Pompeo urges world to end 'tyranny' of Venezuela's Maduro

United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urged the world on Monday to support ending the "tyranny" of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

"I have seen firsthand, the devastating consequences of the dictatorship," Pompeo stated during a press conference in Bogota. "The world must continue to support the efforts of the Venezuelan people to return to democracy and end the tyranny of Maduro, which has an impact not only on Venezuelans in Colombia but throughout the region," he added.

Meanwhile, it was announced that Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido would attend the World Economic Forum in Davos.
