Abba Kyari the powerful Chief of Staff to Nigerian President succumbed finally to cold hands of death yesterday, his position will now be filled by another person soon and everything will move on smoothly without him and the whole earth abides forever like we read in book of Ecclesiastes
Political leaders and power mongers should learn and draw lessons from his passage. We are all mere mortals, no one is superhuman or too powerful, only God Almighty is powerful and all knowing.
Unfortunately, many of them are too vain and power drunk to realise that wielding power in this world is transient and transitory. You are there today and will surely not be there tomorrow
The admonition in Yoruba Anglican Church during interment at graveside goes thus "awa ko mu ohun kankan wa si aye, bęni a ko ni mu ohun kankan jade lo, oluwa fifun ni, o si gba lo, ibukun ni fun oruko oluwa, ogo ni fun olorun" (For we brought nothing into this world and it is certain we can carry nothing out, God giveth and taketh, glory and blessings to Jehovah's holy name)
1 Timothy 6: 6 -10 "But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out and having food and raiment let us be therewith content. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people (citizens) into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs"
