So the Nigeria's highest lawmaking body, "the Senate" on Thursday began moves to establish an agency that would see to the rehabilitation, deradicalisation and integration of repentant insurgents in the country.
In the first instance who asked the Nigerian government to deradicalised and work out the repentance salvation for the mass murderers of the innocent Nigerian law abiding citizens?
To be law abiding in Nigeria is not profitable and rewarding at all, most especially with leaders who spend millions to take cares of the incarcerated individuals they put into prison in defiant to court orders but failed to provide basic social welfare to its law abiding citizens.
The ongoing de-radicalization and reintegration of repentant Boko Haram insurgents under the “operation safe corridor” of the defense headquarters should be a course for concern for not only members of the Civilian JTF but every Nigerian hoping for a better country where lives of the citizens matters.
The would be Boko Haram terrorists arrested should have been arraigned in court if not for terrorism but for various murders, kidnappings, rapes and many other atrocities committed not only against the Nigerian state but against individual in the North Eastern part of the country and beyond.
The members of the Islamic state and al Quada linked terror group called Boko Haram which rechristened itself as ISWAP ( Islamic State of West African Province) should be tried and send to correctional centres to serve jail terms but as thing are playing it out already, no one should doubt it that Boko Haram terrorists are a government sponsored killer machine in Nigeria and that they are fully in charge of the affairs of this country right now under this Buhari regime.
In the past, there are some of them who were reportedly been absolved into the Nigerian army while non terrorist but able Nigerian youths are not find it easy to be enlisted in the service of the Nigerian Army. Major General Muhammadu Buhris' retaining the service Chiefs since 2015 must be to perpetrate such more atrocious acts in favour of the Boko Harma elenments.
Going by the past comments even by Buhari himself and the claims that the Boko Haram/ISWAP group get their weapons from Libya, one will just know and concluded that Nigeria leadership problems persist unabated. Nigerian Government funds Boko Hram either directly or through calculated proxy means by allowing the group to attack and overrun military bases to recoup their arsenal for more terrorism acts.
Other fact is that the gulf of Guinea supplies weapons to all form of criminal groups in West African sub-region even including the Libyan militias.
The incompetent, anti-Nigeria and pro Boko Haram Senators who should have come up with policies and programes in terms of bill and appropriation on how to fund the civilian Joint Task Force (JTF), reward their courageous fits, the lawmaker who should have come up with agency on how to rehabilitate and resettle the Boko Baram displaced innocent Nigerians as a result of failed leadership for many decades are coming up with concession for the group that should be totally exterminated.
Is there any agency for the rehabilitation of IDPs who are the true victims of the Boko Haram menace. Certainly, there is also no agency for rehabilitation of Nigerian soldiers who are suffering from fighting Boko Haram.
After the creation of the agency for these ISWAP terrorists, then they will have ministry and have minister for Boko Haram.
Going by the timelines of the Boko Haram atrocities in Nigeria since July 2009 up till date, there shouldn't be any doubt that any government or its officers coming up with such a bill to rehabilitate the group must be insanely a Boko Haram apologies.
Creating an agency for repentant Boko Haram members is simply a message to Nigerian youths that terrorism is rewarding in Nigeria and all must embrace it.
It's obvious that the current chain of the leadership in the country which have been in place since 1966 coup and counter coup have nothing good to offer to the Nigerian state anymore, the highest they could offered was the free and fair June 12 election of 1993 which they annulled in their conspiracy. They even conspired and killed the winner (MKO Abiola).
Coming up to differentiate between them will not be less than stupidity and expecting anything good from their generation means you will wait till eternity.
