Sponsored Protesters Storm AI office in Abuja (PHOTOS)

The protesters invaded the Nigerian office of Amnesty International,  they arrive  in large buses from outskirts of Abuja, Nigeria's capital city on Tuesday morning blocking both the entrance and exit passage of the office.

Amnesty confirmed that this is not the first of its kind, the forth since  20 March 2017,  23 May 2018,  2 August 2019 and the latest been 11 February 2020

The protesting youths expressed solidarity with the federal government in songs, while preventing entry and exit into the office premises. They accused the organisation of fuelling insecurity in Nigeria and unduly interfering in the affairs of the country.

Protesters' banners and placards alleged that AI is the wheel behind Boko Haram, ISWAP, IPOB and other criminal terrorism in Nigeria.They asked the AI to vacate Nigeria. Others read: “Amnesty International bury your head in shame,” “Leave now or we will force you to leave.”
Why the Reasons behind the protest and sponsors can not current be ascertained, AI in a tweet said: @AmnestyNigeria: Among those assembled for the protest, at our office today; are youths who were screened out, and told that they will not be paid, because they are not ‘properly dressed.’ One of them protested.
AI said the protests were “sponsored”, and that they are “not affiliated to any interests, political, religious or commercial”.

Isa Sanusi, AI spokesman, had said in a statement: “Despite sponsored protests, we will not stay silent. In the face of efforts to evade responsibility or to smear our organization, we will continue to raise our voices whenever and wherever we see injustice, sexual abuse, discrimination against women, or any other violations of human rights in Nigeria.”
