Earlier, Channels Television reported that at least 30 people were killed and many injured by the suspected bandits in Kaduna state.

Many of the residents fled as the assailants also set many houses ablaze and carted away foodstuff.

A former Senator of the Federal Republic in the Nigeria's 8th Senate Shehu Sani later confirmed the Mass killing in a condolence message on his Facebook account when he wrote:

Allah ya kawo dauki.

The affected villages are Kerawa, Rago, Marina, Zariyawa, Hashimawa, Gidan Musa Saidu, and Unguwar Barau.

Also, while the police authorities and Kaduna state government are yet to officially confirm the attack, an indigene of Giwa local government told Channels Television that Troops of the Nigerian Army and Air Force launched offensive attacks against the bandits and in the process, killed many of them.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Mohammed Jalige, according to Daily Trust reports, said he got information about the incident not long ago. He said he had already contacted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the area who visited the scene to brief him about the incident.

Sources also said that the bandits launched the attacks in what seems like revenge against the villagers who they accused of providing information to security agencies which resulted in the killing of their members.

Attacks against the harmless and defenseless people and their villages have become a reocurrent tragic incidents in Kaduna state most especially under the Malam Nasir Elrufai governorship tenures in the state.

The military is reportedly carrying out offensive attacks on camps occupied by the bandits inside the thick forests within Giwa, Birnin Gwari and Igabi local government areas of Kaduna state.

The level of insecurities, killings, attacks, kidnappings and rampages by the banditry, Boko Haram and Herdsmen under the current administration of Major Gen. Muhammadu Bhuari have been unprecedented.
