EPL: 9 clubs will today ask that the season is finished by June 30th

As the COVID-19 bits harder and the UK government announce another 3 weeks extension to the nationwide lock down to curb the further spread of the Pandemic virus, football clubs are putting plans in place to get their current seasons finished in the summer.

Premier League club will be involved in a meeting today and they are expected to ask the league to have the current season finished by June 3oth at the latest.

The Independent reports indicated that at least 9 Premier League clubs have already expressed their desire to get the season finished by the end of June, and they will raise this at today’s meeting.

The issue is with the players contracts that are running out at the end of June, and as to avoid any complications there – finishing the season before then is the preference.

Several clubs are even said to be considering voiding the season due to the contractual complications.

We will wait with anticipation to see the outcome of today’s meeting.
