COVID-19: Half of humanity is forced to self-isolate due to the threat of the virus

More than $ 3.9 billion Half of the world's population is now forced to remain in their homes to curb the spread of COVID-19 infection, according to data released by AFP and reported Thursday.

While the virus has been confirmed and reported in more than 180 countries and territories around the world, more than 90 have implemented specific measures in response to the New Coronavirus pandemic, including mandatory or recommended self-isolation, curfew or quarantine.

Schools, religious houses have been closed while public gathering are prohibited in many countries to curb the spread of the deadly virus that has killed nearly 50,000 people and infected nearly a million others globally.

Olympic, leagues and many other sport events around the world have been postponed.
