch of primary health care modernization, which was scheduled to take place on July 1, due to the pandemic of a new coronavirus infection.

“The most probable is a shift in the start of modernization of primary health care directly from July 1 to six months, because even implementation today will be difficult, because mobilization of forces [is directed] in the other direction. Even the issue is not so much financial as how to implement, although the programs are all delivered, the programs are all assembled, "he said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 3.6 million people have been infected with the coronavirus in the world, more than 250 thousand have died. In Russia, according to the federal operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus, 165,929 cases of infection were registered, 21,327 people recovered, 1,537 died. The Government of the Russian Federation launched the stopkoronavirus.rf resource to inform about the situation in the country.
