Anyone can cross check the facts here, Buhari Presidency was factionalised right from the beginning. Their exist NSA Babagana Monguno camp with top security honchos as members, my former boss belonged to this group and the other camp of Mamman Daura led cabal with Babagana Kingibe, Isa Funtua and Chief of Staff Abba Kyari as the lynchpin. The Mamman Daura group played a very fast one on the other group and controls everything today
President Buhari would have been in full control of his government if he appointed his former Chief of Staff Col Hamid Alli (Rtd) during campaign as his Chief of Staff but the man got appointed as Comptroller General Customs (CGC), his deputy Col Abdallah (Rtd) appointed Chairman NDLEA and the third in rank then at Buhari Support Organisation (BSO) who acted as Chief Security Officer Alhaji Abdulahi Maikano got a different role in the Presidential Villa
The cabal members even though very close to Buhari were complete outsiders during campaign in 2015, they did not contribute in anyway, so they probably effected the redeployment of former key aides of Buhari elsewhere for them to have full control of levers of power and I will admit they did it to perfection and thats a masterstroke, plus Buhari top aides during campaign were mostly trained security personnel, they are not politicians so they are "fish outside water" in political arena, the politicians and bureaucrats were headed by Engr Sule Hamman Head, The Buhari Organisation (TBO) and Engr Buba Galadima former National Secretary defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) who parted ways with Buhari before 2015 election
The cabal led by Mamman Daura deployed an effective strategy, you can verify the veracity of this claim also, the only person Buhari trusts with official documents who will hand the documents to him from campaign days is his nephew Tunde Sabiu, so they drafted him into cabal camp and when he got appointed as PA to the President that role makes him very powerful and sometimes documents meant for the President which will be received and processed through the office of Chief of Staff do not get to the President at times. These got the security camp exasperated in most cases
One personal experience rings bell, one forensic accounting firm discovered remittance to government from 2007-2017 were not remitted to the federation account, so I was given the document to pass to my former boss who acted as CSO during campaign. I met him and delivered to him and he got elated by the discovery and thanked me profusely for my effort, when I demanded that the document should be received officially and Presidential Villa stamp need to be on it, he replied "Femi do you want C-In-C to see this document" I replied yes, he now informed me if it passes through the normal channel of the office of Chief of Staff, the President will never see it, in front of me they brought out a big "Secret Envelope" and he assured me his boss will see it immediately and promptly dispatched through DSS Operatives attached to his office
I reckon the official document leaked from Office of the NSA (ONSA) is actually a counter strategy and I am surprised the NSA is coming out now after almost 4 years of bitter rivalry and infighting in the system, he is probably tired of all the shenanigans around him. I pray the crisis they managed for many years will not snowball into an uncontrollable one before Buhari leaves office in 2023
Let me admit one stark truth here from little I gathered with my "ears to the ground" which many might not believe. President Buhari meant well for Nigerians initially when he came to power, his sickness plus his usual disposition of complete trust in people and total reliance on most especially family members or associates led to the unrestrained power Abba Kyari wields today usurping the role of anyone and everyone as Chief of Staff, who is unarguably the most powerful one in our chequered political history
