RESIGNATION: What APC National Chair Adams Oshiomole Should Between Now And March 16th do

Adams Oshiomole
Adams Oshiomole the suspended and embattled APC National Chairman need to throw in the towel by dropping his resignation letter between today and Monday the 16th March, many will scoff at the whole idea but present situation in the party indicates its the honourable step for him to take in order to douse the tension in the party and save his face.

Some folks reckoned his further stay in office will affect the party's fortune and they pointed at few mistakes he committed. Presently, the National Working Committee (NEC) under him is factionalised into two with a section supporting him, also the party lost few states (Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Oyo, Sokoto and Zamfara) in the last general election due to ineffective crisis management mechanisms in place, lost Imo State only to grab it back through a controversial court judgement, lost Bayelsa State presenting wrong candidate and nearly lost gubernatorial elections in Osun and Kano states respectively, they opined its all due to his lack of good management skills and the fact that he runs the party like an empire making unilateral decisions.

Going forward they reckoned if care is not taken and the crisis resolved immediately the party will lose in upcoming gubernatorial elections in Ondo and Edo States.

There are few mortal and unpardonable errors committed by Adams Oshiomole, the incumbent Governor in all the states has the offer of first refusal to be the party flagbearer, so how in this world will "outsiders" perceived to be sponsored or close to Adams Oshiomole camp like Chief Alli Olanusi former Ondo Deputy Governor under PDP leading the group challenging the incumbent Gov Rotimi Akeredolu for the party sole ticket in Ondo State

Ditto same ugly scenario is playing out in Edo State. In last gubernatorial election Osagie Ize-Iyamu contested under PDP banner against Godwin Obaseki of APC and he is now positioning himself to wrest the ticket of APC from the sitting Governor he contested against in 2016, that really looks far fetched and quite unfortunate plus the fact that he is also very close to Adams Oshiomole.

Anyway during the meeting and if Adams Oshiomole remains belligerent and chooses to grandstand, the carpet might be pulled off under his feet, a caretaker committee looks likely to be constituted to pilot party affairs till next Mini/Midterm Convention which will come up soon going by the dictates of the party constitution.

Already the following positions in the party are deemed vacant due to several factors; National Chairman, Deputy National Chairman (North), Deputy National Chairman (South), National Secretary, National Auditor, National Vice Chairman (Northwest). If folks like the National Publicity Secretary, National Legal Adviser do not sheathe their swords and "reason with others", they also might be suspended paving way for a fresh mint top NWC positions that will emerge through affirmation

Also FCT High Court in a ruling yesterday restrained, Waziri Bulama; National Legal Adviser, Babatunde Ogala; National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu; from taking any steps meant to disrupt the upcoming meeting of the APC National Executive Committee (NEC). The court also made an order compelling the 4th defendant (APC) to give effect to the resolution of the National Working Committee (NWC) convening the meeting.

Haba is it not obvious to everyone already what will happen on Tuesday during the meeting, any smart and wise person will realise the game is over, tender a resignation letter and negotiate soft landing. Political arena is a place of consultations and not meant for confrontational disposition

Please correct me if I am wrong.
