In this upcoming Finals before final, Liverpool reds are not underdogs to the Catalan giants, its 50/50 as both teams aimed to reach the final and lift the Trophy of the European League.

Uefa Champions League Trophy

Ajax, Barcelona, Liverpool and Tottenham are this season's 2018/19 Champions League semi-finalists.

Tottenham Hotspur v Ajax,

Barcelona v Liverpool

Liverpool will face Catalan giants, Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League after beating Porto.

Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax encounter in Amsterdam semi-final first legs will be played on Tuesday 30, April, return legs on Aay 8.  And Wednesday 1 May for the Reds and Barcas semi-final first legs at the  Camp Nou, with the returns legs taking place the following week in Anfield (May 7).
The kick-off time for both matches, Tottenham Hotspur v Ajax and Barcelona v Liverpool, first and second legs is 8.00 pm West African Time.

Three former Liverpool stars, Michael Owen; Robbie Fowler, and Steve McManaman, have predicted the outcome of the Champions League semi-final tie between the club and Barcelona.

Delivering a style of play that pleases fans has not been a problem for Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, but the wait for silverware under the German is not over yet. There is every chance it will be within the next few weeks, however, which will only add to his already strong popularity on Merseyside and beyond.

Liverpool defeated Porto 4-1 on Tuesday night and 6-1 on aggregate to secure their place in the last four.

It was goals from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk that secured Liverpool’s passage.

Owen backed Liverpool to reach the final of Europe’s elite club competition, as they did last season.

Owen told BT Sport, “With the first game at the Nou Camp that’s a huge advantage. Going back to Anfield that’s a real bonus.”

Fowler also feels that Jurgen Klopp’s side will get the better of Barcelona.

He said on BT Sport, “I think they’ve got a great chance. Man United showed at Old Trafford that teams can get behind them. With Liverpool’s attacking prowess, they’re more of a match for anyone.”

McManaman added, “I fancy an English team to win the competition this year. Barca were impressive against Man United but I don’t think they’re as good as two or three years ago.

“I think the English league is stronger than La Liga. If you can keep Messi quiet and bully him, I don’t think they’ve got that much.”

With how they handled Manchester United team both at Old Trafold an Camp Nou, weaknesses are not easy to find in this current Barcelona side, but if there is one it is that most of their key players – Messi, Suarez, Pique, Busquets – are now the wrong side of 30s and they no longer play with the same zip as they used to.
Finding replacements from the famed academy has not proven easy, and expensive imports intended to plug the gaps have not always settled quickly or easily – something which goes for both of the most expensive, Coutinho and Dembele. Some of Valverde’s more conservative tactics may be an admission they cannot dominate for 90 minutes in the way they once did.

For the English side, you will be similarly hard-pressed to find a weakness in Klopp’s Liverpool team. Shortcomings at the back have long since been addressed by the arrivals of first Van Dijk and then Alisson. If there is a complaint, it relates to squad depth.

The Reds’ first XI can match up to anyone, but if they suffer injuries or suspensions the second string, particularly in attack, is not as strong.

In this upcoming Finals before final, Liverpool reds are not under dogs to the Catalan giants, its 50/50 as both teams aimed to reach the final and lift the Trophy of the European League.

Ajax Amsterdam will be at home against English Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday April 30. The Dutch warriors that dismantled and eliminated the defending champions Madrid and STUNNED Ronaldo's Juventus to reach the semi-finals of the champions league with a 2-1 comeback win in Turin can not be under estimated against the 'Spours.

Having eliminating Real Madrid, champions for the previous three seasons, and now Juventus, Erik Ten Hag's exciting young side should not be underestimated against any team.

As Ajax became the first Dutch side to reach the last four of the Champions League since 2005.  The team in their last six matches played have only one draw against Juventus wining rest  five. Tottenham  have lost three and won three of their last six games.

No doubt, Amsterdam side at home are the favourites in this football battle while the English team will be playing as the underdogs but any team can still win and qualify for the final.

A Tottenham Hotspur that eliminated Manchester City on away goals in one of the most incredible matches in Champions League history can still go through by any means. There were four goals in the opening 11 minutes of the game and non-stop action right up until the dramatic finale to an astonishing contest, when City had a stoppage time goal from Raheem Sterling, which would have sent them through, ruled out for offside after a VAR review.

City fans had celebrated what looked like the goal that sent them into the last four before the replay confirmed that Sergio Aguero was offside in the build-up.

Ever, Tottenham go through to the final four of the Europeans Champions League for the first time in the club’s illustrious history and hopefully they will want to put in everything to fly pass Ajax and face either Barcelona or Liverpool at the final.
