Russia registered first death from coronavirus in Moscow

Russia has recorded its first death casualty from coronavirus in Moscow. Tass reported.

According to the national consumer watchdog in a statement on Thursday, over 22,000 people in Russia remain under medical observation over the novel coronavirus,

"A total of 62,541 people have undergone medical observation so far.

The first victim of the Virus was an elderly woman who tested positive for the COVID-19 at hospital in Moscow, the coronavirus monitoring center said on Thursday.

"A 79-year-old woman was taken to the hospital on March 13, and transferred to a private clinic at her family’s request on March 14. 

After testing positive for the coronavirus, she was transferred to the Infectious Hospital Number Two," the statement reads. "The deceased had a number of chronic diseases," the center added.
